MSSN LAGOS CELEBRATES EID-UL-FITR WITH THE MUSLIM UMMAH.

AlhamduliLlah!

The Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria (MSSN), Lagos State Area Unit, extends warm felicitations to the Muslim Ummah in Nigeria and across the globe on the joyous occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, marking the successful completion of the Ramadan fast in the year 1447 A.H.

The blessed month of Ramadan has been a period of profound spiritual elevation, self-restraint, and renewed consciousness of Allah (SWT). It has offered us the opportunity to strengthen our faith through acts of worship, deepen our devotion, and demonstrate compassion, generosity, and unity within our communities.

As we celebrate this Eid, MSSN Lagos enjoins all Muslims to preserve the values cultivated during Ramadan—steadfastness in Ibaadah, sincerity in actions, and kindness towards humanity. The true essence of Ramadan lies not only in its observance but in the continuity of its lessons beyond the month.

We also use this moment to call for peaceful coexistence, mutual respect, and collective responsibility in building a just and harmonious society. As students and future leaders, we must remain committed to upholding righteousness and contributing positively to national development.

We pray that Allah (SWT) accepts our fasting, prayers, and all acts of worship, forgives our shortcomings, and grants us the grace to witness many more Ramadan in good health and unwavering faith. Ameen.

May Allah also guide our leaders aright and grant them wisdom in the discharge of their responsibilities for the benefit of all.

Eid Mubarak!
Taqabbalallahu minna wa minkum.

Professor Isa Ali Pantami prays:

O Allah, the Ever-Living, Self-Sustainer, make us among those who are the greatest beneficiaries of the month of Ramadan and answer our supplications.

O Allah, the Ever-Living, the Self-Sustainer, be merciful to our deceased parents, family members, children, and our loved ones.

O Allah, the Ever-Living, the Self-Sustainer, whoever is merciful to the poor and the weak, be Merciful to him; and whoever is unmerciful to them, be unmerciful to him.

O Allah, the Ever-Living and Self-Sustainer, bless our communities, states, and country with stability, peace, prosperity, and justice for All and continue to guide all to the path of success in both worlds.

Today is 12th of Ramadhan 1447AH (1 March 2026)

Ramadhan 1447AH Nuggets

Read/Recite the Qur'an ... start today if not earlier.

Narrated A'ishah:

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, " The one who is proficient in the recitation of the Qur'an will be with the honourable and obedient scribes (angels) and he who recites the Qur'an and finds it difficult to recite, doing his best to recite it in the best way possible, will have two rewards."

Al-Bukhari and Muslim

NOTES 📝

1. Allah revealed the Qur’an as guidance and mercy for all people, so Muslims should strive to read, memorize, understand, and act upon its teachings. In this hadith, the Prophet ﷺ explained that a person who recites the Qur’an skillfully, with fluency and ease, will be in the company of the noble and righteous angels. These angels, known as "safarah" (messengers - refer to Surah ‘Abasa ayah 13 -16), are entrusted with carrying divine revelations and are free from sin. The hadith suggests that those proficient in Qur’an recitation will either be in their companionship in the Hereafter or share their noble qualities in their dedication to the Book of Allah.

2. On the other hand, a person who struggles with Qur’anic recitation, stammering or facing difficulty, is also greatly rewarded. Such a person receives double the reward: one for reciting the Qur’an and another for the effort and hardship endured while doing so. However, this does not mean their reward surpasses that of a skilled reciter. The expert reciter attains a higher rank due to their dedication and fluency, but the struggling reader is still highly valued for their perseverance in seeking Allah’s pleasure.

3. This hadith encourages preserving, mastering, and frequently reciting the Qur’an to attain great reward and highlights the elevated status of those who do so. As explained by Shaykh Ibn Baz, true excellence lies not only in beautiful recitation, but in combining precise reading with understanding and acting upon its teachings, fulfilling it both in word and in practice.

O Allah, aid us in becoming righteous, grant us Taqwa so that we may do abundant good deeds during the month of Ramadhan and beyond ... Ãmeen.
