Apostle Dr. Michael Adedire Agoro JP — a name that will forever remain written in gold in the hearts of many.
The visionary founder of Gospel Fellowship Church International and also the founder of Africa for Jesus Fellowship Theological Seminary, a Bible institution that has raised and trained over 1,000 ministers for the work of the Kingdom since its inception.
A man of prayer and undeniable results. A man whose footprints can never be erased from the sands of time. A man who made his mark across Nigeria and across nations of the world as an Apostle of Christ.
His indelible mark cannot be forgotten in the land of Okeletu, Ijede, Ikorodu, for the great deliverance of an entire town from the captivity of ancestral wickedness that had plagued the land for years. Today, I see developments everywhere in that land, and I know God was faithful in His choice of calling you.
In the land of Oworonsoki, during the cholera outbreak of the 1960s, when people died in their hundreds and fear covered the land, God raised you as His servant for the deliverance of the people. Despite failed medical interventions and exhausted traditional practices, the Lord used you, and death was arrested.
Oworo land may have forgotten, but heaven has not forgotten. What was written before God can never be erased on earth.
Even in the United States of America, when thieves made away with your luggage and you found yourself stranded, you sought refuge in a church for shelter. While there, a mentally troubled woman was brought into the sanctuary, and the Lord used you mightily to minister deliverance to her. She was completely restored, and that remarkable miracle became one of many notable signs God wrought through your ministry.
In recognition of your impact and the mighty hand of God upon your life, you were honored with a Doctor of Divinity award in the State of California.
Before the apostolic mantle became visible to many, you were an evangelist without apology—burning with passion for souls, preaching Christ with boldness, conviction, and power. You were thoroughly trained for ministry and poured the same depth, discipline, and spiritual heritage into everyone privileged to come under your covering.
My late father, my teacher, my spiritual heritage, and my lasting inspiration.
Today marks the third year of your transition to glory, yet your works continue to speak louder in this realm. Your voice still echoes through the lives you touched, the ministers you raised, the churches you planted, and the seeds of faith you deposited in generations.
What a proud son I am, together with my siblings, to have come from such a father. We have truly enjoyed a goodly heritage through you, and so have your countless sons and daughters spread across the world.
I would have said we miss you, but everything you deposited in us still remains alive and active, reminding us daily that you are still with us in spirit and legacy.
Rest on, my father.
Rest on, great Apostle.
Rest on, our dearest father.
