WHEN THE REVIVALIST NEEDS REVIVAL
▪️A Cry From the Secret Place
I once sat with a young minister whose story shook me deeply. Years ago, he was the firebrand of his school campus fellowship.
When he lifted his voice in worship, you could almost feel heaven leaning closer. Prayer nights with him were unforgettable.
He was the kind of man who would enter a room and demons would grow restless.
But then life happened.
.. Ministry invitations came, applause grew louder, and slowly the private fire went out.
He told me with tears in his eyes, “Brother, I can still preach, but I no longer burn. People see me on stage and clap, but I know in my heart that something is missing. I am empty.”
That night, I realized something profound: revivalists themselves need revival.
🔥 When Strength Turns Into Ashes
Beloved, let’s be honest. Many of us once carried a flame that could set a whole street ablaze.
We prayed until our knees became familiar with the floor. We fasted until even our bodies testified that God was our hunger.
But where is that fire now?
Today, we see it more often:
- The pastor who preaches powerfully on Sunday but secretly battles depression on Monday.
- The intercessor who once shook the heavens but now sleeps at the sound of midnight.
- The young woman who once led worship until chains broke but now spends more time on Instagram than in the secret place.
Even in our local communities, I’ve seen zealous youths who once went from house to house sharing tracts now ashamed to even carry their Bible in public.
Why?
Because the fire is weak.
🔥Revival Is First Personal
I remember a sister who used to pray for five hours straight.
People mocked her then, but many also ran to her when they were sick or bound.
One day, she confided in me, “I can’t even pray for thirty minutes anymore.
The zeal I once had is gone. I feel like God is far.”
Her tears that day revealed a truth we often ignore: revival is not measured by how many people attend your meetings. It is measured by the fire on your own altar.
You cannot burn for a city if you don’t burn in your bedroom. You cannot cry “Send revival, Lord” when your own heart is cold.
🔥Creation Is Still Groaning
Romans 8:19 tells us: “For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.”
This means destinies are waiting for you to wake up. Every delay on your altar is delaying someone’s freedom.
Think of it this way:
- That cousin still trapped in immorality is waiting for your intercession.
- That family friend battling poverty may never break through unless you rise to war for them.
- That neighbor sinking into addiction might be saved if only your fire burns again.
... Each time we choose comfort over consecration, somebody pays the price.
Souls slip into eternity while we press snooze on the alarm of the Spirit.
🔥The Battle Is Real
In my hometown, I once met an elderly evangelist.
He told me, “Son, I preached the gospel in markets until policemen arrested me. I carried megaphones through the streets when nobody invited me....Today, young people want stages and microphones but not secret altars.”
His words pierced my heart.
...Revival is not about titles or platforms. It is about yielding yourself daily until you are a battle axe in the hand of God.
But what use is a blunt axe?
What use is a soldier who has left the battlefield for comfort?
🔥The Call To Rise Again
The Spirit is calling you back, not to shame you, but to revive you.
Just like Elijah, who was weary and ready to die, God is ready to feed you again and whisper, “What are you doing here?”
Just like David, who prayed, “Restore unto me the joy of Your salvation,” you can rise again.
Take back your midnight... 💪
Rebuild your altar of fasting... 💪
Pick up the Word not as a Sunday accessory, but as your sword... 💪
Silence distractions and give your heart wholly back to God... 💪
🔥 Go And Burn Again
- Generations are waiting.
- Nations are waiting.
- Your family is waiting.
- Heaven is waiting.
The trumpet is sounding again: “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” (Isaiah 6:8).
This time, let your answer come not with lips only, but with a consecrated life:
“Here am I, Lord.
- Burn me again.
- Use me again.
- Send me again.”
Beloved, the revivalist must first be revived.
Go and pray. 🔥
Go and burn. 🔥
Go and be the revival🔥
