Today's Exhortation :

Theme:
Friendship Pt. 1

'A man of too many friends comes to ruin.' Proverbs 18:24

With few exceptions, your success in life depends on your ability to establish and maintain relationships with the right people. According to a report by the American Management Association, the overwhelming consensus of two hundred managers who participated in a survey was that the most important skill of an executive is his or her ability to get along with people. They rated this ability as more vital than intelligence, decisiveness, knowledge or job skills.

Quite frankly, none of us makes very many true friends in life - at least, we better not! Solomon warns, 'A man of too many friends comes to ruin' (Proverbs 18:24). Friendship requires time, energy, sacrifice and investing yourself. And not every so-called friend will prove to be one, as Jeremiah warned King Zedekiah: 'They misled you and overcame you - those trusted friends of yours. Your feet are sunk in the mud; your friends have deserted you' (Jeremiah 38:22). The wrong friend may betray you, as Judas proved with Jesus. So here's a good rule of thumb: 'Be friendly to everyone, but don't have everyone as a friend.' Solomon said, 'The godly give good advice to their friends; the wicked lead them astray' (Proverbs 12:26).

Charles Spurgeon said, 'A man is known by the company he shuns, as well as the company he keeps.' One Hebrew word for 'choose' is tur, and in the Old Testament it refers to a man like a surveyor who searches out land. So if you are wise, you will explore and evaluate your friendships before you enter into them. You say, 'But I'm lonely.' As George Washington said, 'It is better to be alone than in bad company.'

Have a Blessed Week.

Today's Exhortation:

Theme:
What to do while you are waiting.

'I waited patiently for the Lord; he...heard my cry.' Psalm 40:1

Anything that is built well is put together slowly and carefully. Impatience is a sign of immaturity; children can't wait for anything. Try to understand this: your impatience won't move God faster. He works according to his own timetable. Paul writes, 'We know that all things work...according to his purpose' (Romans 8:28). Just because the door hasn't yet opened doesn't mean that God has changed his mind. The timing may not be right for him to get maximum glory, and you to get maximum benefit.

So, what should you do while you are waiting? Two things:

(1) Pray for God's will. And don't permit things to come into your life that are contrary to it, especially hurry and worry. Know how to allocate your time, your energy and your money, including whom you should and shouldn't spend time with. God says, 'I make known the end from the beginning' (Isaiah 46:10). Before God starts anything, he has a clear picture of the end goal, and he ordains the steps that lead you to it.

(2) While you are waiting - rejoice. 'Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vine, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Saviour' (Habakkuk 3:17).

Start thanking God today for what he is already done, and for what he is going to do in the future on your behalf. Because he will - he absolutely will come through for you.

Have an Awesome Week.

Understanding God's will Pt. 3

'The Holy Spirit warns me that prison and hardships are facing me.' Acts 20:23

About 75 percent of believers now live in Third World countries, often in anti-Christian environments. Xu Yonghai is one of them. He worked to see the legalisation of house churches in China. The government responded by locking him up for two years in a 2.4 metres square cell in a Beijing prison. There was no bathroom, only a pipe in a corner from which water flowed onto the concrete. 'My cell was the last stop for prisoners sentenced to die,' he said. 'At times there were as many as three other prisoners in the tiny damp room, awaiting their date with the executioner.' Yonghai survived through prayer, meditation and writing. Using a bar of soap to write on the walls of his cell, he outlined the major points of a book about God. When he had finished, he committed the thoughts to memory, and upon his release he turned his prison notes into a fifty-thousand-word book entitled God the Creator.

More often than not, your difficulties and hardships confirm you are in the will of God rather than out of it! Paul writes: 'I only know that in every city the Holy Spirit warns me that prison and hardships are facing me. However, I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me - the task of testifying to the Gospel of God's grace' (Acts 20:23-24).

Note the word grace. No matter how difficult the will of God may be, you can accomplish it by drawing each day on his limitless supply of grace.

Have a Blessed week.

A lazy person in prayer has 90% problem at hand!
Laziness in prayer is the decadence of destiny!

Do you know that the authority of the church is superior to that of the president of any nation?
Do you know that the voice of the church is much more stronger than the voice of the president of a nation?
King Herod gave an order to imprison Peter, the church cancelled the order! He commanded that Peter should be killed, the church reversed it!- Acts 10:1-11. Who is the church? You and I. Let's rise up against every negative verdict of the enemies!

Except some drastic measures are taken on the altar of prayers, certain things won't take shape!- Gen 32:22-32; I Chronicles 4 :9; James 5:16-18.
