Grow in Grace!
Apostle Peter in 2 Peter 3:18 says, "But grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ", meaning grow in grace through the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. So as we consistently increase in the knowledge (epignosis-correct and precise knowledge) of Jesus, we also increase in grace moving from one level to another and the end of it is that we come to attain the fullness of Christ. So to grow in grace we must seek the knowledge of Christ.

DELIVERANCE THROUGH ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
In Jeremiah 3: 12-15, We see Israel and Judea caught in the addiction of Idol worship, and for them it was becoming a normalcy despite the call by the Lord unto them to return. On of the snares of the Devil in keeping men in their wrongs (sin) is the snare of explaining away or giving a reason why they should keep doing that which is wrong and this was the position Israel found themselves, and that's why they said in verse 1 of chapter 13, "They say, If a man put away his wife, and she go from him, and become another man's, shall he return unto her again? shall not that land be greatly polluted? but thou hast played the harlot with many lovers; yet return again to me, saith the Lord." God speaking through the Prophet Jeremiah, was saying to them the way by which you will come out of this is to acknowledge that you have done wrong saying "Only acknowledge thine iniquity, that thou hast transgressed against the Lord thy God, and hast scattered thy ways to the strangers under every green tree" but the Lord says, "...and ye have not obeyed my voice,..." Whatever wrong we are held in, the moment we acknowledge that it is wrong under God, he said, "...and I will bring you to Zion:And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding." meaning we would be translated from the shackles of darkness that has held us into light (understanding and knowledge) so that no more again shall we be held bound but we would be free.

CAIN AND ABEL: A DEFINITION OF OBEDIENCE AND DISOBEDIENCE
In looking at the story about Cain and Abel offering sacrifices to God, most times our focus might be so much on that which they sacrificed being the reason for the rejection or acceptance of their offerings, but looking closely, you discover that the rejection or acceptance of the offerings offered by Cain and Abel lies not only on the offering they offered but on the steps they took, making a choice of what is to be offered, how it is to be offered in relation to the instruction of God. The scripture says, "But Abel brought [an offering of] the [finest] firstborn of his flock and the fat portions. And the Lord had respect (regard) for Abel and for his offering; but for Cain and his offering He had no respect. So Cain became extremely angry (indignant), and he looked annoyed and hostile." Cain brought an offering, but why was it not respected? because he offered an offering that was not in line with the instruction of God and that's why when he got infuriated about God not accepting his offering God said to him, "Why are you so angry? And why do you look annoyed? If you do well [believing Me and doing what is acceptable and pleasing to Me], will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well [but ignore My instruction]" So the acceptance or rejection of the offerings offered was not just on the quality of the offering but on the offering being offered based in obedience to the instruction that God had given to them in what and how to offer their offerings as the scripture says, "And the Lord had respect (regard) for Abel and for his offering; but for Cain and his offering He had no respect. So what is the lesson? The Lord will only respect that which is done in obedience to his word and disrespect that which is done in disobedience to his word no matter how great.

THE PLACE OF PERSISTENCE IN PRAYER
In Luke chapter 11:5-10, the Lord Jesus after teaching his disciples how to prayer began to talk about the place of persistence in prayer in receiving that which we ask for. In verse 8, he said, "But I tell you this - though he won't do it for friendship's sake, if you keep knocking long enough, he will get up and give you whatever you need because of your shameless persistence." Christ is saying here that we should not give up when we ask and don't receive in the first instance because if that's what we do very few of our request will be granted but he admonishes us to persist in asking and at the end we receive WHATEVER it is we are asking for. For the Scripture says, "For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened." Amen.

JUDGE NOT
Who are you to judge someone else’s servant?
Christ speaking says, “Do not judge others and you will not be judged.” We have to understand that Christ was saying that we should not run into conclusions either through what we say or what we think in our hearts concerning others because we might just be all wrong in our opinion of them.
The bible says, “they are responsible to the Lord, so let him judge whether they are right or wrong” so we have to desist from the snare of creating this mental picture of judgement in our hearts with respect to the actions and attitudes of others condemning them in our hearts which brings about separation between us and them but instead, we should tread with caution and show love towards each other and encourage one another, for it is the Lord who approves and not us.

IDENTIFIED
“a tree is identified by its fruits…” Matthew 12:33
No more do we need to carry out complex tests or experiments to ascertain the nature of a tree because according to the bible, “if you make a tree good, its fruit will be good and if the tree is bad, its fruit will be bad” so a tree is identified by its fruit means we cannot bring forth or show out anything less or more than that which is our make up.
We don’t need to look too far to know the kind of persons that we are, because what we are is shown very clearly by our attitudes, actions and our characters. The bible says, “A good person produces good things from the treasury of a good heart an evil person produces evil things from the treasury of an evil heart.” And this is why we have to really be careful to guard our hearts just as we are admonished by he scriptures in Proverbs 4:23.
It should be well known to us that whatever we give out is as a result of the state of our inside (heart) and as a consequence of this we are identified either as good or bad.

WALKING IN PURPOSE
What is purpose? What does it entails? You know, sometimes when we think about purpose or talk about it, we tend to think about doing or being involved in something so big and global, what really is purpose? Purpose is the reason for which a thing has been made, relating it to us, purpose is doing that or carrying out that which you have been designed to do or carry out, meaning that it does not matter how big or small that which you might be involved in is but if that which you are involved in is what you have been designed to do then you are fulfilling purpose.
A woman in a little village just somewhere around the corner of the world not known by many might be fulfilling purpose compared to one who is well renowned and popular but not fulfilling purpose. I am not saying here that ones purpose will always be something that is not global but what I am trying to say here is that whatever we are doing or involved in we should make sure we are in line with his purpose for our lives. The bible says, “Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it the Lord's purpose that will prevail.”(Proverbs 19:21). The bible is not saying here that God is going to force His purposes upon us whether we like it or not, no because there are so many people living outside God’s purpose in the world today but then it is saying that when we embrace or key into God’s purpose for our lives, we make the much needed impact and become effective in the world no matter how big or small what we are doing might be.
So what is the lesson? We should understand his purpose for our lives and live it out knowing that the focus is not on how big or small what we doing might be but whether we are living out his purpose.

IT TAKES MORE THAN WILLINGNESS
Isaiah 1:19, says, "If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land; (ESV). When it comes to doing that which God has assigned or called us to do, we can see that a willing heart alone will not help us. It takes a willing heart and then a corresponding obedience to do that which we are required to do. Suffice me to state it very clearly again that a willing heart alone is not a guarantee that we would obey, but then in the process to obeying God there must first be a willing heart, that is were it all begins but many in trying to obey the Lord have ended up only with a willing heart, not allowing that willingness to grow and become an act of obedience. The bible says, "For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of [his] good pleasure." So we can see that first God will stir up in us that willingness that will lead us to act in obedience doing that which he wants us to do. Paul speaking to the Corinthians in 2 Corinthians 8:11 - 12, he says, "Now therefore perform the doing [of it]; that as [there was] a readiness to will, so [there may be] a performance also out of that which ye have. For if there be first a willing mind, [it is] accepted according to that a man hath, [and] not according to that he hath not." So we can see that always we are to allow our willingness to lead to obedience but then it begins with a willing heart and that is why he said, "If there be first a willing heart..." so what is the lesson? It is that we do not just end in having willingness only towards a thing and allow it to end just there because if there will be obedience then we must will first and then do, else there is no obedience.

COMPLETE ADORNING

In 1 Peter 3:3-4, Apostle Peter said, "Do not let you adorning be external - the braiding of hair and the putting on of gold jewelry, or the clothing you wear - but let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quite spirit which in God's sight is very precious." Apostle Peter though originally was speaking to women, I think what he wrote applies to us all and we can see from the verses above that he was pointing something very important which is taken lightly or seen as unimportant or unnecessary in this age that is intenal adorning. In verse 4 of 1 Peter, he said, "...but let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart...which in God's sight is precious." It is not like adorning ourselves externally is bad, the bible did not say that but it is saying that our adorning should be complete, internal and external else we get it wrong. Looking closely at the hidden person of the heart, which the bible said is very precious before God, we would discover that God places more importance to our internal adorning because when our internal adorning is right, it will also result in right external adorning. God does not want us to adorn ourselves badly externally at the expense of our internal adorning but God understands and knows the inside controls the outside and that is why the bible said, "Guard your heart with all deligence for out of it flows the issues of life." We can see that because peoples heart are not well adorned they adorn themselves so badly externally. What God wants from us is not a focus on the external only because it perishes but we should much more focus on the internal beauty which is imperishable and precious before him hallelujah!

DEEP CALLS TO DEEP
Psalms 42:7 says, "(Roaring) deep calls to (roaring) deep at the thunder of your waterspouts, all your breakers and your rolling waves have gone over me." God is not going to give us access into deeper things in him or we are not going to have access into God's deeper things until our inside is made so deep and enlarged enough to contain and to understand this deep things just as the psalmist said, "Deep calls unto deep at the noise of your waterfalls..." notice that it is deep that calls unto deep meaning that for us to go deeper and access deeper things in God we must put ourselves in position. Looking at the second part of the above scripture, it says, "...all your breakers and your rolling waves have gone over me." notice it says gone and not go or going, so we see that the psalmist had gone thorough things that puts him in position to call unto the deep things of God.
So what are we really saying here? We are saying that to access the deep things of God we must also be deep in our inside enough to accept his depth. In 1 Corinthians 2:10, the bible says, "But God has revealed them to us by his spirit..." Why? In the second part of the same chapter, it says, "for the spirit searches the deep things of God. So we can see the reason why God gives us of his spirit so that we can come to the same level of deepness and access deep things from him and probably you will understand why those that have not his spirit finds it very hard to understand and grasp spiritual things because they are the shallow level just as the bible says, " the carnal mind cannot understand ..."
So what is the lesson, we must keep going deep because how deep we draw out of God will be determined by how deep we are ourselves.

WISDOM VERSUS WISDOM
There is wisdom and there is a wisdom, the first is earthly, sensual, and demonic according to James 3:14 and 15, it says, "But if you have bitter envy and self seeking in your hearts, do not boast and lie against the truth. This wisdom does not descend from above, but is earthly, sensual, demonic." from the scriptures there are two things mentioned that are clear evidence of the manifestation of the wisdom that is not from above (of this world, sensual, earthly and demonic) they are bitter envy and self-seeking and in verse 16, the Bible gives a clear statement of the result of the manifestation of this wisdom. It says, "For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there." So we by these scriptures know when we are ruled by this wisdom. The other wisdom the Bible talks about is the wisdom from above (from God), the bible says, "But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits without partiality and without hypocrisy." Notice the Bible says, "...first pure, then... " so the first evidence of the wisdom from God is purity without this it cannot be said to be from above no matter what the wisdom comes with and that is why the scripture was careful to state, "...first pure... " before stating others. So what is the message? We should be sure of the wisdom we are operating with, if it is of this world or of God.

STIR UP In Haggi 1:14, the bible says, "so the Lord stirred up the spirit of Zerubbabel the son of Shealteil governor of Judah, and the spirit of all the remnant of the people and they came and worked on the house of the Lord of hosts, their God". The people were not just stirred up by the Lord, God spoke to the people through his prophet Haggi about his house that was in ruins and after they heard the word of the Lord the bible says, "Then Zerubbabel the son of Shealteil and Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, with all the remnant of the people, obeyed the voice of the Lord their God..." Notice they had not really started to do that which God wanted them to do but the bible said, "they obeyed the voice of the Lord their God" Why? That's because after they heard the words of God as spoken by Haggi the prophet, they made up their hearts and mind to do that which God had instructed them and nothing else and due to this made up mind to obey, God stirred up their spirits, so they moved out to work for the Lord. So we can see that it is only a mind that is made up to obey that will receive a corresponding grace that will enable such a one to carry out any God given task. The word is obedience!
