REJOINDER: OBA OF LAGOS, HABA!!


Our attention has been attracted by the recent speech made by the Oba of Lagos: Oba Rilwan Akiolu as he dogmatically on Sunday encouraged a section of people resident in Lagos to vote for All Progressive Congress (APC) during the forthcoming gubernatorial elections or else the electorates would die in Lagoon. The Oba as a Royal Father had no legitimate right to impose party or individuals besides he is required to be neutral in spite of his esteemed needs and position.

We rebook his curse through this medium and implore all law abiding citizens resident in Lagos to go out en-mass and vote for JK Agbaje. The King should remember that the People Democratic Party (PDP) is not the property of a particular tribe. Besides nobody singlehandedly voted for the PDP or APC. The Oba has no justified right to curse his subjects. We caution him to reign by example. He should remember that the Nigeria citizen’s geographical locations are not sectional.

We quote the Oba “I’m not ready to beg you. Nobody knew how I picked Ambode. Jimi (Agbaje) is my blood relation and I told him that he cannot be governor in Lagos for now. The future belongs to God. I am not begging anybody, but what you people cannot do in Onitsha, Aba or anywhere, don’t do it here”

The will of God will prevail.

REMINDER: NOTICE OF BIMONTHLY MEETING

We wish to remind members of the ADC CMO of bimonthly meeting of the organisation holding on Saturday 31st May, 2014 with Mass by 11am at Catholic Church of Assumption, Falomo Ikoyi, Lagos. All members are required to attend in their CMO uniform promptly.

We regret as you could not read from us through SMS due to poor network and shall not hesitate to communicate with you as soon as the situation improved.

Above all, the Catholic Men Organisation Nigeria, Lagos Ecclesiastical Province (CMON LEP) comprising Abeokuta, Ijebu Ode Dioceses and Lagos Archdiocese are organizing a day leadership retreat with theme “BUILDING THE CHURCH THROUGH A MORE FOCUSED AND VIRILE CATHOLIC MEN ORGANISATION”. All Provincial, Archdiocesan, Dioceses, Deaneries and Parish officers of the organisation are required to attend with a token of =N=1,000.00 each to cover logistics.

The event will take place on Saturday 14th June, 2014 with accreditation of participants by 9a.m. at St Agnes Catholic Church, Maryland Lagos.
