Hello Beautiful people, i guess you are having a fabulous day. Just want to remind us of a few things from our departmental charter
CODE OF CONDUCT
YOU ARE A MINISTER OF HOSPITALITY AND EVANGELISM
Ushers are the first public relations people for the Church to the congregation and guests. Some guests are wary coming to a church and it takes very little to make their first visit their last. If they feel authentically welcomed and helped by the Usher or Greeter, God has one less stumbling block to hurdle in bringing the Gospel to these people.
The Usher’s lifestyle:
• Leadership by example.
• Spiritual preparation
The first key to effectiveness as an usher is prayer: spending time in individual and group prayer before the service is a very important requirement for an usher.
The usher should also cultivate these Qualities, which are:
• Being teachable. Have the willingness to learn.
• Develop the art of memorizing names and faces.
• Be tactful, polite, nice and hospitable to everyone at all times.
• Be gentle spoken
• Learn to smile always
• Be spiritually alert and sensitive
• Be a team player
Natural/Physical Preparation
Manners, physical appearance and personal hygiene are crucial as an usher. You should not put people off. Ushers should learn to be sensitive to peoples’ needs and limit to build lasting relations. Be courteous and always wear a smile as you direct people to their respective seats; greet people warmly making them feel like the Royalty they are (1 Pet. 2:9)
