Shalom sis. Concerning Matthew 24:32, we must rightly divide the Word and place prophecy in its proper order.

Jesus said in Matthew 24:32–33:

«“Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh.”»

This was not merely a lesson about nature. It was a prophetic sign connected to Israel and the end time.

Throughout Scripture, Israel is symbolized by a fig tree:

- Hosea 9:10
- Joel 1:7
- Jeremiah 24
- Mark 11 where Jesus cursed the fig tree

The fig tree represents the Jewish nation. So when Jesus said the fig tree would put forth leaves again, He was speaking of Israel returning to national life after centuries of dispersion.

After Jerusalem was destroyed in 70 AD, the Jewish people were scattered worldwide for nearly 2,000 years. Yet Bible prophecy declared they would return to their land in the last days.

Then in 1948, Israel became a nation again exactly as the prophets foretold. This was one of the greatest prophetic signs in modern history. A nation scattered for almost two millennia returned with its identity, language, and homeland restored.

That is why many prophetic teachers identify 1948 as the fig tree putting forth leaves.

Notice carefully:
Jesus did not say the fig tree produced fruit.
He said it produced leaves.

Leaves speak of national restoration.
Fruit points to spiritual restoration.

Israel today is restored politically and nationally, but nationally they have not yet accepted Jesus Christ as Messiah. Their spiritual awakening comes later according to prophecy.

Zechariah 12:10 says:

«“They shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn…”»

Romans 11 teaches that blindness in part has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles comes in. Then Israel will experience national awakening.

This reveals two prophetic phases:

1. National restoration — Israel returns to the land
2. Spiritual restoration — Israel recognizes Messiah

This pattern is also seen in Ezekiel 37:
First the dry bones came together.
Then flesh appeared.
Finally breath entered them.

The nation returned first before spiritual life came.

Now look carefully at what happened around Israel from 2017–2022. These events made many prophecy watchers pay close attention because Israel became the center of world events exactly as Scripture foretold.

2017:
The United States officially recognized Jerusalem as Israel’s capital. This was historic because Jerusalem became the central focus of global attention again.

2018:
The U.S. embassy moved to Jerusalem during Israel’s 70th anniversary. Many believers connected this prophetically to restoration and covenant timing.

2019:
Israel experienced unusual political instability with repeated elections, showing increasing pressure around the nation and leadership.

2020:
The Abraham Accords were signed. Arab nations such as UAE and Bahrain normalized relations with Israel. Many saw this as preparing the geopolitical stage for future Middle East prophecy.

2021:
Massive conflict erupted again between Israel and Gaza. Jerusalem remained at the center of international tension, exactly as Zechariah prophesied that Jerusalem would become “a burdensome stone” to all nations.

2022:
Global attention toward Israel intensified even more with rising Temple discussions, increasing Middle East alliances, wars and rumors of wars, and worldwide instability after the pandemic era.

All these events point to one reality:
Israel is God’s prophetic timepiece.

Jesus said when you see the fig tree putting forth leaves, know that summer is near. The re-emergence of Israel and the increasing global focus upon Jerusalem are signs that prophetic events are moving toward fulfillment.

But we must also remember:
The greatest sign is not merely watching Israel politically. The greatest preparation is spiritual readiness.

Jesus ended Matthew 24 by warning believers to watch, pray, and be ready.

So the fig tree is not merely about repentance alone. The leaves first represent Israel’s national restoration. The spiritual fruit comes afterward according to prophecy.

Psalm of the Mined Field · A Prayer
Where the Ground
Keeps Its Secrets
I — Lament
O Lord, the field is beautiful from a distance —
the grasses bend, the poppies bloom,
the children run toward it
not knowing what sleeps beneath their feet.
We have made the earth a mouth that does not speak
until it speaks too late.
Selah.

II — Accusation
Who buried the harvest of hatred here,
pressed into the clay like a seed of iron,
patient as a stone, forgetful as no man should be?
Someone walked away and left the war
still fighting from underground.
Year after year after year after year.
Selah.

III — The Cry of the Wounded
The shepherd loses the path home.
The farmer stops at the edge of his own land.
The child who chased a ball
does not come back whole.
God of the living, hear them —
the ones who stepped into the silence
and the silence answered in fire.

Yet I believe — against all buried evidence —
that the earth is redeemable.
That holy ground is not only Sinai,
not only the garden at daybreak —
but every field returned to bare feet,
every acre where a child runs
and the ground holds its peace,
and the silence is only wind,
and the wind is only grace.

Make us instruments of clearing, O Lord.
Let us not plant what we will not harvest.
Let us not walk away from what we have buried.
Let the earth be holy.
Let the children run.
Let the fields be fields again.
