Topic: *THE TRUE JUDGE*

*Bible Text* : Psalms 62:12
_Also unto thee, O Lord, belongeth mercy: for thou renderest to every man according to his work._ [KJV]

· *Just a Charge* :
We sometimes hear of miscarriage of judgment from human judges of this world. Sometimes, this is due to their human limitations; other times, it is the product of their corrupt heart! By this, at times, the just is condemned; and the wicked is justified! Even the judgment of the wicked could be disproportionate to the crime committed!

However, there is a Judge whose judgment is absolutely faultless. His judgment is righteous, true and perfectly proportionate. He judges both the good and the evil. He judges the righteous and the wicked. He will give to every man according to his work. There is no miscarriage of judgement with Him. There is no partiality with Him. He cannot be bribed. He is absolutely incorruptible. I guess you already know who I am talking about! He is the Almighty God: the True Judge. Therefore, "Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil." [Ecclesiastes 12:13-14]

Good enough, this Judge is generously merciful! "For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee." [Psalms 86:5]. If any sinner shall call upon Him in repentance before forgiveness becomes impossible (before physical death - Hebrews 9:27), God will readily forgive such a one. Let each of us take advantage of His mercy today, as we humbly own up, confess and repent of our sins and wrongs before Him. Tomorrow; yea, even the next moment, may be too late. Repent now!

May God's mercy avail for you today. Amen!

· *Think upon this* :
If any sinner shall call upon Him in repentance before forgiveness becomes impossible (before physical death - Hebrews 9:27), God will readily forgive such a one.

· *Today's scripture meditation* :
Romans 2:5-6
5 But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God; 6 Who will render to every man according to his deeds: (KJV)

· *Prayer Points* :
1. Give thanks unto God because He yet keep you alive today.
2. God is plenteous in mercy. Let us adore Him for this.
3. Thank God for His generosity in mercy, and His always readiness to pardon man's sins. Just imagine if it is otherwise!
4. Psalms 103:8-19. Acknowledge His mercy in being so patience with you hitherto, despite your many wrongs.
5. Proverbs 28:13. Today, seek God's mercy and forgiveness as you genuinely confess, repent and forsake all your known (and unknown) sins before Him.
6. Ecclesiastes 12:13-14. Ask God earnestly today for abundant grace to live a life that pleases Him to the end, so that you can escape the eternal judgment of sinners.
7. Now, hand over your day unto God. Pray that His mercy will avail for you throughout the day.

*THE FAMILY ALTAR*
_Sunday, 23rd of August, 2026_

Topic: *PASTOR’S QUALIFICATION (4)*

*Bible Text* : 1 Timothy 3:1-7
_1._ _This is a faithful saying: If a man desires the position of a bishop, he desires a good work. 2. A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, temperate, sober-minded, of good behavior, hospitable, able to teach, 3. not given to wine, not violent, not greedy for money, but gentle, not qurrelsome, not covetous; 4. one who rules his own house well, having his children in submission with all reverence 5. (for if a man does not know how to rule his own house, how will he take care of the church of God?); 6. not a novice, lest being puffed up with pride he fall into the same condemnation as the devil. 7. Moreover, he must have a good testimony among those who are outside, lest he fall into reproach and snare of the devil._ [NKJV]

· *Just a Charge* :
Another important qualification of a Pastor we are considering today has to do with his human relationship skill. According to our main Bible text, a Pastor must be someone who is not quarrelsome, of good behaviour, hospitable, have a good testimony among those within and without.

That this is a key qualifier should be very clear; because humans are being committed to his hands to be tendered as sheep of the Lord. He will have to relate with diverse shades of character in the church. He must be able to handle the lambs and the sheep in the church. He must be someone who has a large heart to accommodate people; someone who is tolerant of, and patient with, the scruples of the weak. His general human management skill must be sound, if he doesn't want to be a shepherd that divides or scatters the Lord's fold!

What a man does not have he can't give! If a pastor is bad-mannered, bereaved of good nature and character, he will definitely fail in the management of the people of God! God will not trust His sheep to such a person. Again, we can call to remembrance his family or domestic life. Charity begins at home. Bad human relationship at home is a precursor to bad human relationship in the church; except in the face of hypocrisy!
Pastor, are you still qualified on the Lord's measuring scale? Judge ye!

God bless you in His presence today.

· *Meditate on this* :
What a man does not have he can't give! If a pastor is bad-mannered, bereaved of good nature and character, he will definitely fail in the management of the people of God! God will not trust His sheep to such a person.

· *Today's scripture meditation* :
2 Timothy 2:24-26
24. And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, 25. In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; 26. And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will. (KJV)

· *Prayer Points* :
1. Let us give thanks unto the Preserver of our soul for His kindness in keeping us to this new day.
2. Give praise to the Lord of the harvest, the Shepherd of our souls.
3. Thank God for His good plan for you and your house this new day and week.
4. Are you a Pastor? If so, here again today is another opportunity for self-examination and self-judgment leading to genuine repentance where need be. On the yardstick of today's qualifier, can you stand approved before the Lord of the church? Humbly and prayerfully do the needful today.
5. As a congregant under a Pastor with obvious character and human relationship deficiency, please pray for your pastor.
6. Has your pastor's failing hurt the health of your church? Take that to God in prayer today. Pray that the Lord will heal His church.
7. Pray concerning your day and week. Trust God with all your plans.

*THE FAMILY ALTAR*
_Saturday, 22nd of August, 2026_

· *Hymn for the day* :
_My times are in Thy hand_
(SM)

1. My times are in Thy hand
My God, I wish them there
My life, my friends, my soul I leave
Entirely to Thy care

2. My times are in Thy hand
Whatever they may be
Pleasing or painful, dark or bright
As best may seem to Thee

3. My times are in Thy hand
Why should I doubt or fear?
A father’s hand will never cause
His child a needless tear.

4. My times are in Thy hand
Jesus, the crucified
The hand my cruel sins had pierced
Are now my guard and guide.

5. My times are in Thy hand
I’ll always trust in Thee
And after death, at Thy right hand
I shall for ever be.

Topic: *MAN PROPOSES, GOD DISPOSES*

*Bible Text* : James 4:13-15
_13. Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit”; whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. 14. For what is your life? It is even a v***r that appears for a little time and then vanishes away. 15. Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that.”_ (NKJV)

· *Just a Charge* :
Yes, it is in the power of man to plan his ways. We are given a sound mind to think, reason, and calve a plan for ourselves. It’s a gift of God. God gave us the capacity. But, that ends there!

In Proverbs 16:9, it is written, “A man’s heart plans his way, but the LORD directs his steps.” Man proposes, God disposes. At the end of our shrewdest of plan, it is only that which God permits that shall be. This is because God already has the master-plan of our life written in His book (Psalms 139:16 – TLB, NLT). Many a time, our best plan is myopic about or incongruent with His own; even though, inadvertently. We are limited in knowledge, wisdom and perception. We know not what might be beyond the present moment. God is all-knowing, all-wise. More so, His plan for us is always the best.
Now, does that mean we should not bother to plan, anyway? Not at all! Only that we must make provision for divine interruption and right of place, as we exercise our privilege to plan. We must be very watchful that we do not insist on our personal plan, as to personally frustrate His for us. We should be prepared to praise God when He disposes as He wills, even if our own plan is side-stepped. He is God. He is sovereign. He thinks the best of us. We must always acknowledge Him and thank Him in all things.

May God’s will be established in your life always, in Jesus name.

· *Think upon this* :
We should be prepared to praise God when He disposes as He wills, even if our own plan is side-stepped. He is God. He is sovereign. He thinks the best of us.

· *Today's scripture meditation* :
Proverbs 20:24
Man's goings are of the LORD; how can a man then understand his own way? (KJV)
Jeremiah 10:23
O LORD, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps. (KJV)

· *Prayer Points* :
1. It’s another day in the land of the living by the grace of God. Thank God for this privilege.
2. Psalms 139:16. Acknowledge and bless the Lord for the wonderful plan He has written concerning you.
3. Appreciate God for His kindness and faithfulness towards you and your family this outgoing week.
4. “The wicked are estranged from the womb: they go astray as soon as they be born, speaking lies.” [Psalms 58:3]. A sinner is naturally prone to walk out of God’s plan for his or her life. His best plan is usually opposite of God’s beautiful plan for his or her life. Only in Christ is a man able to understand and walk in God’s plan. Come to Him today with a repentant heart. Surrender your life to the Lordship of Jesus Christ.
5. Though born again, have you been walking your own plan unmindful of God’s sovereign plan for your life? You are always insistent and struggling to see your own plan fulfilled. Today, have a change of heart. Submit to the sovereignty of God to dispose concerning you as He wills.
6. Today, wholeheartedly surrender yourself to God’s written plan for your life. Pray that He should always have His way concerning you.
7. “Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established.” [Proverbs 16:3]. Father, thank You for given me a sound mind. Please, in all my plans in life henceforth, let me be guided by your will and wisdom, in Jesus name.
8. Let us handle individual prayer requests now.
9. Pray to God concerning all your affairs this day and weekend. Pray that this shall be unto you and your house a peaceful and progressive day and weekend, in Jesus mighty name.

Topic: *KEY VIRTUES IN RELATIONAL PEACE (7)*

*Bible Text* : Proverbs 10:19
_In the multitude of words sin is not lacking. But he who restrains his lips is wise._ [NKJV]

· *Just a Charge* :
Self-control is another vital skill that one must possess in order to be able to keep relationship and enjoy peace in it. Self-control has Self-restraint, Self-containment and Self-mastery as synonyms. It is the ability to be able to master one's self in the face of provocation or temptation to speak or act ill-advisedly or improperly. This is a virtue that virtually everyone has, though in different measures. One thing is to have the ability to master one's self; another thing is to actually exercise it as at when necessary. Especially if you are a child of God, self-control is one of the fruit of the Spirit that you are given. No child of God should therefore have any excuse in this matter.

In relationship, especially in close relationships of marital and family, we may need this virtue quite often. You must be able to master especially your emotion in order that it will not move you unto wrong and injurious words and deeds that could cause serious or even irreparable damages to the fabrics of otherwise profitable relationships. We must be able to restrain or refrain ourselves from speaking, acting or reacting inappropriately even when we are provoked by the words or deeds of our relating partner(s). Self-control is not to be reckoned as being a coward or anything of such; rather, it is manifestation of maturity and wisdom on your part. By that, you douse possible fire that lack of self-control could kindle. Who knows how that such fire could have consumed the relationship with all its inherent benefits!! May God help you to gain mastery of yourself from today, in Jesus mighty name.

I wish you God's speed in all your ways today, in Jesus name.

· *Think upon this* :
Self-control is not to be reckoned as being coward or anything of such; rather, it is manifestation of maturity and wisdom on your part. By that, you douse possible fire that lack of self-control could kindle. Who knows how that such fire could have consumed the relationship with all its inherent benefits!!

· *Today's scripture meditation* :
James 3:2
For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body. (KJV)

· *Prayer Points* :
1. Let the living soul give praise to the Living God who sustained our souls till today.
2. Worship Jesus Christ, our Lord and Friend.
3. It is not good for man to be alone. Thank God for all shades of your relationship. Thank God in particular for your family relationship.
4. Inability to master “self” could pose great threat to any form of human relationship. Have you caused damage to any of your relationships through failings in self-control? If so, pray that God should please heal such damage and restore such beneficial relationship in His mercy.
5. Pray that the Holy Spirit should help you from today to be able to master your “self”, in order to be able to maintain peace in your relationships, whatever the shape.
6. Pray for your family in particular, that the grace for self-control will manifest freely in all, towards all, in Jesus name.
7. Trust yourself and all that concerns you today unto God. Pray for a fruitful day in all ramifications.

*THE FAMILY ALTAR*
_Thursday, 20th of August, 2026_

Topic: *JESUS THE CHRIST: THE GREAT HEALER*

*Bible Text* : Exodus 15:26
_And said, "If you diligently heed the voice of the LORD your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all his statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I brought on the Egyptians. For I am the LORD who heals you."_ [NKJV]

· *Just a Charge* :
A man called Aeneas who dwelled in Lydda had been paralyzed and bedridden for eight years before Peter, the Apostle of Jesus Christ, came in contact with him. That contact brought him healing and changed story. He got his healing through Peter; but his healing was by Jesus Christ. Peter said to him, "Aeneas, Jesus the Christ heals you. Arise and make your bed." Then he arose immediately [Acts 9:34].

The above bible example of healing tells exactly how a man could receive genuine healing. Peter was the vessel; Jesus Christ is the Healer. No man is a healer. But God can use any man or means to bring healing to the sick. Medically or spiritually, genuine healing is of and from God. Even medical doctors acknowledge this truth. They confess: "We care; God heals." It is only in and through Jesus Christ that the Almighty God has ordained total healing (spirit, soul, and body) for mankind [Psalms 103:1-5, Isaiah 53:4-5, 1 Peter 2:21-26].

Can healing be gotten from another source otherwise than Jesus Christ? It is a Yes! Satan gives healings. He does that through his numerous agencies and servants in the world. Nevertheless, it is already known and proven that he can only give counterfeit and stringed healing, even at a cost! He can only give his healing in exchange for something much more precious. For instance, he will be more than willing to give his fake and short-term healing to anyone who is willing to give him his or her soul in exchange! He could give healing and take away the material blessings of the sick! Generally, Satan trades on the template of cunning deception and wicked intent with his "gift" of healing!!

Whereas Satan trades with his false and impermanent healing, God's healing through Christ Jesus is free, genuine, wholesome and permanent. Jesus heals on the template of His grace, compassion and limitless power. Man receives His healing through faith. Whenever Jesus sees faith in man, His compassionate heart is touched, and His healing virtue flows freely and fully to heal the sick. Satan, on the other hand is bereaved of compassion. He heals from a deceptive and wicked heart!

Both of these sources - Jesus and Satan - are available for man's choice. Which would you choose? The choice is always yours!

May your day be beautiful. Amen!

· *Think upon this* :
Whereas Satan trades with his false and impermanent healing, God's healing through Christ Jesus is free, genuine, wholesome and permanent. Both of these sources - Jesus and Satan - are available for man's choice.

· *Today's scripture meditation* :
Luke 6:19
And the whole multitude sought to touch him: for there went virtue out of him, and healed them all. (KJV)

· *Prayer Points* :
1. Thank You Lord for the miracle of life for yet another day.
2. Exodus 15:26. Our God is the Jehovah Rapha. Worship this great and merciful Healer.
3. Isaiah 53:4-5. Let us in particular appreciate and thank Jesus for bearing our grief (pains) and sorrows (sickness) on His body. Thank Him for suffering for us that we may be healed by His stripes.
4. Matthew 15:26. Healing from God is for His children. If you are not His child, you are excluded from this divine "children's bread"! Today, repent of the sins that makes you Satan's child. Surrender your life to Jesus, so you can become a child of God.
5. Are you sick but had hitherto been seeking healing from Satan's source? May be your situation has even become complicated thereby! Today, repent of your misadventure. Ask Jesus to have mercy on you today [Matthew 15:21-22].
6. Are you in anyway sick? Do you have faith to receive God's healing today? If so, pray for His healing today [James 5:15]
7. Exodus 15:26, 3 John 2. Not only that God heals, He can also give sound health. He does not only heal, He makes whole. Today, prayerfully trust God for sound health.
8. Finally, ask God for however you desire this day to be for you and your all.

*THE FAMILY ALTAR*
_Wednesday, 19th of August, 2026_

Topic: *A FLAWED DIAMOND or A FLAWLESS PEBBLE?*

*Bible Text* : 2 Corinthians 6:14-17
_14. Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness? 15. And what accord has Christ with Belial? Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever? 16. And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said: "I will dwell in them And walk among them. I will be their God, And they shall be My people. 17. Therefore "Come out from among them And be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, And I will receive you."_ (NKJV)

· *Just a Charge* :
Diamond is a clear, very hard valuable stone, used in jewelry and in industry. It is a transparent, flawless or almost flawless piece of stone (extremely hard form of carbon, naturally crystalized in the isometric system). When cut and polished, it is valued as a precious gem. On the other hand, pebble is a small smooth stone found especially on a beach or on the bottom of a river. It is a transparent colorless rock crystal used, for example, for the lenses of eyeglasses. Both are useful stones; but one is more valuable and precious than the other. There is no doubt that a flawed (that is, almost flawless) diamond is more precious and of greater value than the smoothest and flawless pebble!

I liken a blood-bought child of God to diamond, and an unbeliever to a pebble. Yes, there can be some good values in a man or woman without Christ. He could be so nice, at least, in the surface. However, an “almost flawless” (that is, having some flaws) believer is kingdom-better than the “smoothest” believer! There is no cleanser of flaws (impurities, faults, weaknesses, etc.) as powerful and effective as the precious blood of Jesus Christ (1 John 1:7). By it, a Christian is able to obtain continual cleansing, thereby producing a better and better version of him or her, until he or she becomes “a precious gem”. The unbeliever has no such potential!

Here is a counsel for all Christian Singles: never be deceived, nor deceive yourself, into getting married to an unbeliever – because of real or perceived outward “flawlessness” that often cloaks the filthy flaws within! A flawed (imperfect, “almost flawless”) Christian is never to be compared with or preferred over a (seemingly, appealingly) flawless unbeliever. By the time the unbeliever’s corrosion begins to show off, it always ends the deceived in bitter regrets! Please safe yourself from such agony. Do not be unequally yoked in marriage with even “the best’ of unbeliever; for they will eventually manifest the nature and works of their father – the Devil!

I wish you a blessed day, in Jesus name.

· *Think upon this* :
A flawed (imperfect, “almost flawless”) Christian is never to be compared with or preferred over a (seemingly, appealingly) flawless unbeliever.

· *Today's scripture meditation* :
Proverbs 25:19
Confidence in an unfaithful man in time of trouble is like a broken tooth, and a foot out of joint. (KJV)

· *Prayer Points* :
1. Thank God for a new day alive by His grace.
2. Let us magnify our Creator. We are (man; humanity) the crown of His creation.
3. If you are not a Christian, however good you are, you are like mere pebble stone – you are limited in value in the sight of God! Today, repent of your sins (your alloy, corrosion) and come to Jesus by faith for His cleansing blood.

Please know that this could lead to irreparable damages to your life and destiny with much regrets in the end. Prayerfully change your mind on this and break away from the mindset and relationship today.
6. Are you married and your spouse, though a Christian, has some flaws? If so, thank God that he/she is a Christian! Prayerfully commit his/her flaws unto God, today.
