MY BIG BANG TESTIMONY
It was a calm afternoon in October 2013 while I was studying for my first degree in the University of Plymouth England. I got a call from my bank informing me that a large sum of money was in my account - a stranger had just deposited the sum of thirty-one thousand, eighty-two pounds (£31, 082) into my account via an online transfer in error, but this was unknown to my bank.
Immediately I called my husband to inform him of the development and in one breath he said "it is not our money, return the money back to the bank". The very next morning I went to my bank and declared to them that I was not the owner of the money. I still remember the looks of amazement on the faces of my account officer and the bank manager.
Long story short, they put a call through to their head office to inform them of the strange transaction and to inquire on what to do next with the money. In my presence the head office told them that this had not happened before in their bank and that my branch should do what they know best. I will not dwell too long on this because that is not the main point about this testimony. However, I was told by my bank not to leave so much in one account, and that I should open another account to hold part of the money, which I did. The money was left in my account for another eleven days while they looked for the strange depositor.
I was also asked to browse the net to see what others in my shoes did. Guess what? The first 3 letters of the depositor's name were same as my husband's, so it was a case I could have won if I was not a practicing Christian.
Many students on campus, Nigerians and otherwise, saw my action as foolish, even some key people in church thought so. I did not judge them because the Christian race is an individual one and they did not know how far God had taken me. The money was not mine, so I did not have to take it, case closed.
3 months after this event my general overseer pastor E A Adeboye of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) where I serve as a worker, declared a 100 days fast. It will interest you to know that though we were comfortable at the time, we were not rich, I still had one more tuition to pay at university. Also, my husband's foreign partners had left Nigeria at the time due to insecurity in the country, so the project funding my education had been put on hold.
But just like the bible says in the book of Hebrews 10:38 - Now the just shall live by faith..... I was ready to face my Goliath a day at a time. In my work with God, I always run with any vision God gives me even before I see the provision for it, no stopping, no waiting, no parking.
Initially I was not going to participate in the fast, my excuse? Course works, you know when you are not willing to do a thing there is always an excuse, so I lost 6 days out of the 100 days fast. To buy back my lost days I had to choose one of the marathon options. Thanks be to God for pastor EA Adeboye who by his anointing and wisdom gave us those options - 7 days dry =14 days, 21 days dry = 60 days, and 30 days dry = 100 days, I chose the last option.
It has been said that if you want to get the result you have not got before, you have to do what you have not done before. For 30 days I tasted no salt or pepper but the Lord was with me. I had not much strength for long prayers, but each time I prayed I found myself asking God for a Big Bang Testimony. So it was, the very next year after the fast I needed to pay another tuition of about eleven thousand pounds.
Unknown to me, while I was testing the waters in my Christian journey, the Lord was preparing one of his children in Nigeria to make provision for me. And on that faithful day in January 2015, the sum of two million, eight hundred and twenty thousand naira ( #2,820 000) was deposited into my account in Nigeria by one single individual - not a borrow. My tuition was paid to the glory of God, hallelujah! I did not have to abort school.
I did not only complete my first degree but proceeded to do a Master's degree in Anglia Ruskin University by another divine provision. Things can only get better where the lord is taking me.
When you deny yourself and honour the Lord in everything you do, He will never leave you nor forsake you in your time of need, He will honour you beyond your wildest imagination. I thank the lord that I overcame the temptation and passed the test.
Brethren, here comes another opportunity to take advantage of the RCCG fast, choose your option and may the Lord honour your fast.
*When you buy wisdom, please don't sell it*
I'm waiting to hear your Big Bang Testimonies.
Shalom❤
