*LET GOD ARISE!* ( PT 1)

Dearly beloved, may God arise for you today and always in Jesus name.

In PS 68: 1-2, the Bible says;

*"Let God arise, let his enemies be scattered: let them also that hate him flee before him. As smoke is driven away, so drive them away: as wax melteth before the fire, so let the wicked perish at the presence of God"*

Beloved, arise means get up or stand up.
It could also mean emerge or become apparent.

When the Psalmist therefore said "let God arise" it simply means let God get up, let God stand up or let God emerge or become apparent in my present situation.

Secondly, when a person gets up it's definitely to take action. No one gets up if there is no action to take. Likewise our God. So, " let God arise" could also mean let God arise and take action against my enemies as it is written in PS 68:1-2.

Beloved, the question is what will give you the audacity to ask the Maker of heaven and earth to arise and fight for you? What will give you the boldness to ask the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords to arise and solve all your problems? What will make God to emerge or become apparent in your present situation?

Please note that:

( i) Your praise, worship and thanksgiving is strong enough to make Him arise and intervene in your situation. Have you given Him quality praise and worship today? - EX 15:11-12, 2 CHR 20: 22-24.

He will arise when you praise Him purposely and intentionally because your praise is a direct invitation to God to come and abide with you. When the Almighty abides with you who can withstand you? - PS 22:3

Beloved, if you want God to arise for you please give Him quality praise, worship and thanksgiving today and everyday of your life.

In conclusion, if you want God to see you as one of those who are qualified to ask Him to arise on their behalf please become one of His own by surrendering your life to Jesus today.

Praise God intentionally today and He will arise for you! Halleluyah.

WHAT IS LOVE?

Years ago, when I lived in *Lugbe,* a suburb in *Abuja,* a number of girls lived in a building adjacent to me. They strictly lived to be picked up by men.

The girls will *go out at night* and return the following *morning.* I, and other neighbors were *angry.* The girls were very noisy. They never cared who their noise disturbed.

One day, the landlord had enough. *He evicted all of them.* Their properties were thrown out. All the girls found somewhere else to relocate, *except one.* She had no place to go.

She kept her belongings in our building corridor, and on nights that she was home, she'd sleep there... *and that was on most nights.*

The tenants in the building, *including my husband and I,* met to plan how to put her and her belongings out. *Surprisingly,* one tenant, *a woman* was against the idea. She asked, "What would you all do if this girl was *your daughter, sister or relative?"* She told us that this girl and her friends have, no doubt made *wrong choices.* But she reminded us that we too, *at some point* in our past also made wrong choices. But God still held us close to His heart and saved us. She cautioned us as Christians to *consider what Jesus would do.*

Everyone was quiet. But none suggested any way to help the *now homeless* lady.

Later on, the same woman who defended her at the tenant meeting had a talk with her husband. They agreed to house the girl *in their moderate apartment.*

They invited the girl into their home and told her she could stay with them. The homeless girl was shocked when the woman said to her, *"We know what you do for a living.* And you are free to go out at night and come back the next day if that's what you choose to do. Feel free to eat our food. Use the other bedroom. It is yours *as long as you live here.* Live like one of us. We did not bring you in to judge you. But we will continue to pray for you. Hopefully, the spirit will talk to you..., *at your own time."*

_The girl was dumbfounded._ And she cried. At nights, *she stayed home.* Going out to look for men gradually became a thing of her past.

She would join the family for morning devotion *and go to church with them on Sundays.*

One day, the woman, *now her landlord of sorts* told her of her husband's decision to pay for her to register in a university. The lady gained admission into a university. *She graduated on top of her class* and got a good job. But even before she graduated, with a university grant for outstanding students, *she had started a business* of her own.

Today, when you enter her office, she has this woman and her husband's photo on the wall behind her desk. The photo has the inscription, _*" " 'My parents,' the only Christians I know''.*_

Folks, what is love? Many Christians cannot answer to this question. We resist the true essence of love.

The truth is, "Christ died for us.'' Why would a righteous man die for sinners? That's what love is.

What can you do for someone even against your intrinsic instincts?

Every one we have chosen not to forgive, deserve forgiveness. That is the sacrifice that a true Christian, who shows true love makes.

*Love is not the practice of loving beautiful people. True love is shown by being willing to truly love those that many look down upon.*

_*How many less fortunate people have you taken home from church after service to feed? Why do we feed the rich, and don't feed the needy?*_

Why do we scorn people who look like prostitutes? We look at children who look unkept and we shake our heads in disapproval, warning our children to avoid such people.

But what kind of people do we think that heaven is waiting up there for?

Let's not lose the purpose of life because of what we have almost achieved.

Can someone say of you, *"I met a true believer in you?"*
Think about it.

~ Always remember that finding satisfaction in the pain of others will never bring you true happiness.
~ Always remember that what you wish others is a prayer for yourself.
• Become the good fire that genuinely lights up others, not one that ruins the joy, goodwill and expectation of others.
• Never take delight in causing pain or sponsoring the tears of another.
• Allow the true FEAR OF GOD to guide your days, STRENGTHEN YOUR RELATIONSHIPS and SET YOUR COURSE.
This is the path to true peace, lasting influence and meaningful living!

10 THINGS THAT STILL SURPRISE ME ABOUT THE LOCAL CHURCH.
If you read my books and write up often, you will know I love the local church and have a divine mandate for her health. That doesn’t mean, though, that the local church never drives me crazy. In fact, here are things that still surprise me about churches after about 30 years in ministry:
1.Many still think the church belongs to them.
Yes, church leaders don't actually use those words verbally, but they protect their turf and their traditions like guarding their home. Many leaders still do church as if it's their personal enterprise.
2.Many leaders behave as if God will lower His Standards for them:
Am still surprised that lots of modern church leaders still thinks that God will lower His holy and high standards of getting to heaven for them and their members. They therefore do church as if they have another heaven to take people to, rather than the heaven of the bible.
3.We mortgage the person and position of the Pastor:
It is still amazing to know that many denominations still compromise the person and position of the local church pastor. Deacons, elders, boards and committees are allowed to dominate pastors. Pastors are not equipped to be healthy to lead the church forward, thinking that the local church can survive without a healthy pastor.
4.Some assume that grace allows us to do anything without consequences:
Cheap grace teachings have given room to open rebellion,wayward living, idolatry and covetous practices that drags the name of the Lord in the mud in modern churches. Yet, we assume that God will smile over them and forget them without judging the sin we knew but never repents from wholeheartedly.
5.Many apparently think that ongoing, open sin among leaders is not a problem.
At least, it appears that way when churches have no commitment to godly, redemptive church discipline. We gloss over, pamper and sweep many leadership sins under the carpet, thinking that things will sort itself out eventually. That's a surprise, because that's not the uniform testimony of the bible
6.The local church is not an entertainment and ceremonial center, but an army barrack.
We’re in a spiritual battle (Eph. 6:10-12), and the church should gather for recruitment, equipping, empowering and encouragement to go out into the conflict again. But a great amazement that many local churches are amusement, fun, pleasure and social retreat centers to simply enjoy ourselves on weekends today.
7.Maladministration is still being used to incapacitate lots of local churches:
It never ceases to amaze me that we still use wrong administration, management and leadership to render local churches toothless bulldog to impact their localities through central control and heavy financial burdens. Many local churches are unable to affect their localities positively due to overbearing controls and administrative stupidity,sickness and satanic.
8.Many still see their church building as an end in itself:
That is why we spend so much to make the physical building look great, but don't do much to take care of the spiritual life of the real church-people. Building a physical structure has become a competition among top church leaders today, yet, the real church remains unbuilt for the Lord. We easily forget that Jesus is not coming to rapture a physical building, but blood washed, sanctified and devoted disciples of His, anytime from now.
9.Many still depends on their own effort, not the Holy Spirit of God:
Ultimately, the Holy Spirit is the true vicar of the church and only He can bring genuine and balance growth, health to the body of Christ through His gifts and manifestations. Yet, it remains surprising today that many church leaders would rather depend on their secular education, reasonings, mindsets and expertise to run and lead their churches. Some have even gone to the extent of using spurious powers, strange miracles and fake gifts to manipulate "growth" in their churches.
10.Many are still proclaiming watered down and compromised gospel.
The gospel many are preaching today cannot save from sin and a Christless eternity. The gospel that cannot bring radical transformation, turnaround and powerful change to people, set them free from sin,Satan and sicknesses, plus making them to live victoriously for Christ is not Christ's gospel. But sadly, that is what is coming from most pulpits today, which have left most churches in spiritual comatose.
I say it again even as I pen these facts, I love the local church. We just have a long way to go if we are going to have healthy, rupturable local churches.

*THINGS THAT EVERY PASTOR AND SERVANT OF GOD NEED TO KNOW AND UNDERSTAND*
1- Never curse a person because they left the church that you lead not to say your church.
* Galatians 3:13
1- Never turn a person into your enemy because they left the church that you lead.
* Hebrew 12:14
3- know that you do not own anyone in that Church.
* 1Peter 5:2.
4- That they accepted to be members in that Church doesn't mean they can't decide for themselves.dont take them for granted.
* 2corithians3:17
5- Know that you are not their God, but you are also a child of God raised by God's grace to lead them in the WAYS of God.
* 1Corithians 15:10.
5- Realise that you also need to continue with your journey of growth in maturity even as you lead them. You have not arrived yet.
* Ephesians 4:13.
6- Know that are not the final authority in their lives But God is. You are serving them on behalf of God.
* John 21:17.
7- Know that it is God who blesses people, Not you. As a matter of fact you also need to be blessed by God just like them.
* Ephesians 1:3.
8-Realise that you are not ordained to be a GO between the members and God. They have direct access to the Father just like you. Everybody can ask Him.
* Mathews 7:7.
9-You are not called to kill, but to give life. The very life you received from God. Jesus came to give life and has given us the ministry of reconciliation. Killing is of the devil.
* John 10:10b
* 2Corinthians 5:18.
10- Realise that people will join and others will leave the church for many or no reason at all. Don't take it personal. Get used to that.
* John 6:66
11- Know that you can't be an effective leader without a Big Heart always ready to forgive just As God has and is continuing to forgive you also.
* Matthew 6:14.
12- Get this truth in you that God is not mad and Angry when you are. God is not emotional like you.the anger of man does not accomplish the will of God.
GOD belongs to everybody.
* Ephesians 4:26.
13- Learn to cast your hurts as a servant to God. He knows how to take care of you.
* Matthew 11:28.
14- Accept the fact that your role is to prepare them for the work of ministry by equiping them just as you yourself were also equipped.
* Ephesians 4:11-13.
15- Know that you are not more special to God than your members even if you are more gifted than them(which sometimes is not the case) because that is the working of the Holy Spirit. GOD IS NOT A RESPECTER OF PERSONS.
* 1Peter 2:9.
17- Know that you never became God just because you are called into the 5fold ministry. You are still a human being with limitations and also in need of God. Keep your rank.
* James 5:17.
* 2 Corinthians 4:7
18- Be therefore humble and serve God's people under your Care with LOVE and GRACE.
* Galatians 4:19.
19-Always consider it a privilege to be called a servant of God. It is by His grace and not by your MERITE.
* 1 Corinthians 15:10.
20- GOD BLESS YOU, you are doing a Noble task.
* 1 Timothy 3:1.

Marriages 🙋🏻‍♂

Most times when a marriage is in trouble, people tend to see their Marriage as a mistake rather than seeing the mistakes they are making in their marriage. At this point they regret marrying their wife or husband, begin to think of a new partner, imagine marrying their ex or fantasizing a marrriage without issues.

Some even divorce or remarry and later wish they had remained with their first Spouse, as they find greater trouble in the new spouse. This is because the first marriage was not a mistake, and the mistake has not been discovered yet.

So you can remarry as many times as you like, you will still experience problems in marrriage until you discover the mistakes you are making in your marrriage and correct them.

So divorce or separation is not a solution to consider when you are having problems with your marrriage.

When your car has a flat tyre, you do not abandon it, but change the tyre and move on.

When we have a headache, no matter how excruciating, we do not cut off the head but take care of the headache.

When a bulb blows out in the room we do not change the room or the house, we replace the bulb and light up the room.

When we have challenges at work, we do not refuse to go to work, we go there to solve the problems.

So when marriage has an issue, we don't have to try to change the spouse instead of changing the attitude that is creating the problem.

Most times when we see some couples enjoying their marriages and enjoying each other to the fullest, we admire and cherish them, but the opposite is seen in our own marriage. The reason is that some people have worked on their marriage by paying the necessary price and that is why they are enjoying the fruits of their labour. It is said, “The way you make your bed is the way you will lie on it”.

Your marriage is as good or as sweet as you make it. Some couples, because of the negative things they are seeing in their marriage, accuse each other of being responsible. They point accusing fingers at each other for being responsible. Some even say many bad things about their spouse, even calling him or her names; some think that marrying that man or that woman was a mistake.

It is not so, your marriage was not a mistake, but you are the mistake.

Your habit is the mistake
Your character is the mistake
Your manner, anger, unforgiveness, laziness, lack of love, lack of affection, lack of attention, impatience, bitterness, selfishness, ignorance, stinginess, not being considerate, infidelity and lovelessness are the mistakes.

Talking about bitterness. Some still dream of a marriage with their ex seeing your spouse as a stumbling block. Wake up to the smell of coffee. Be content with your spouse. That behavior is your mistake.

So get up now and build your marriage because it is not a mistake.
Divorce or separation are never options.

ANGER IS A CHOICE
Sometimes ago, someone added me to a WhatsApp group without my permission. I decided to stay in the group because I know him very well; of which I am still a member of the group till today.
But one fateful day, I posted an article that was not in line with the purpose of the group. Although it was a mistake, a Pastor who was one of the Admins of the group came after me like a roaring lion as if it was more than the article I shared. His beautiful wife also joined him to rebuke me seriously! What?
When I saw all the drama, I replied, Oh, I am sorry it was a mistake. Please forgive me Sir and Ma'am.
That was the end. My reply humbled the Man and his Wife. They later apologized to me too.
Have you ever wondered the power of the word sorry? Sorry is indeed a powerful word that calms. As much as possible, learn to say sorry. Always try to make peace when someone or your Partner is angry. Say sorry; acknowledge your faults and you would be amazed at your Partner’s reaction.
Don’t be too proud to say sorry because if you are too proud to say "I am sorry", your relationship/
marriage may soon be in a "sorry state".
A week later, the Pastor's Wife sent me a Facebook friend request. I accepted her and she became one of my active followers.
Two months after our Facebook friendship, she ordered all my fourteen ebooks then and registered herself and her Husband for our online marriage school.
After their graduation from the marriage school, I was invited as a Guest Speaker to their church couples program. Today, I am their marriage Mentor and they have recommended me to so many Pastors.
Proverbs 15:1 says: A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.
If I had responded to them negatively, it would have stirred up anger and I would have lost something great forever. Truly, our reaction to negative situations shows how mature we are.
There are people who are sent by God to add value to your destiny, your meeting point might be at a fighting point. Be wise, even when you are angry.
In a relationship, there are certain times you would get to see your Partner upset, and how you react can even make your Partner extremely upset.
Anger is one trait that kills many relationships. It is a relationship destroyer and if care is not taken, it would lead to so many other things. The ability to handle anger properly is really important. When you don’t handle anger properly, you'll ruin your relationship with people.
Anger is a choice! You have the power to make choices. Whenever anyone does or says anything offensive to you either online or offline, it is in your hands to decide your reaction.
It is better to keep quiet and people think you're a fool than for you to open your mouth and they confirm you are truly a fool.
Proverbs 17:28 says: Even a fool who keeps silent is considered wise; when he closes his lips, he is deemed intelligent.
May the Lord give us the spirit of self control in Jesus name, Amen.

*TAKE ACTION!*

Dearly beloved, may the Lord order your steps in the right direction this year in Jesus name.

According to JER 4:23 God looked into the earth and all He saw was darkness and disorderliness. He did not only see, He made up His mind to correct the situation. He made up His mind to bring about a new order. He did not just make up His mind to bring about a new order, He took immediate action according to GEN 1:3-4

*"I looked on the earth, and behold, it was without form and void; and to the heavens, and they had no light"* ( JER 4:23 ESV)......

*And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. And God saw that the light was good. And God separated the light from the darkness.* ( GEN 1:3-4 )

*BE INSPIRED:* In the beginning, God saw darkness and disorderliness. He made up His mind to change the situation and He took immediate action to achieve His plan, the result is the world we live in today!

Beloved, what goals have you set for yourself this year? What goals have you set for yourself as a child of God? To achieve your goals you have got to take action immediately!

Be like your maker, be like your Father in heaven. Don't wait until you have all the money available before you start that business. Start with the little you have now and you will greatly rejoice one day very soon.

You want a new wine in your marriage? Don't wait until your spouse begs you. Take action, be the peace maker!

You want to do a new thing for God? Don't wait until the majority cooperate with you. Start with the few willing co-operators. Take action now and others will join when they see your achievements.

You want to be a prayer champion this year? Take action begin to pray anyhow.

Beloved, if you wait until everything is right or set you won't achieve much. Take action now. Delay could be dangerous.

In conclusion, are you there and you need to surrender your life to Jesus? Backslider, are you there and you need to reconcile with Jesus? Take action now. Remember, the prodigal son did not get a new life until he took immediate action. He said " I will arise and go to my father" and he arose immediately and went to his father! Take immediate action, Jesus is ready to receive you now.

Bible Text: Exodus 3:1-12
A CALL TO LEADERSHIP POSITION
“So now, go. I am sending you to Pharaoh to bring my people the Israelites out of Egypt” Exodus 3:10
A Baptist Student Fellowship member hid himself when he learnt he was being considered as the fellowship’s President. His colleagues found him, carried him but he was weeping because he knew the task ahead of him.
Gideon and Jeremiah shivered and trembled when God extended His call to them. Moses, in our passage today, struggled and argued with God vehemently when God called him. However, after much struggle, Moses accepted the call of God and took up the responsibility. He later became one of the greatest leaders that ever lived.
The call of God to leadership position is tough because it requires God’s power. God can use anyone but we need to be sensitive to our different assignments. God’s presence is a guarantee for success in every area of ministry. When we allow God to work in and through us, the burden of leadership becomes bearable; but trying to do things with human effort leads to frustration.
Are you struggling to respond to God’s call because of certain circumstances? Why not meditate very well on today’s passage and allow God to have His way? His presence is ever sufficient for you. He will surely see you through.
Insight: - Be sure of God’s calling upon your life and yield to it.
Prayer: - My Father, let me experience Your presence in my area of assignment.
