Celestial Church of Christ Omo Alade Alafia Parish [formally called Pedro Parish] could be likened to a grain of mustard seed, which a man took and cast into his garden, and it grew and waxed a great tree. Omo Alade Alafia Parish took its root from a small shop at 19, Johnson Street, Pedro, which was leased from one old woman called Mama Theresa [of blessed memory] who invariably became a member o
f the church before her demise. Worship commence at a dedication service on the 16th of May, 1975. The shepherd then was senior leader Kayode Solate [of blessed memory] at which time a shepherd was being addressed as LEADER. Close to him in rank and co-founder were leader S. Oluwo and Assistant Leader M. Onaojobi, Senior Elder Obafisan who later joined them. In one of the devotional service during the week, early in 1976, a parcel placed in a thanksgiving tray and upon opening, it was discovered to contain documents relating to a piece of land located at Omo Alade Alafia Street been donated to the church by Dr. Adeniyi Adebiyi. By the special grace of God the foundation of the first church was laid after the Adult harvest thanksgiving that took place Sunday in September, 1976. The name Pedro Parish was changed to Omo Alade Alafia Parish mid 1985.
