Below is the response of Theophilus Adegboye on the question, if TFACM and the African Church are the same?

No, they are not the same. While The First African Church Mission was founded in 1891 by 9 people from different denominations with the name 'United Native African Church (UNA). The name was latter changed to 'The First African Church Mission sometimes in the 1980s. The African Church on the other hand was a splinter group of 600 people from the Anglican Church in the year 1901. Both have their headquarters on Broad Street of Lagos Island, Lagos State.

Answer by Safaratu to the question if The First African Church mission is the same as the African Church? Read below:

The main difference between The First African Church Mission and The African Church is in their history, year of establishment, and origin, although both are African-founded churches in Nigeria.

First African Church Mission African Church

Founded in 1891 Founded in 1901
Originally called United Native African Church (UNAC) Formed after disagreement with Anglican missionaries
Founded by a group known as the Immortal Nine to create a church governed by Africans Founded by Africans led by people like Jacob Kehinde Coker after protest against European control in Anglican worship
Focused on evangelizing Africans and self-governance Kept many Anglican traditions in worship and structure

The First African Church Mission started earlier and was created mainly so Africans could have a church managed by Africans without foreign control.

The African Church came later in 1901 after some Africans separated from the Anglican Church because of disagreements over leadership and worship style. It still follows many Anglican traditions such as baptism, holy communion, and church structure.

In simple words: First African Church Mission came first (1891) and was founded as an independent African church, while African Church started later (1901) after separating from the Anglican Church.

TOPIC: GIVING HAS ITS OWN REWARD

TEXT: 2 CORINTHIANS 12:10-15

MESSAGE
The apostle Paul wrote _“I don’t want what you have - I want you - I will gladly spend myself and all I have for you, even though it seems that the more I love you, the less you love me.” (2 Corinthians 12:14-15 NLT) Paul found his greatest fulfillment in giving, not receiving. For him, giving was its own reward. For him, being successful meant making others successful. For him, being joyful meant bringing joy to others.
That’s because he didn’t look to people for his reward, but to God. "Remember that, the Lord will reward each one of us for the good we do.” (Ephesians 6:8 NLT)
The hardest thing for most of us is fighting our natural tendency to put ourselves first. That’s why it’s important to continually examine your motives and make sure you’re not sliding back into selfishness. If you want to check your motives, follow the example of Benjamin Franklin. Every day he asked himself two questions:
1. When he got up in the morning he would ask, 'What good am I going to do today?
2. Before he went to bed, he would ask, 'What good have I done today?
If you can answer those questions with selflessness and integrity, you can keep yourself on track.
Seeing those in needs and giving to meet that need, keeps your priorities and perspective right. It increases the quality of life for both the giver and the receiver. The truth is, there is no life as empty as the self-centered life.
And there is no life as centered as the self-emptied life.

TAKE THE HYMN:
TFACM English Hymnal 517 (SS&S 621) – I Gave My Life for Thee

PRAYER POINTS:
1. Thank God for the word today.
2. Take away every spirit of stinginess in me.
3. My Father and my God, today I resolve to be a giver.
4. Father, in line with Your word, make my soul fat as I give liberally.
