UNDERSTANDING THE LAWS OF LIFE (Part 2)
The law of Vision (2 Corinthians 3:18)
The law of vision says that what you continually look at is what you become. This means that you cannot have it until you can see it. If you cannot see it, you cannot have it (Numbers 13:33). Godsent the children of Israel to go and sight the land He has given via a covenant with Abraham.
There, instead of seeing the good in the land, they only saw the inhabitants as giants, and them as grasshoppers. They saw possibilities and problems - a land that swallows its inhabitants. They saw defeat. They saw impossibilities. Only 2 out of the 12 spies saw differently. They saw themselves taking over. They saw victory.
In life, what you see is what you get. Where you are seeing problems, another can go there and see opportunities. You will receive the problems you see and the other will get the opportunities he saw - law of life. (Jeremiah 1:12).
What are you seeing in life? Challenges? Problems? Opportunities? Growth? What you see is what you get.
David saw victory and triumph in spite of the bellowings and threatenings of Goliath (1 Samuel 17:26).
@ I pray for you | Pst Emeka Orji
I terminate every voice of intimidation and fear speaking to you, in Jesus name.
David saw the opportunities in a victory against the philistine - he was going to become the King's son in law. That image stayed on him and propelled him to action.
Opportunities of life can come clothed like hard work. How you see then determines how you posture yourself.
Explore opportunities. Don't run from them. Don't see only brick walls. Recognize opportunities.
A Take of Two Salesmen
Two salesmen were sent to market shoes in a far away country. Upon getting there, they discovered that people in the town do not wear shoes. The first salesman quickly sent a message to his company that the planned shipment of shoes should be stopped. He didn't see himself selling shoes in a land where people do not wear shoes. Whereas the second salesman sent a message that the planned shipment should be doubled. He saw an opportunity to sell shoes to everyone in the ne city.
Abraham
God's promise to Abraham was taking time and Abraham was getting tired. God came and brought him out to see and count the stars in the sky. God's promise was that so shall his descendants be (Genesis 15:5). Abraham carried the picture in his mind as he waited for the promise to be established.
What you see helps you form a mental picture of your expectations.
The law of Faith (Luke 1:37; Mark 9:23)
With God, nothing is impossible and if you believe in God, nothing shall be impossible to you.
Let this be etched in your heart and mind. Allow your mind to believe it and believe it over your logical reasoning.
The law of Sabbath (Hebrews 4:4; Genesis 2:1-2)
If God can rest, how much more you! For everyone, there is a time to take a break and rest. You must have a time when you switch off and rest. Exhaustion is real. Rest. You need to rest. Rest when your body tells you to rest; not when the work finishes. The battle is not for the strong; neither the race for the swift. Take a vacation. Don't normalize suffering and overwork. God rested. It's Ok to be tired. Rest and renew your strength. Withdraw yourself sometimes so you can refocus and replan. Struggle doesn't solve it all the time. It is good to work hard but balance it. Rest is not weakness and it is not laziness. Rest.
The law of sacrifice (Acts 20:35)
It is more blessed to give than to receive. No altar is potent without a sacrifice. When last did you go out of your way to sacrifice your time/resources for someone? Has your giving always been from the place of convenience? Do you always guard your comfort and not allow anything to inconvenience you? Is it always about you? You must realize that life doesn't revolve around you. Give sacrificially. It brings promotion. It brings increase.
