When God Fights Your Battles . .

The devil is good at being bad. Knowing our weaknesses, he camps out with bated breath just waiting for his chance to launch his missiles. And he does it with extreme accuracy. The good news is we can begin to recognize his tactics and watch his attempts be thwarted. How? By saturating ourselves with Scripture. By reading about the triumphs of those who stumbled before us. By believing God is bigger than Satan's best shots. Remembering why the enemy continues to hit us where he does is essential.

Weak Spots Work

If we become increasingly aware of our areas of struggle and rely on God's strength in those areas, eventually they will not be the targeted areas. The only reason they are revisited is because Satan has success there. It's a spiral that we can get out of. We need to believe that God is bigger than those areas of our lives. The truth is, God is bigger than any weakness .

Look at God's Record

It's helpful in our battles to remember God's track record. He has proven himself in each of our lives. I need to remember what he did in my life because that's the life I'm living. And while I can learn from the stories of others, it's important to look back and see his faithfulness to me.

David went against Goliath, not because he was feeling particularly giant-strong one day, but he remembered God was with him—the very same God who gave him strength when he stood eye to eye with a bear—the same God who showed up when a lion crossed his path. David's trust needed to be in the right place, in God. Once that was established he stepped out.

And when Saul tried arming David with something that might have worked for Saul, David dismissed it. Not merely because of the obvious, the poor fit, but because God was the one who would do the fighting and he fights armor-free.

All Is Not Some

Satan is a word-twister. He did it in the garden when Eve was in the mood for a piece of fruit and he still does it today. He has found we are more apt to swallow half-truths than blatant lies. When we choose to trust God and start walking in faith, Satan whispers that God can do a lot, he can even do many things, but not all things. But Numbers 23:19 tells us that God is not a man that he should lie. If God said "all things," then that's exactly what he meant.

Challenges teach us two things; something about God, and something about us. If we choose to believe that God will give us the victory, we will see ringside just how powerful God is. If, instead, we choose to trust in our own strength or intelligence, we will quickly see how inadequate we are. We need to truly believe John 15:5, which says that we can do nothing apart from him.

Grace Is New Every Morning

One thing I love about God's grace is how fresh it is. We don't have to subsist on yesterday's leftovers, adding a little more of this or that, hoping it will be enough for what we face today. We don't have to beg, borrow, or steal someone else's grace because ours is depleted from the day before. As each day unfolds, we have a fresh supply of grace.

God knows what I will encounter today since he has already been here. He is the God of all time. He is never caught off guard by our trials; he's always at his post, ever ready. So I can get up, wipe the sleep from my eyes, and know with certainty that I will have enough grace for whatever he places before me.

Note: I did not say I will have enough grace for tomorrow. There's a big difference. Many times I'll worry about things in the future and wonder why I don't have the resources to deal with them. The Cliff Note answer is that if it's not in our present, it's not on God's list for us today.

If I want to be a responsible Christian, it means that I need to respond to what God wants me to do, limiting myself to only what he puts before me. God knows how much grace to dispense to me, just as he supplied the Israelites with the right amount of manna. If they tried stockpiling it, it was ruined.

God Is the Ultimate Transformer

God is in the renovation business. He takes wounded sinners who are weak and instead of just obliterating the weak spots, he camps out there. He strengthens us in the areas we need, becoming what we lack. And he does it for a couple of reasons.

He loves us. Look in the mirror. See that person before you with the doubting eyes? Well, he not only created that person, fashioning each and every detail, counting each single hair, but he genuinely loves the person reflected before you.
He is God. He will get the glory. He is the only one who deserves the glory. The more obvious it is that you don't have what it takes to be victorious, the more you can trust that he will step in. He's the God of the final hour, the last curtain, the impossibilities. He loves it when we stand with gaping mouths, recognizing what he did. So why not give him every opportunity to show us?
We have a choice. We can continue to try to do things in our own strength, peter out and falter, or we can recognize as it says in 2 Chronicles 20:15 that the battle is the Lord's. The battle is his, but the victory is ours.

If we let God fight our battles, we'll always be on the winning side.

THERE IS NO PERFECT MAN OR WOMAN TO MARRY, DONT BE DECEIVED

By Sam Adeyemi

The challenge I see all the time among young people is that they are looking for their ideal man and ideal woman.

The truth is, your ideal man or ideal woman is married.

That is why sometimes, some people fall in love with married people. They are not married yet but they fall in love with married people.

You hear them say; oh..he is such a nice man, he has a good job, he is also kind, he has money, such an ideal man, he is this, he is that. Wonderful!

Most of the time, this guy or lady who looks perfect was not like that before he or she got married.

If in your vision, you husband is a CEO, can you recognise him when he is yet a CEO? That is what am talking about.

When pastor Nike and I got married, we were not the way we are now. It has taken investment.

This is why I have an issues with guys who are almost turning bachelor holding into an institution.

There are lots of people around town who are not getting married because they want to be able to get a mansion, cars, and money.

They will tell you, how can you marry a girl when you are not yet settled financially and they have already gotten a job. They are waiting to have an ideal financial situation.

I am telling you, if you are in that situation, you have been deceived.

What a lady need is not a perfect man in the present...this thing is about 10years, 20years, 30years, 40years time.

What she needs now is a man who have a vision, who can define exactly where he is going and who he is going to be. That is what defines the kind of wife he should marry.

When pastor Mike and I got engaged. In fact, it was after we were courting to be married that we discussed our salaries and I discovered that her allowance as a youth corper was more than my salary as a pastor. And the day I told her about my salary, I quickly told her, you know what? Is not going to be like that forever, I am going somewhere.

I described the future for her and told her, you know what? In fact, even though we will help each other at the beginning but there is coming a time when I will ask you to keep your salary and I will bear the full responsibility for this family fully.

That is the essence of leadership. You have a vision and you have the capacity to communicate it.

You should be able to sell your vision to a lady.

Listen! Ladies, if all of your assessment about a man; If what you are looking for is who the person is today, you will soon be deceived.

Because the fact that he has a car now, is no guarantee he will have a car in five years time.

Making a choice for marriage is largely a matter of intuition. Some people, all they think about is the wedding day.

In one day, they invest all their thought, energy and preparation. You hear them say; ah....my wedding...hmmm...the gown will come from Singapore.

On the wedding day the Pastor say; say after me and the couple will say "I do"

After that, what next? That is when some people remember there is honey moon. They will do honey moon for two to three weeks.

After that, what next? Nothing! No idea because all they were thinking about was a wedding.

God Will Fight Your Battles

Sometimes God will simply run a protective shield around you where nothing will be able to get through to attack you. Other times something will start to slip through to come directly against you, and then God will move ahead of you to take it out. This is where God will literally take your enemy head on and do battle with it.
Sometimes God will fight the actual battle through you, other times He will simply tell you to hold your position and do absolutely nothing, and then He will move Himself to completely take out the attack coming against you. This is where God shows you how powerful and how awesome He really is when He moves into battle to personally protect you.
Again, these next set of verses are extremely powerful as all of the other ones listed above. Notice the very intense language God is using when these verses describe Him moving into actual battle for you.

The first two verses are major, whopper, power verses. These first two verses are specifically telling us that God can be a Man of War if He needs to be, and that He can actually be stirred up to go into battle for you if He has to.

“The Lord is a man of war; the Lord is His name … Your Right Hand, O Lord, has become glorious in power; Your right hand, O Lord, has dashed the enemy in pieces. And in the greatness of Your excellence you have overthrown those who rose against You; You sent forth Your wrath which consumed them like stubble.” (Exodus 15:3,6)

“The Lord shall go forth like a mighty man; He shall stir up His zeal like a man of war. He shall cry out, yes, shout aloud; He shall prevail against His enemies.” (Isaiah 42:13)

“I will go before you and make the crooked paths straight; I will break in pieces the gates of bronze and cut the bars of iron.” (Isaiah 45:2)

“For you shall not go out with haste, nor go by flight; for the Lord will go before you, and the God of Israel will be your rear guard.” (Isaiah 52:12)

“Therefore understand today the Lord your God is He who goes before you as a consuming fire. He will destroy them and bring them down before you; so you shall drive them out and destroy them quickly, as the Lord has said to you.” (Deuteronomy 9:3)

“The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.” (Exodus 14:14)

“Be strong and courageous; do not be afraid nor dismayed before the king of Assyria, nor before all the multitude that is with him; for there are more with us than with him. With him is an arm of flesh; but with us is the Lord our God, to help us and to fight our battles.” (2 Chronicles 32:7)

“… For I will contend with him who contends with you.” (Isaiah 49:25)

“… since it is a righteous thing with God to repay with tribulation those who trouble you …” (2 Thessalonians 1:6)

“The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms; He will thrust out the enemy from before you, and will say, ‘Destroy!’ ” (Deuteronomy 33:27)

Do not say, “I will recompense evil;” Wait for the Lord, and He will save you.” (Proverbs 20:22)

“I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you …” (Genesis 12:3)

“Many a time they have afflicted me from my youth; yet they have not prevailed against me … The Lord is righteous; He has cut in pieces the cords of the wicked.” (Psalm 129:2)

“It is God who avenges me, and subdues the peoples under me; He delivers me from my enemies. You also lift me up above those who rise against me; You have delivered me from the violent man.” (Psalm 18:47)

“Plead my cause, O Lord, with those who strive with me; fight against those who fight against me. Take hold of shield and buckler, and stand up for my help. Also draw out the spear, and stop those who pursue me. Say to my soul, “I am your salvation.” (Psalm 35:1)

“When my enemies turn back, they shall fall and perish at your presence. For You have maintained my right and my cause; You sat on the throne judging in righteousness.” (Psalm 9:3)

“Do not be afraid of their faces, for I am with you to deliver you,” says the Lord. (Jeremiah 1:8)

“God is a just judge, and God is angry with the wicked every day. If He does not turn back, He will sharpen His sword; He bends His bow and makes it ready. He also prepares for Himself instruments of death; He makes His arrows into fiery shafts.” (Psalm 7:11)

“He will guard the feet of His saints, but the wicked shall be silent in darkness. For by strength no man shall prevail. The adversaries of the Lord shall be broken in pieces; from heaven He will thunder against them. The Lord will judge the ends of the earth. He will give strength to His king, and exalt the horn of His anointed. (1 Samuel 2:9)

“… For we have no power against this great multitude that is coming against us; nor do we know what to do, but our eyes are upon You … Then the Spirit of the Lord came upon Jahaziel … thus says the Lord to you:
‘Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God’s … You will not need to fight in this battle. Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord, who is with you, O Judah and Jerusalem!” Do not fear or be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them, for the Lord is with you.” (2 Chronicles 20:12-17)

“Behold, all those who were incensed against you shall be ashamed and disgraced; they shall be as nothing, and those who strive with you shall perish. You shall seek them and not find them – those who contend with you. Those who war against you shall be as nothing, as a nonexistent thing. For I, the Lord your God, will hold your right hand, saying to you, ‘Fear not, I will help you.‘ ” (Isaiah 41:11)

“When the enemy comes in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him.” (Isaiah 59:19)

“Now I know that the Lord saves His anointed; He will answer him from His holy heaven with the saving strength of His right hand.” (Psalm 20:6)

“Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You will revive me; You will stretch out Your hand against the wrath of my enemies, and You right hand will save me. The Lord will perfect that which concerns me …” (Psalm 138:7)

“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you.” (Isaiah 43:2)

“For they did not gain possession of the land by their own sword, nor did their arm save them; but it was Your right hand, Your arm, and the light of Your countenance, because You favored them.” (Psalm 44:3)

“You marched through the land in indignation; You trampled the nations in anger. You went forth for the salvation of Your people, for salvation with Your anointed. You struck the head from the house of the wicked.” (Habakkuk 3:12)

“The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles.” (Psalm 34:17)

“And I commanded Joshua at that time, saying, ‘Your eyes have seen all that the Lord Your God has done to these two kings; so will the Lord do to all the kingdoms through which you pass. You must not fear them, for the Lord your God Himself fights for you.’ ” (Deuteronomy 3:21)

Really meditate and chew on these verses so they can get down deep into your mind and spirit. Believe what they are telling you. Our God is a mighty, powerful and awesome God – especially when you see Him go into major battle to protect one of His own..

This month is our month for DIVINE SPEED.

As Copied

SCRIPTURE READING | JOSHUA 5:13-15,6: 1-20

FOCUS SCRIPTURE“And ye shall compass the city, all ye men of war, and go round about the city once. Thus shalt thou do six days. 4. And seven priests shall bear before the ark seven trumpets of rams’ horns: and the seventh day ye shall compass the city seven times…” (Joshua 6: 3-4)

In our Focal Scripture, God told Joshua to compass the city of Jericho once a day, for six days. According to bible historians, a journey around Jericho on foot took almost a whole day during the bible times. So what they were to do on daily basis was something that could take a whole day to achieve. They were given an assignment that would cost nearly the entire day.

On the seventh day, God commanded Joshua to go round Jericho seven times. A journey that was to take nearly seven days was to happen in one day. God empowered Joshua and the men of war to achieve in one day what should ordinarily take almost seven days. God empowered Joshua with divine speed, and he got speedy results. Joshua achieved a huge result in one day.

Friend, God says, this year, you shall have divine speed, and what should ordinarily take lots of time for others will not take time for you to achieve. Receive divine speed to overtake people who started before you; receive divine speed that will bring you quick results; receive divine speed that will empower you to achieve so much results in a short while. Receive divine speed that will bring your family amazing results.

The things that should take you lots of time to achieve will take you a shorter time to achieve. God will cut short processes and protocols to give you your own portion. God will cause you to make quick achievements that will provoke envy in your haters. This year, the things that should take time will not take time, they will take grace. Time will not be wasted on your way to the top.

God holds the times and seasons in His hands, and He has what it takes to fast forward your life to move at the pace He so determines.

DECLARE WITH ME
I have divine speed; I have grace for speedy achievements; no more delays, in Jesus’ name!
