MY LORD AND SAVIOR, NOT MY WILL, BUT YOURS
- A Devotional Faith-Confession for Spirit-Filled Believers in This New Millennium

INTRODUCTION: THE CRY OF TOTAL SURRENDER
In every generation, God seeks a people who will not merely profess faith, but embody surrender. The greatest test of spiritual maturity is not in gifts, eloquence, or public ministry—but in the quiet place where the human will bows to the divine will.
The prayer, “Not my will, but Yours be done,” is not a casual statement—it is the highest expression of yieldedness, the ultimate sacrifice of self, and the gateway into divine purpose.
In the Garden, at the threshold of suffering and glory, our Lord demonstrated the pattern for every Spirit-filled believer. His submission was not born out of weakness, but out of perfect alignment with the Father.
This devotional is a call to arise—to stand firm in Christ Jesus in this New Millennium, where pressures increase, distractions multiply, and the line between flesh and Spirit must be clearly drawn.
THE GARDEN EXPERIENCE: WHERE WILLS COLLIDE
In Matthew 26:38–46, we witness a sacred moment:
• The burden of destiny presses heavily upon Christ
• His soul is sorrowful, even unto death
• The disciples sleep while the Master wrestles
• Heaven watches as earth trembles
Here, two realities confront each other:
✓ The natural desire to avoid suffering
✓ The divine mandate to fulfill redemption
Jesus prays three times—not because He doubted, but because surrender is often a process, not a one-time event.
“If it be possible… nevertheless…”
This reveals a powerful truth:
The flesh may speak first—but the Spirit must have the final word.
THE WEAKNESS OF THE FLESH VS THE STRENGTH OF THE SPIRIT
“Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”
This is the condition of many believers today:
• A willing spirit but an undisciplined flesh
• A hunger for God but a lifestyle of distraction
• A call to greatness but a resistance to process
To stand firm in Christ:
🙏 You must train your spirit through prayer
➕ You must subdue your flesh through discipline
🔥 You must remain alert in a sleeping world
Spiritual victory is not accidental—it is cultivated.
THE COMMAND TO BE STRONG AND COURAGEOUS
In Joshua 1:6–9, the Lord commands:
✅ Be strong
✅✅ Be courageous
✅✅✅ Observe the Word
✅✅✅✅ Do not turn aside
✅✅✅✅✅Meditate day and night
Why? Because surrender does not eliminate challenges—it empowers you to overcome them.
God’s will is not always comfortable, but it is always purposeful.
THE MYSTERY OF THE END-TIME BELIEVER
Daniel 12:9 reminds us that certain truths are reserved for the end-time generation.
We are that generation.
⁉️ A time of increased knowledge
⁉️ A time of spiritual conflict
⁉️ A time where true believers must stand apart
In such a time, casual Christianity cannot survive.
Only those who are:
➕ Rooted in the Word
🕊️ Led by the Spirit
🔥 Fully surrendered to God’s will
🕊️🔥☀️…will stand firm.
THE POWER OF “THY WILL BE DONE”
When a believer truly says, “Thy will be done,” several things happen:
1. Self loses control
2. Fear loses its grip
3. Purpose becomes clear
4. Grace becomes sufficient
5. God takes over the outcome
Surrender is not defeat—it is divine alignment.🕊️🔥❤️
DEVOTIONAL FAITH CONFESSION
Declare this daily with conviction:
My Lord and my Savior,
I yield my will to You.
Not my desires, not my plans, not my understanding—
But Your perfect will be done in my life.
When my flesh is weak, strengthen my spirit.
When my heart is troubled, anchor me in Your truth.
When the path is difficult, remind me of Your purpose.
I choose obedience over comfort,
Submission over self,
Purpose over pleasure.
I will watch and pray.
I will stand and not fall.
I will follow and not turn back.
In this generation, I arise—
As a Spirit-led, Spirit-filled believer,
Standing firm in Christ Jesus.
Not my will…
But Yours be done.
Amen.
FINAL CHARGE: RISE AND WALK IN SURRENDER
Beloved, the hour is at hand.
Just as Christ told His disciples:
“Rise, let us be going…”
This is not a time to sleep spiritually.
It is a time to:
🙏🔥 Rise in prayer
❤️🙏 Rise in obedience
🕊️🔥❤️ Rise in spiritual authority
The one who surrendered in Gethsemane triumphed at Calvary.
And the believer who learns surrender will walk in victory.
CLOSING REFLECTION
Ask yourself daily:
❓ Where am I resisting God’s will?
❓❓ What is God asking me to surrender?
❓❓❓ Am I watching and praying, or sleeping spiritually?
Your answer determines your strength in this generation.
