At Sunayili GIBC, Tamale

A beautiful song in Dagbani was being sung as I was getting ready to preach in the church. Little did I know that the Holy Spirit had something greater planned for the end of the service—not even during the service itself.
Your visitation can take place anywhere, at any time, and in any way. Never box God.

After the service, a young man came to greet me and thanked me for the word. I greeted him back and lifted him up from the ground, because in that culture one has to squat when greeting an elder.
The pastor then told me that the young man had a case similar to that of the lady we prayed for in the church where I preached last Sunday.

As I laid hands on him, he suddenly fell, and I quickly supported him so he would not hit the ground hard. The Lord delivered him right there.

After that, several church members began queuing for prayers. That was how we unintentionally started a second healing service.

Praise God for healing and deliverance.....

While on the same survey, we got to another village.
Read the sad story about this village.

Two Christian denominations entered the village. Instead of building unity, they divided the small Christian community.
Eventually both groups left the village.
The remaining believers were isolated and spiritually unsupported.
Over time, the few Christians converted to Islam, which is the dominant religion in the community.

We simply asked if we could just be coming for Bible study with the family that had already left Christianity a long time ago.

This is one of the family members that converted to Islam.

The Challenge of Nominal Christianity.

In a newly reached village, we met a family who identify as Christians. However, two of their sons are married to Muslim women. One of the sons had to convert to Islam in order to marry because the community does not allow their daughters to marry Christians.
This situation reveals a deeper problem: lack of strong discipleship.
Many people identify as Christians but have not been deeply grounded in the faith. When important life decisions arise—such as marriage—they may not have the spiritual conviction or understanding needed to stand firm.

Take Away

Jesus did not simply instruct His followers to gather members. His command was to make disciples.
In the Gospel of Matthew 28:19–20, Jesus said:
“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations… teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you.”
