Man's Ultimate Desire

Wait a minute and ask yourself, why do I do what I do? Or simply put why are you doing what you're doing right now? Why do you want to have money? Why do you want to get Education? Why are you seeking for business to do? In fact, why do you want to get married?

Have you ever thought about the "WHY" behind every one of your actions?

A majority of the world desires to gain wealth and material resources at all costs. There is this serious pursuit for money, youths are willing to get rich quick, using any means available - our society is gradually changing as everyone desires to follow his self-motivated path!

But, I will like you to take a moment and think about this; after you have successfully gathered all you desire, what will be your point of satisfaction?

See what a wise man said;
Ecclesiastes 2:11 Then I looked on all the works that my hands had wrought, and on the labour that I had laboured to do: and, behold, all was vanity and vexation of spirit, and there was no profit under the sun.

There is nothing in this world that can bring satisfaction to the heart of man! No matter your level of accomplishment, if you don't have peace you can't be satisfied!

And Peace is only promised in one person;

John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

John 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

The only one who has overcome the world is the one that has assured us of Peace! The death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus is to the end that you might have Peace and have it in abundance!

All you need to do is to believe that He died for your sins and was resurrected for your justification! God desires that you have all you desire but ultimately He wants you Saved so you can dwell in perfect peace and fit into His Eternal Plan for you! Are you ready?

Topic: DELIVERANCE

Read;

Colossians 1:12 Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:

1:13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:

1:14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:

1:15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:

1:16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:

1:17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.

The pursuit of every believer after salvation is growth and growth comes by knowledge else you'll passionately do what you ought not to do at all. The subject of deliverance has been around for a long time and we usually define it in accordance to how we perceive it. But, the best way to understand any topic is by seeing it from the word perspective.

Irrespective of how exalted a man is, he's not to be exalted above that which is written.

1 Corinthians 4:6 And these things, brethren, I have in a figure transferred to myself and to Apollos for your sakes; that ye might learn in us not to think of men above that which is written, that no one of you be puffed up for one against another.

We do not rely on men understanding to judge things that are spiritual. Only by the Spirit of God can we get an accurate understanding of God's word. Now on the matter of deliverance we will rely on God's word for accurate understanding for us not to fall into error.

Deliverance is defined as “a rescue from bo***ge or danger.” Deliverance in the Bible is the act of God whereby He rescues His people from peril. When a life is rescued from danger, then he has been delivered.

Until you move from a danger zone to a place of safety, you're yet to be delivered. Hence, when a man is delivered, it means he's whole, he's free, he's out of danger, he's out of trouble. Anything less of this truth can't be called deliverance.

Our opening verse made it clear that; we have been delivered (talking about believers now) from the power of darkness and has been translated into the kingdom of His dear son.

This verse of the scripture would suggest that; God has delivered believers from peril, He has set us free from the power of darkness into safety called the Kingdom of His dear Son.

Hence, deliverance in Scripture sense would mean that; men are being rescued from darkness and they are being brought to light. This implies that; the place of bo***ge is under the control of the power of darkness and for everyone who is saved, he has passed from darkness into light. He has been delivered!!!

Let's continue later

We are blessed

For a believer to progress in his faith walk, there's a need to unlearn certain things, Relearn some and be willing to Learn new things. There are terms we use as believers, we are so familiar with these terms but so many people do not understand what it means.

The bad thing about ignorance is this; you'll do what you ought not to do passionately thinking you're doing the right thing. That's why it became necessary for us to keep reminding ourselves of certain basics about our salvation.

The mind of God is that all men grow into the full stature of Christ and this will only happen by knowledge. The more you know the more Christ like you are. Don't get it twisted; once you're saved, you've become the Son of God, you're in His image and after His likeness, but until you know what it means to be the son of God, you'll keep living below God's standard.

Paul was a man who passionately persecuted the Church, he fought with all enthusiasm, he gave it his best, he even traveled far and near all because he was defending God. In his mind he was fighting those who are blaspheming the name of God. He didn't get it right until the right knowledge came on him.

This is how he put his explanation;

Galatians 1:13 For ye have heard of my conversation in time past in the Jews' religion, how that beyond measure I persecuted the church of God, and wasted it:

1:14 And profited in the Jews' religion above many my equals in mine own nation, being more exceedingly zealous of the traditions of my fathers.

1:15 But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother's womb, and called me by his grace,

1:16 To reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the heathen; immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood:

Dear reader, it's another series on DELIVERANCE and it's important that you open your heart to receive; this series will take Us for as long as God would have us go. Don't just read, be ready for your own deliverance, prayerfully read as it comes and do well to share with as many as possible.

We want to increase the number of men who will come into the fullness of Christ, men who will not be babies tossed to and fro by the wind of doctrines, let's come up hither as God will help us walk in fullness.

Blessed? Let me know

Good morning & Happy new month

Topic: WALK IN THE SPIRIT

Read;

Galatians 5:16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

5:17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.

5:18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.

5:25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

The flesh is always waging war against the Spirit. The flesh has its desires and always willing to lord it over us. Many believers are unstable in their ways because of the works of the flesh. It can bring low the very best. It can makes one treat spiritual exercise with disdain, it can reduce one's prayer life to a piece of bread. Little sins that easily beset can set into one's life without even acknowledging it.

And we have many people who is at the verge of giving up, they've tried all possible means to ensure that; they live above the activities of flesh, they've set up various discipline measure and consecrated rules to ensure they are set free from the grip of flesh; but all proves abortive.

I'd like to let you understand this; there's a power that's behind the activities of flesh - it's called the prince of the power of the air. This is the spirit that's at work in the children of disobedience! Ephesians 2:2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:

This implies that; it's a powerful force that goes beyond self discipline and consecration. It goes beyond rules and regulation you set or anyone sets for you. In fact, the more you make decision against lusts, the more you'll find myself in it. The more you set rules to keep yourself holy, the more you dabble into unholy life why? The spirit behind activities of the flesh is powerful than your instinct. It takes a higher capacity to set you free.

That's why Paul the Apostle made it clear to the Galatians Church which is also applicable to us; if we are not to fulfil the lust of the flesh; we are to walk in the Spirit. The only solution for us not to yield to the flesh is by yielding to the Spirit of God.
How's this even possible? Let's answer it tomorrow!

Amen?

Topic: WHEN YOU ARE LED BY THE SPIRIT

READ;

Romans 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

8:15 For ye have not received the spirit of bo***ge again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

8:16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:

It is important for believers to take advantage of the gifts given to us that separate us from the world. On a regular basis, I usually say this; the difference between a believer and an unbeliever is in nothing physical, it's not in your physique, it's not in your material wealth - that basic difference between a believer and an unbeliever is the Holy Spirit given to us.

We have the Spirit of God that's why we are called the son of God. The Bible made it clear that; anyone that doesn't have the Spirit of God doesn't belong to God. (Romans 8:9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.) Therefore, we know we belong to God because we have the Spirit of Christ in us.

This Spirit isn't in us for decoration - there's a responsibility the Holy Spirit is meant to perform in us on a regular basis. It's the Spirit that constantly put us in reminder that we are the Children of God. We are meant to walk in truth at all times; it's the Spirit that's saddled with the responsibility to guide us into all truth. He's to comfort, counsel and guide us. And ultimately, He is to lead us and order our steps.

However, it becomes important for us to allow the Holy Spirit to perform His responsibility in our lives because, when we are led by the Spirit, we don't labour as fools, we don't labour in vain, we don't make decisions that will hurt us, we don't enter into relationships that will jeopardise our walk with God. We don't sow on barren ground - we don't do things that will bring shame to us or than will make the name of God to be blasphemed.

When you allow the Spirit to lead, you can never go wrong, you can never be victim of circumstances - your life can only be meaningful and better. You can only do things that'll work in your favour and that's in alignment with the will of God. The Spirit guides us to stay perfect and complete in God's will - this is what will be the testimony of your life when you allow the Spirit to lead!!!

Topic: GOD IS IN US

READ;

Romans 8:31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?

8:32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?

8:33 Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth.

When we come into the full knowledge of certain reality in Christ, everything about Us will experience tremendous change. When we fully understand what God is passing across through a particular statement we read in His word, it will make a total change and difference in our life.

There are three phases of relationship we must understand and walk in its reality; that God lives in us, He's with us and He's for us. These three realities will cause a whole change in your life of you can come to the understanding.

Just think about it for a moment; with all the things you've heard about God from the scriptures and the testimony you've heard around you of who God is; then bring it into the limelight of the fact that; this God dwells in your heart.

The creator of all things dwells in you, the giver of life lives in you, the master of the universe has His abode in you!!! The one that protects, the one that blesses, the one that shows mercy, the one that transform life and situation, the one that changes not but has the ability to cause the change your life needs is in you!!!!

You don't need to start jumping from pillar to pole before you can see Him, you don't have to run helter skelter before you can access Him - NO!!! He lives in you!!! He's right there on your inside Wow!!!! Glory!!! Hallelujah!!!!

If you can grasp this truth, your life will make a whole lot of sense, your approach to life and situation will be different. Your response to things around you will be different. You'll walk in and with boldness.

You know what? He said; Greater is He than is in you than he that's in the world!!! There's a Prince of this world - the devil but, guess what? The one in you is superior, the one in you is greater and bigger which automatically means you'll enjoy greater peace than the world can ever give, greater joy, greater blessings, greater life and all of these greater things comes from the one who is in you.

Can you just pause to meditate on this truth and apply it to your life; can you just respond in faith to this profound knowledge you've got this morning?

Say; Father I Thank you for living in me. My life is positive because you're in Me. I know you're in me and will never leave me Alone...I am blessed

Topic: ALL THINGS WORK TOGETHER FOR OUR GOOD

READ;

Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

There's something special about the believer's life, there's something unique to us and until we come to acknowledge this truth and make it our reality, we cannot utilise the great things we have in Christ Jesus. We can't live the Christian life as we ought to if we do not understand where we stand, how we stand and what we stand for.

Everything written about us and for us in the Bible are not just there NO! They are written so that we can know things that are freely given to us and things that separate us from the world. With the consideration of the world we live in, we might be thinking that being in the world together means we will experience the same thing, we'll undergo same thing and same economic issue will have affect us.

The truth is; we are subjected to the same condition but different impact!!!! The impact of economic recession on the world differs from what a believer should experience why? The life we receive make it possible such that; all things work for our own favour - in every situation, we experience the good side.

When Jesus said; "we are in the world and not of the world" He was not referring to the act of sins Alone, He was telling us that; the world will say there's casting down but, for us it is lifting up!! The world will say life is difficult but, for us we'll say life is beautiful why? The mouth of the Lord has spoken it concerning us.

Hence, when you see unpalatable situation around, it's time for you to look out for what God has said concerning you. The world is filled with gross darkness so that our light can shine brighter and better!!! When you see sin multiplying in a place, it's an advantage for you to populate God's kingdom by sharing the Gospel.

Stop seeing the negativity in your situation; turn it around by the word of God for your good because all things are designed to work in your favour!!!

Blessed?

Topic: WE GLORY IN CHRIST

READ;

1 Corinthians 1:27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;

1:28 And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:

1:29 That no flesh should glory in his presence.

1:30 But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:

1:31 That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.

When God is at work, common sense doesn't come into play, human wisdom and knowledge doesn't come in the way; because He is God and His ways are greater than the wisdom of men. Hence, when you see a man walk in a kind of wisdom that's not common to the world, be sure that God is the one at work.

The opening verse made us to understand that; it pleases God to choose the foolish things of the world to confound the wise, He picked things we call weak to shame those that seem to be strong in this world. In short, He made things we despise according to human standard to reveal His power.

This is to bring to the understanding of men that; there's nothing a man has that can equate him with God; the best of man is worse than the worst of God. Many people aren't saved today because they're trying to intellectualise how salvation comes to being. It seems meaningless to them; but to us that are saved, we know it is the power of God.

When you think there is something you can do without the God factor, then you act as a fool. When you think your common sense can compete with the wisdom of God, then you're making the greatest mistake of your life. The weak things that confounded the wise were able to do so because; God lives in them.

We are to acknowledge that; we are nothing without God in our life. We have nothing and we can do nothing if God is not in us. Whatever we see as achievement today, whatever we see as success today, we must acknowledge that God made it possible.

Likewise, is there anything you feel it's too high to attain? Talk to God about it and it will surprise you what the result will be.

We don't glory in ourselves because we are not sufficient on our own to think of anything!!! Our sufficiency is Christ!!!

Topic: KNOWING YOURSELF (3)

READ;

2 Corinthians 5:16 Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more.

5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

5:18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;

5:19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

One of the challenges you can experience in the quest to know who you are is to understand where exactly you can search out your identity. I told you yesterday that; Christ Is the image of God and you become that same image the moment you believe the Gospel. But, you may still be wondering why you are living below the characteristics that come with being in God's image. You may even think why you are not doing all that Christ did since you are as Him (Christ)

Hebrews 2:6 But one in a certain place testified, saying, What is man, that thou art mindful of him? or the son of man, that thou visitest him?

2:7 Thou madest him a little lower than the angels; thou crownedst him with glory and honour, and didst set him over the works of thy hands:

2:8 Thou hast put all things in subjection under his feet. For in that he put all in subjection under him, he left nothing that is not put under him. But now we see not yet all things put under him.

You are considering why all of these great things that come with being a new creature has not been experiences by you. The next verse that follows the text above gave us an insight;

Hebrews 2:9 But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.

We see Jesus!!! That's the main point. Until your focus and attention rests on Jesus, you'll keep living below God's will for yourself. Christ Jesus already undergo all that's required, He already attained it for us, we receive the nature, the new life automatically when we believed the Gospel. In fact, the Bible called us “God's workmanship” that is; God's finished product. This implies that; everything you are meant to be, you are already in Christ.

But, bridging this spiritual reality into your consciousness is what understanding your identity stands for. Allowing your mind to comprehend your nature, allowing your mind to digest and become aware of who God has made you to be is all that you have as responsibility.

That's why a prototype was given - Christ!!! He already attained it and we get to know ourselves as we focus on Him.

Hebrews 12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

How do we focus on Christ?

We focus on Christ through the study of the Bible with a Christocentric approach. We must study scripture not to look for ourselves or discover ourselves but to know Christ the more;

2 Corinthians 3:18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the LORD.

Our transformation deals with the mind, as we focus on Christ, our mind will begin to undergo renewal and as it's been renewed, we are being transformed!!!

Look at this;

1 John 4:17 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.

As Christ is today, so are you in this world!!!

What a great thing to be in union with Christ? You are sitted in Him at the right hand of God. You have power over powers and principalities. His life is your life!!!

We only rely on the integrity of the Bible to know who we are as believer!!!

You are Blessed

Topic: BE COMMITTED TO SPIRITUAL GROWTH (6)

Read;

1 Peter 2:1 Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings,

2:2 As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:

2:3 If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious.

Another important aspect of our commitment to spiritual growth is established in our prayer life. It is highly essential to understand that; prayers is not just a way of expressing grievances to God, it is a communion, it is an avenue to spend quality time with God. Prayers is a spiritual exercise that help ward off distractions. The more we spend time with God in prayers, the more the changes we experience in our daily lives. Spiritual growth is not as burdensome as we think, it's simply a daily and consistent commitment to spiritual exercise.

Growth doesn't come by studying alone, it encompasses consistency in Spiritual exercise. Many at times, our attention in prayers is to cause a change in the situation around us, probably there's a difficulty we are facing, we've come up with a mindset that; it is a time to fast and pray. As much as this is true, prayer changes situation but the most important thing about prayers is that; it must change you!!! If prayers has not change you, you have not prayed.

Jude 1:20 But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,

The above text gave us an insight to the fact that; we don't pray just to settle situations, we pray to build ourselves up spiritually, we grow as we pray why? It builds our intimacy with the Father. We express ourselves and He commune with us.
Read these;

Romans 12:12 Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;

Ephesians 6:18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

Colossians 4:2 Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving;

4:12 Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, saluteth you, always labouring fervently for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God.

Epaphras cease not to pray for the Church, so that they may stand perfect in the will of God. We were instructed to pray without ceasing (1Thessalonians 5:17, Luke 18:1) pray to change things but most importantly, pray to change yourself!!!

However, we can't concentrate on prayers alone as the spiritual exercise that brings about growth, we have other things that must take our attention and we must be committed to.

In our Primary School rhyme, there's a special one that teaches how to grow spiritually but it's a pity that no one took time to lay emphasis on the words of that rhyme;

“Read your Bible and pray everyday
Pray everyday (X2)
Read your Bible and pray everyday
If you want to grow!!!

The way to grow is established in how consistent and dedicated we are to Spiritual exercise on a daily basis, it is established in how much we fill our days with study, prayers, fasting, meditation and practice of spiritual things. Also, in how much we preach to others!!!

Make a decision today, take spiritual growth as your priority, and decide to be committed to spiritual exercise. Your growth is equivalent to your commitment and consistence!!!

You can follow this plan, it will help you (for starter)

Set apart at least one (1) hour of your day to do spiritual exercise.. Make sure it's a particular time where distraction will be minimal. It can be morning or night

Spend the first 10 minutes to pray
Spend another 20minutes studying
Spend 10 minutes meditating on what you've learnt from studying
Spend the last 20minutes praying (praying in the holy ghost is much advisable)

REPEAT AT THE EXACT TIME EVERYDAY

You'll see increase in your timing as you maintain consistency!!!

Your one hour can turn to five hours or more

To grow, you need a consistent
Fasting life
Personal vigil life
Personal Retreat time
Prayer life
Study life
Meditation Life
Preaching & Teaching life
Commitment to a local church
Practice of spiritual gift
Obedience to God's word

Amen?

Let's continue later
