NYSC is a complete waste of time, You can never get the best out of it.

Whoever started this belief, please, allow us to breathe.

Have you ever imagined what you would do if you had just 12 months to live, and your doctor told you to spend that time doing the things you know would make you happy and fulfilled?

I bet some of you would become intentional about every single day. You would pursue opportunities, learn new skills, build connections and stop postponing the things that matter to you.

Now, let me be honest with you…

NYSC no be scam ooo!

Dear Corper, you can achieve a lot during your service year, but you need more than just wearing khaki, going to your PPA and waiting for POP.

In my first 10 months of NYSC, I worked at my PPA, applied for opportunities, secured an opportunity with an NGO and invested in my personal development.

Did everything happen by chance? No.

I had to take action, explore opportunities, learn and become intentional about my growth.

Your NYSC year can be more than just a year of service. It can be a season of preparation, growth and positioning for the future.

You don't need to have everything figured out. You need a plan, a roadmap and the willingness to take action.

I’ll share the steps I took to make my NYSC year count in the comment section.

Because if you are still serving, there is still time to make your own story different.

This is the Day 25 of my series.

And if you’re seeing this post for the first time, follow me and subscribe for more NYSC stories, career lessons, opportunities and practical tips before I POP.

Dear PCM's,
How prepared are you for those that have gotten their Call-up numbers?

26/10/2026

📢 Dear Batch C Stream 2 Prospective Corps Members: 📢

Before reporting to camp you're to print out these three (3) important documents from your dashboard as described below.

You can print out all the documents once your call up letter is out from next week (Monday 2nd November, 2026) it will not disappear from your dashboard, it's always there.

❇️ PCM's with discrepancies in Date of Graduation on their Statement of Results/degree certificate and the one uploaded by their institutions to the NYSC portal are strongly advised to resolve the problem with their Student Affairs Officers (SAOs) and should not proceed to Camp until the correction is effected.

❇️ For married female Prospective Corps members (PCM's) who may be deployed to States where their husbands are not domiciled, they should report to the nearest NYSC Orientation Camp for their State of Deployment to be changed if they have the complete documents for married female PCM's. They are to report during the period of Registration at the Orientation Camps with the copies of their valid marital and other relevant documents as evidence.

❇️ Please note that nursing mothers and pregnant women are not allowed to stay in camp. Married women are also not allowed to stay in Lagos Orientation camp.

Camp opens next week across all states nationwide.
