*THE WAY OF LOVE*

*Daily Reading: 1 Corinthians 13: 1-13*
"Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud." Vs. 4 (NLT)

The greatest commandment is to love both God and man, God responds to love and He rewards every genuine labour of love. As believers, we are called to love others genuinely, and in a way that honours them. To love others genuinely means to have a deep affection for them without pretence or guile, to care about their well being, and to be willing to put their needs before one's own. It means being kind, compassionate and understanding, even when it is difficult. It is not about saying 'l love you' but truly feeling and expressing it in one's actions.

Love is an active word and goes with giving; Hence it is said in John 3:16 that God so loved this world that He gave His only begotten son Jesus Christ to die. So also God expects us to demonstrate such love by giving to people. The question is, have you actually been giving to people: money, clothing, time, food, words of comfort, help, support and such like. That's a way of showing love. Whatever you give, you receive back. Ensure you show love more than ever this year. You can do it.

*Prayer:* Father, help me to love others genuinely, and to reflect Your love to them. Give me the strength to show kindness and compassion to people in Jesus name, Amen.

MOVE IN THE SPIRIT OF THE 5Ds

Daily Reading: Psalm 37: 1-9
"Delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart." Vs. 4

Five Ds (5 Ds) simply stand for Desire, Decision, Discipline, Determination and Dedication. Every achievement of a man starts with desire, it is desire that pushes one into decision of how to get at his desire. Unfortunately, most times, the decision is not backed up with discipline and determination thereby frustrating the accomplishment of such desire.

For instance, if your desire this year is to be spending at least one hour every morning in God's presence before leaving the house, decide the time, set an alarm and be disciplined enough to obey the alarm. Don't turn it off for another round of sleep. Then be determined that one day will not pass without you saying the prayers, and finally be dedicated to that time. It will definitely work out for you.

What are your desires for this year concerning the Kingdom of God or yourself? E.g. To help people? To join a department in the church or fellowship? To use your talent more, or to be punctual in everything? To support activities and such like? Take a decision and be disciplined and determined enough to do so. Do it better this year than other years.

Prayer: Oh God, please help me to desire to do good things and decide with every determination to get them done in Jesus' name Amen

SUNDAY 4TH JANUARY

PLAN YOUR YEAR

Daily Reading: Proverbs 3: 1-10 "In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths." Vs. 6

As companies, establishments, clubs, business people, government and institutions make their budgets and plan for the year, so also plan your own year and write out what vou hope to achieve and accomplish by the end of the year. You need to have a vision of where you are going in this 2026. What are your resolutions.

Many people make new year resolutions, and most times don't measure up to them. The reason is because God is not included in the resolutions and there are no laid down plans on how to achieve them. Don't allow history to repeat itself.

Prayerfully acknowledge God as our anchor verse says, and ask for His guidance all through the year. Start with God every morning and don't rush out as usual. Be disciplined and determined to keep to your decisions. Be more thankful to God avoid postponing actions, rather surround yourself with God fearing people that will motivate you for better and greater actions. Think before vou act, be more committed to God and avoid excuses. The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom.

Praver: Oh my God, help me to plan my life better this year and to acknowledge you in all I do in Jesus' name. Amen.

*THANKSGIVING OF POSSIBILITIES*

*Daily Reading: Ephesians 3: 20-21*
"Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us," Vs. 20.

When we think of thanksgiving, we often think of giving thanks for what we already have. But the "Thanksgiving of Possibilities" is about giving thanks for the possibilities that God has in store for us.

In 1 Corinthians 2:9, the Bible says, "However, as it is written: 'No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him'." This verse reminds us that God has possibilities in store for us that we can't even imagine. And when we give thanks for these possibilities, we open ourselves up to receive them.

So, today, let's make a conscious effort to give thanks for the possibilities that God has in store for us. Let's thank Him for the dreams He has placed in our hearts, for the opportunities He is preparing for us, and for the blessings He is waiting to pour out on us. As we do this, let's remember that thanksgiving is not just about what we say, but also about what we believe. When we give thanks for the possibilities, we are declaring our faith in God's goodness and His ability to bring those possibilities to pass. Always remember: With God, all things are possible. Hold firm to your confession and keep thanking God. He will surely bring your confession to reality.

*Prayer:* Oh God, thank you for the possibilities you have in store for me. Help me trust in your goodness always in Jesus name, Amen.
