MAUNDY THURSDAY (HOLY THURSDAY)

A MESSAGE OF ASSURANCE FROM VEN. A. BABATUNDE JOHNSON FOR 2020 HOLY THURSDAY’

Christ‘s mandate is commensurate in shortened form of “Mandatum” (Latin) meaning “Command”.

It was on the Thursday of Christ’s trial week of being crucified and resurrected that he said this commandment to His disciple. Jesus and his disciples had just shared what was known as the last supper and he was washing their feet when He Stated a new commandment. John 13vs 34-35. A new commandment I give to you that you should love one another just as I have loved you. You also are to love one another.

1John 4vs 7-5 For love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God, anyone who does not love does not know God because God is love. Jesus humbled himself to wash the feet of his disciples and asked them to do likewise. Father, mother, Christians, sisters and brothers learn how to show love to one another. As an oppressor but at this hour let us change to new leaf, be your neighbors keeper.

Lastly, the Passover, Jesus turns the lamb and the unleavened bread that Israelites used to kill for the festival to himself Exodus 12:8-14, John 10:11.

I am the good shepherd, the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep. Jesus Christ gave us the example of what love is in Ephesians 5:2. And walk in love as Christ also has loved us and hath given himself for us as an offering and a sacrifice to god for a sweet smelling savior. Matthew 26: 26-28. And as they were eating. Jesus took bread and blessed it and break it and gave it to the disciples and said take eat, this is my body, and he took the cup and gave thanks and gave it to them saying drink ye all of it, for this is my blood of the new testament which is shed for many for the remission of sins. Therefore, brethren go display and show love towards your neighbor.

As we live, even at this crucial and memorable season of the Christendom, we should all learn from our Saviour, Jesus Christ to be a living example as many people are no more reading the Bible but Christian’s character.

The sacrifice that Christ Himself to will not be in vain in our lives and we will be much more alive in good health and fulfilments to witness more of this as Jesus tarries.

Blessed Sunday and a fruitful week ahead.

As regards this event, planning is at its peak for us to have a successful and impactful F.Y.S reunion.

Reminder...
The date for the FYS Reunion still stand, 12th October, 2019 starting from 9am venue is now Oniru Private beach by Sandfill Bus stop opp oriental hotel Lekki, Lagos

We will be glad to have all our married (women/ men) and distance members in our midst to celebrate with us and see to how to take our FYS to another height.

We also prayed that the good Lord will keep us to that day and beyond.

2019 COMMUNION PRAYER WEEK.

Welcome to the year, 2019 and note that the Universal Communion of African Church, annual universal week of prayer commence today Monday 7th to Friday 11th January, 2019 at all member Churches nationwide ( The African Episcopal Church, Nigeria, The African Church, The First African Church Mission, The United African Methodist Church). Time: 6pm
The theme for the week is "My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth" Psalm 121:2.

Endeavor to attend and observe the prayer session at your Church, your denomination's branch or any African Communion Church nearer to you.

Stay blessed as the covenant keeping God awaits you to bless and answer all your prayers as you truly looks onto him.

Be richly favoured this year and beyond, and the name of the Lord be glorified.

Austria on December 18, 2017 made history by electing the world's youngest president who is 31 years old.
His name is Sebastian Kurz, he is just 31 years old.
Before today's election, he was the country's foreign minister.
While our youths are contented with being used, praise singers and Special assistants on social media in Africa, youths elsewhere are disrupting the status quo, pushing for innovation, changing the narrative and pushing for the new frontier.
From Facebook to Snapchat and Taxify, these tech giants were founded by millennials who are youths.
Mark Zukerberg is just 32 years old and the youngest billionaire in the world.
The bar has been raised in Austria that elected a 31 years old man as its leader.
A 31 years old man in Africa is probably in his parents' house, unemployed and broke, eating free food and not bothered.
The 31 old Africans are feeling big supporting politicians (who directly or indirectly put us in the mess we are in) on Facebook without seeing the nexus between the failed leadership and present unemployment predicament.
I weep for our youths many of whom are wasting away forgetting that time waits for no one.
The condition in Africa is not helping matters though, and then my generation is not ready to push for change.
Those who have bank jobs think they are on top of the world, forgetting that the owners of the banks were Billionaires at their age.
The women get married and drive their husband's cars and think they have arrived.
I ask myself and other young people reading this, what are you doing with your life?
Are you happy with the way you are at the moment?
What are you doing to push for true change?

When Waiting

Series I: Trust God...Trust Gut!

Because He has not done it is not an indication He will not do it!

Welcome:
In waiting season (irrespective of what you are waiting on), the most trusted entity is one who know the end from inception - God!
Waiting period can be tough and depressing. It's usually a period where it seems nothing is working in your favour or everything has stopped. Some experience loneliness in this phase of life even if they are surrounded by loved ones. The trials of this time may even affect the subject's health and most disastrously, their faith - faith in God and in themselves. When this happen, they loose focus, and inferior/negative thoughts sets in.... I know, I have been there too!

Let me let you in on the process of things in life. No matter what you do or want from life there is a time lag between planting and harvesting... that period is regarded as waiting period. In your season of wait, the best thing to do is trust in God at all times. He brought you to it, He will definitely bring you through it.

Trusting God entails believing in the power and obeying his command. Trusting Gut is following what he has laid in your spirit to do. Your gut is the depository of his leading about the issue... Do not allow yourself to feel too small and or inferior. Trust your abilities and stick to His leading.

When you deposit all your hopes in him and abide by his leading, he will always give you breakthrough.

You will rejoice soon!

The Youth Wing of Christian Council of Nigeria (YOWICCN), Lagos State Chapter, wishes to use this medium to officially intimate you of her forth-coming WORKSHOP. The programme is organized with the aim of fostering a greater bond among the youths in the States CCN bloc while also providing a platform for addressing burning issues of national interest.

BEWARE WHEN YOU NOTICE ALL THESE IN YOUR LIFE.

1. Beware! When prayer becomes a difficult thing for you.

2. Beware! When fasting is becoming a history in your spiritual timetable.

3. Beware! When you no longer enjoy reading the word of God.

4. Beware! When attending church programme is becoming a burden rather than a blessing for you.

5. Beware! When living a life of holiness is appearing like extremism.

6. Beware! When sinful living becomes a lifestyle in the name of grace.

7. Beware! When you crave for earthly things rather than the things of God.

8. Beware! When waking up in the night to pray is becoming a thing of the past.

9. Beware! brethren, when your heart no longer desires to see the Lord Jesus one day.

10. Beware! when you eat more than pray

11. Beware! when you no longer share the word with others.

12. Beware! When u start diluting the preaching Word of God to keep people around you.

13. Beware! of all these, brethren, Satan isn't resting. We too must be vigilant.

14. Beware! When you spend more time on Facebook, whatsapp, twitter, and internet. These things become idols and take the place of God.
