*WISDOM AND INSTRUCTION*

Poverty and shame shall be to him that refuseth instruction: but he that regardeth reproof shall be honoured (Proverbs 13:18).

The Book of Proverbs is an important Book of the Bible. It’s a Book of wisdom which every smart Christian should study meticulously. It shows us the importance of God’s instructions and their applications to our lives. Not everybody knows wisdom and instruction. But Proverbs 1:2 tells us to “...know wisdom and instruction; to perceive the words of understanding.” This is referring to the Word of God.

The Word of God is wisdom and instruction, and there’s a cost for not attending to instructions. Proverbs 4:13 refers to God’s instructions as life. Our theme verse says poverty and shame shall be to him that refuses instruction.

The person doesn’t need to have been poor; no matter how rich he may be at the moment, if he wouldn’t heed instruction— God’s Word—the Bible says poverty shall be his lot. The fifteenth chapter further buttresses this clear warning; it says, “He that refuseth instruction despiseth his own soul: but he that heareth reproof getteth understanding” (Proverbs 15:32).

The Word of God is God’s instruction manual for an extraordinary life of glory, dominion and victory. Therefore, consciously practice fellowship with the Holy Spirit and the Word. That’s where you receive His instructions and guidance that put you over circumstances and the adversities of life.

Live out the Word every day. That’s exactly what James tells us when he says, “But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves” (James 1:22). This is what we do in the New Testament: we’re the Word in manifestation. Through us, the Word of God is lived beyond the written pages.

We’re the Word of God in action today. And so, in your personal life, study the Word; “eat” and digest the Word. As you do, following His instructions becomes your way of life, and His instructions make great. Hallelujah!

PRAYER
Dear Father, thank you for the gift and blessing of your Word—the transformation that following your plans, your instructions, will and purpose, has brought to my life! I’m sensitive to your guidance; therefore, I lead a beautiful and exceptional life, gloriously fulfilling your calling and destiny for me, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

*Can We Worship God in Vain?*
_(Tuesday 8th February 2022. Read 1 Kings 8:22-23,27-30, Ps. 84:3-5,10-11, Mark 7:1-13)_

_*“He said to them, ‘Isaiah prophesied rightly about you hypocrites, as it is written, ‘These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me; in vain do they worship me…’” (Mark 7:6-7)*_

Is it possible to worship God in vain? In other words, is it possible that after all that we do in the name of worshiping, it could all count for nothing? Yes. Jesus tells us: “I tell you, (many) will seek to enter and will not be able. When once the householder has risen up and shut the door, you will begin to stand outside and to knock at the door, saying, ‘Lord, open to us.’ He will answer you, ‘I do not know where you come from.’

Then you will begin to say, ‘We ate and drank in your presence, and you taught in our streets.’ But he will say, ‘I tell you, I do not know where you come from; depart from me, all you workers of iniquity!’ There you will weep and gnash your teeth, when you see Abraham and Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God and you yourselves thrust out.” (Luke 13:24-28).

How do we know if we are worshipping God in vain? By cleansing the outside of the cup while leaving the inside dirty. In other words, we worship God in vain when we practice a false spirituality; when all that we do is just for a show, or when we live in pretense. We worship God in vain when we live by the “11th commandment” – never get caught.

We worship God in vain when we disregard the commandments of God and begin to follow human traditions instead. Jesus gave the example of how parents were being neglected in the name of “Corban” thereby going against the fourth commandment which states that we should honour our father and mother. This is just one of the many instances of how we could easily go against God’s precepts while claiming to be worshipping God at the same time.

Our Gospel passage calls for a thorough examination of conscience. Are there things that I am doing under the guise of religion that God is not happy with? If we fail to sincerely answer this question, we could come to the end of our lives and while standing before the judgement throne of God realize we have been worshiping God in vain and by then, it will be too late.

Let us pray: Lord Jesus, as King Solomon prayed at the dedication of the temple, may I be fully consecrated to you. May my worship never be in vain. Amen.

It is better to follow God in tears dan to follow d devil in prosperity A man dat will go forward obeys simple instruction, he follows in obedience, he takes instruction to d last core. Jephthah the rejected became the sought after, he became the solution of his people. Ur leadership, wisdom, cancel, knowledge will be sought after in Jesus name. Without you there will be no solution in your family, community etc in Jesus mighty name. They wanted to change the destiny of Jephthah but his God stood against dis act, he became the head not of his family alone but the whole nation. You will be the head alone and not the tail, you will possess your possession, you are the deliverer your generation is waiting for. Your authority will be recognise in heaven and on earth, you will conquer and overcome in Jesus name. Judges chpt 11:1 down.

I admonish that we don't base our expectations of God on the government or policies. We should TRUST GOD TO WORK IN US AND TAKE CARE OF US.

*Those kidnappers have informants in your neighborhood, so you have to protect yourself and family!!*With the way kidnapping activity is spreading across the country now, it is important to take self precautions at all times. Just of resent it was discovered that one of the killers of the Kaduna state Doctor's wife, was a Police officer who was familiar with the Doctor's family. The police officer was identified by the late woman's daughter, who was kidnapped alongside her mother in Kaduna before the mother was killed. While Nigerians were yet to finish digesting the news, another report came up of an oil mogul, who's mother was kidnapped. According to report, Shema's mother was kidnapped and the kidnappers demanded for 100 million naira as ransom. After tough negotiations, 20 million naira was agreed upon as ransom but the kidnappers gave condition that the ransom must be in mint notes. Shema approach CBN, and got the mint note to the tune of 20million; Serially arranged. He then delivered the money to the kidnappers and secure his mother's release. But before doing that he approached all neighbouring banks and requested them to report anyone who comes in to deposit money having the serial number associated with the notes. Behold! The first person to be arrested was a police inspector. Another lieutenant in the military was arrested. Upon investigation, the arrested officers confessed that an assistant commissioner of police was also involved. Pressed further, a top brass in the security was fingered. Shema threatened to go to press, but he was prevailed upon not to. His money was returned Intact. With this type of scary stories, one really has to be careful with even your neighbourhood, because those you trusted could turn out to be the one to hurt you the most.The only way to be your brother's keeper in Nigeria of today is by sharing any security tips that can be of help. We wish to share with you, some few security tips to guard your daily activities henceforth because the current state of insecurity in the country is really alarming.The only person to trust now in this country is yourself and your unborn baby. Therefore, to avoid being a victim of kidnapping, please read the following tips and share with your loved ones now to save them from harm. Tip 1. Never use car stickers that says where you work, especially if you have a prestigious job.Tip 2. Never share pictures of your kids in their school uniforms or badges. Protect your kids! Tip 3. When you attend parties, don't let the band get you so high that you start spraying money like no man's business, use an envelope. Tip 4. When you give, give with modesty and privately, learn to say "I can't spare that amount now". Tip 13. Don't stay late in your office long after closing hours. That deadline work can be done at home. Tip 14. Make safety the number one factor in your decision always! Tip 15. Mind what you post about yourself on social media.
