BENEFITS OF PRAISE
DAILY READING: Acts 13:1-10 "As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them." Vs.2.
Another benefit of praise is that it brings divine direction and guidance. When we praise and worship God sincerely, our hearts become more sensitive to His voice. Praise clears away confusion and allows the Holy Spirit to speak clearly.
In our text, the early church was praying, fasting, and ministering to the Lord in praise. In that atmosphere of worship, the Holy Spirit gave them clear instructions concerning Paul and Barnabas. Vs 2: "Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work I called them..." Praise opened the door for divine direction.
Similarlv, in 2 Chronicles 20:12-15, when Judah was in trouble, they turned to God with worship. In that moment, the Spirit of the Lord came upon Jahaziel with a word of direction that brought victory. Vs. 15 & 16 says thus "And he said, Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat, Thus saith the LORD unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God's. Tomorrow go ye down against them: behold, they come up by the cliff of Ziz; and ye shall find them at the end of the brook, before the wilderness of Jeruel." This shows that praise is not only about singing, but also a powerful key to hearing God's mind,
Beloved, many times we struggle with decisions about life, marriage, or business. But if you will take time to praise God and wait in His presence, He will show you the right path. Praise brings clarity, peace, and direction to every confused heart.
Prayer: O Lord, as I praise You, let my heart be open to Your voice. Guide me into Your perfect will for my life, in Jesus name, Amen.
