HE WONT DO IT

The Almighty God doesn't destroy the righteous with the wicked. It is not His practice.

In the days of Noah, the righteous few were less than 0.1 percent of the population, yet God removed the righteous before unleashing His wrath upon the then world.

S***m and Gomorrah were two cities given to sexual immorality. Lot and his family were the only righteous within the city. Yet God saved Lot and his household before bringing his judgemental fire upon these cities.

The night that God killed all the firstborns in the land of Egypt in a move to bring Israel out of Egyptian bo***ge, Israel was preserved.

This attribute of God was the basis for Abraham's supplication for S***m.
"And Abraham drew near, and said, Wilt thou also destroy the righteous with the wicked? Peradventure there be fifty righteous within the city: wilt thou also destroy and not spare the place for the fifty righteous that are therein? That be far from thee to do after this manner, to slay the righteous with the wicked: and that the righteous should be as the wicked, that be far from thee: Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?
And the LORD said, If I find in S***m fifty righteous within the city, then I will spare all the place for their sakes( Genesis 26:23-26 KJV)

God will not destroy the righteous and the wicked together. The righteous are so precious to me.

SATAN IS OVERRATED

We have been deceived to think that Satan causes everything that is bad; diseases, poverty, untimely death and the likes. This is far from the truth. It is gross misconception.
Yeah, Satan is the causes of some bad things. I agree totally that Satan is evil and should be prayed against and resisted. However, Satan is not the only enemy of man. Infact, he is not the most deadly enemy of man.

For too long a time, we have given too much attention and time fighting the devil while we have ignored the other enemies. Some of these enemies are more dangerous than even the Satan we so much talk and pray about.

Have you ever thought how deadly and destructive ignorance can be? Have you prayed to God to deliver you from ignorance? I doubt you have ever done that.

I believe Satan is happy that he is given so much attention. He has successfully distracted us from fighting other enemies. I believe Satan occasioned this. He makes us believe he is responsible for everything that is not good. This wrong believe alone is bad enough.
The belief by many that Satan is responsible for everything that is bad is the reason they haven't been taking responsibilities for what happens in their lives. Afterall, they can always blame all their failures and misfortunes on the Devil.
This is really painful. I doubt anyone with this psychology can ever succeed and live a purposeful life.

Living a purposeful life involve taking responsibilities for what goes on in your life. You won't experience any significant progress in your life until you begin to take responsibility for your life.

PRAYER IS OVERRATED

Surprised? Yes, prayer is overrated. I do not intend to say prayer is unnecessary or ineffectual. Prayer has always been inevitable and will always be for anyone that wants to live victoriously in this world. Even more, we are commanded to pray without ceasing(1 Thessalonians 4:17).However, prayer alone is ineffective. It usually fail to effect the needed change.

Sometimes, you need to add certain ingredients to prayer to make it effective. Sometimes, fasting, repentance, obedience to divine instruction, forgiveness, worship or even consecration is necessary. And there are situations in which these have produced a powerful result in the absence of prayer.

In the days of Jehoshaphat king of Judah, worship alone did wonders(2 chronicles 20). Peter got supernatural breakthrough where he had once failed terribly when he allowed Jesus to use his ship to preach to the people (Luke 5:1-6). We are told in James 5:6 that confession of faults may sometimes be necessary for supernatural healing.

Prayer on it own is powerless. It produces no result. The kind of prayer that produces supernatural results is the prayer that moves God. Hence, your prayer is nothing if it fails to move God to act. Therefore, repentance is necessary if you have offended God. Obedience is necessary when God has given you an instruction. Forgiveness is inevitable when you are bearing grudges and offences in your heart. These are necessary because without them, your prayers will fail to move God. And until God moves, nothing happens.

Whenever you are praying, remember that your goal is to move God to act. Therefore, do everything that is necessary to move God to act on your behalf. Any prayer either personal or corporate that fails to move God is empty and lifeless.

DONT FAIL QUESTION ONE!

You were in an examination hall with a question paper in front of you. There were five questions. The total possible score is 100 marks but question one is compulsory and it carries 70 marks. You couldn't fail question one and pass the exam. Even if you got the other questions right, as long as you fail question 1, you already failed the examination.

Now, understand that life is a kind examination. That question one is the commandment to love God and our fellow humans. Once you get it wrong with loving God and your fellow men, you have failed at life. It doesn't really matter how many other things you get right, but when you fail to love, you have failed at life.

Loving is living. There is no greater commandment than to love. Loving is the fulfillment of the law.

"Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying Master, which is the great commandment in the law? Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets (Matthew 22:35 - 40 KJV)

The greatest calling of every believer in Christ is unto love. And when we obey it, God is pleased with us, men are blessed and heaven rejoice.

Keep Your Faith Alive

On your faith journey, it will come to a point where you will find it difficult to understand. It would seem the more you believe and trust God, the more things seem to fall apart. You will be tempted to give up and stop believing God.
