5. Get On the Good Side of Divine Principles

Laws or principles are events that happen with consistency when certain conditions are present. Newton discovered the law of gravity when he observed that an apple never falls upward but always downward. God designed and built this law into creation, and it is of universal application.

Laws can be used to make predictions about events. Because, all things being equal, that event will occur the same way again and again.

Just as there are natural laws, there are also spiritual laws that govern the moral universe. And as the natural, these spiritual laws are consistent. We must obey them, or there’ll be consequences.

One major spiritual principle we all MUST know and operate to our advantage is the Biblical law of reciprocity, or what we call the principle of sowing and reaping. This is an established principle revealed by God's word. Galatians‬ ‭6:7‬ says, “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.” This is immutable. You cannot sow one thing and reap the opposite.

To help His disciples get on the good side of this law, Jesus had taught them, “And just as you want men to do to you, you also do to them likewise.” Luke‬ ‭6:31‬ ‭NKJV‬‬.
Similarly, Paul followed up by admonishing his audience to do the same: “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.” Galatians‬ ‭6:9-10‬.

This shows that we are all sowers and reapers, like it or not. And this truth is as sure as the reality of day and night. It affects the rich just as it impacts the poor.
The smart ones use it to their own advantage, while the foolish neglect it to their peril. It is a law, and none can escape its effect. Mock it or sideline it, your life will answer to its verdict ultimately. As a matter of fact the sum total of your experiences today, success or failure, is the result of the seeds you sowed in the previous years. Your tomorrow is what you make of it with the kind of seeds you sow today. So, put out only good seeds people, lots of it.

Other elements of this law to note includes:

* You are responsible for your harvest. You reap what you sow. So, you can change your harvest by changing what you sow.

* You reap more than you sow. Because, a seed always produces many seeds in return. Even the Bible speaks of some that have sown the wind, that they shall reap the whirlwind (Hosea‬ ‭8:7)‬. So, whatever you sow, you reap a harvest of it, in abundance.

* You are always sowing something. It may be a word, an action, a thought, an imagination - all are seeds. The Bible calls injustice a seed, and says those who sow it will reap calamity”. Proverbs‬ ‭22:8‬ ‭ESV‬‬.

* We reap later than we sow. It may take a while. But you'll definitely reap what you sow.

* We reap until we have harvested what we have sowed.

Remember! Regardless of what’s going on in the world right now, you remain the author of your own harvest. You will get out of this year in abundance, exactly what you put into it. I saw this cartoon in one of my office emails, and I thought it illustrated what the Lord laid on my heart here:

4. Let His Love Light Your Way

There’s no doubt that we are living in very uncertain times. So, what do people do in uncertain times? They question everything they had believed all along. Some even question God’s love for them. But you see, God’s love for you never changes with the times.
Before He went away, Jesus said to His disciples as He says to us today, “As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love.” John‬ ‭15:9‬. The ESV says “abide in my love.”

If you ask most believers today, they’ll undoubtedly tell you that our love for God is more important to our faith, than His love for us. So, they struggle. But this is an erroneous conclusion. God's love for us is entirely the basis of our faith in Him, not the other way around.

I find that when I tend to rely on my love for God, I always find reasons to doubt my worthiness or deserved-ness of his blessings. Because my love for Him is so imperfect. But when I rely on his unconditional love for me, it provokes repentance in me from my self-cent-redness, to genuinely love him back. It also frees me from relying on my performance, as a basis for receiving anything from him.

So, you don’t have to “strive” to love or to be loved. Simply rest in His love. As you abide and soak yourself in His love, the same love will flow through you toward others around you, and back to God.

Also, developing your faith in God’s love will equip you with the right self-esteem to deal with life situations even in uncertain times. You’ll be able to cast all your cares on Him, confident that He has your best interests at heart.

Some people are said to have "daddy issues." This means that they lacked daddy's love growing up, and are trying to fill that void with other stuff. In the same vein, it is possible for a Christian to manifest a lack of revelation of God's love for them by endless pursuit of material things, worldly recognition and affirmations.

The Bible says, “Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.” 1John‬ ‭2:15‬ ‭NKJV‬‬.
Notice it says "the love of the Father." Not "love for the Father."

The awareness of His love will create in you, a sense of divine purpose that frees you from seeking the validation of men. Whereas, First Corinthians 13 says, all things done outside of love only amount to sounding brass, clanging cymbal, and NOTHING!, His love will lead you to seek the things that will endure, and inspire you towards deeds that will register in eternity.

A revelation of God's love eradicates fear and trepidation, and it makes you resilient and sure, even in hard times. The Bible says, “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.” ‭‭I John‬ ‭4:18‬ ‭NKJV‬‬.
Note the pervading lack of boldness in asking. Believers hesitate to ask God or to consult with Him, though He invites us to - "Come boldly to the throne of grace..."

So, as we try to navigate changes in our world this year, that we can’t control, hear this simple, but very profound, word of the Lord to you, “Pursue love,..” 1 Corinthians‬ ‭14:1‬ ‭NKJV‬‬.
I particularly love the Pidgin English version here, “Na love suppose guide una…” ‭‭1 Korintians‬ ‭14:1‬ ‭PCM‬‬. So, take your guide from Love.

3. Do It With God!

As you make your way through this year, determine that you are going to take full advantage of the companionship of God, in the person of the Holy Spirit. He is for you, you know, not against you.

Christianity is a relationship not a religious or works program. The God of the universe loves you so much, and has made His abode in you, to be with you constantly, as a companion, a guide and a support. Man has become the dwelling place of God. But not just other men, YOU! Nothing in the whole world beats that!
Enjoy this wonderful fellowship with Him and let Him take you places you could have only dreamed of. Another word for this is to walk in the spirit. God’s word says, “If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit.” Galatians 5:25 ESV.

As a young lad growing up in times more religious and harsh than ours, David made a conscious decision to walk with God as a friend. He said in one of the Psalms, “I have set the LORD always before me; Because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved.” ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭16:8‬ ‭NKJV‬‬.

Here David was saying that he had given God a special spot in his life, as a close and trusted friend - a confidant. For David, God was that bosom friend or companion with whom he discussed very intimate stuff, and from whom he drew very valuable and timely counsels and inspiration. Consequently, he felt quite sure and confident about his steps in life. No wonder it was later said of him, “So David waxed greater and greater: for the LORD of hosts was with him.” 1 Chronicles‬ ‭11:9‬.

From the language, it would seem like David somehow found a way to fill his imagination with the presence of the Lord. To "set" is something you do deliberately, with your will and imagination. David seemed to picture the Lord with him always. It was like he constantly visualized the Lord before him. David practiced the presence of God!

I know, the new age has perverted the use of the imagination, so believers are afraid of putting it to creative use. Instead, many let the Devil live rent-free in their heads. But godly imagination means picturing things God says are so. God wants us to have a holy imagination, and that would come as we, constantly behold His face in His word through meditation, and by practicing His presence.

Paul prayed that, “The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the COMMUNION of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen...” ‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭13:14. The “communion” or fellowship of the Holy Spirit, is His participation in your daily life. The word is “Koinonia”, a kind of commercial arrangement, whereby the Holy Spirit takes on a role as your Co-Partner.

So, take the time to be still, and to rid your mind of the noise and clutter. Devote your imagination and passion toward the pursuit of God. Get better acquainted with Him by staying your mind on His word. Practice praying in tongues more often, and develop faith in the presence and ministry of the Holy Spirit. You become more proficient in identifying His leading and inner promptings as you embrace these habits.

So, as you seek to make wise decisions and take sure steps at pivotal moments this year, don’t do it alone, do it with the Waymaker! Hear the word of the Lord to you: “In ALL your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.” Proverbs‬ ‭3:6‬.

2. Get A New Vision

In the days of Jesus’ earthly ministry, He had an encounter with a man that amazed Him with simple faith in His word. It was a Roman Captain. The man had approached Jesus in a panic, because his servant was seriously ill.

On hearing the man’s plea, Jesus promised to come heal his servant. But then the Roman soldier turned around and said “no” to Jesus. He said, “…“I don’t want to put you to all that trouble. Just give the order and my servant will be fine. I’m a man who takes orders and gives orders. I tell one soldier, ‘Go,’ and he goes; to another, ‘Come,’ and he comes; to my slave, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.” Matthew‬ ‭8:8-9 MSG‬‬

Surprised at the simplicity and keenness of the man’s faith, Jesus said, He was yet to witness that kind of faith in Israel. Then He said to the man, “…“Go your way; and AS YOU HAVE BELIEVED, SO LET IT BE DONE FOR YOU.” And his servant was healed that same hour.” Matthew‬ ‭8:13‬ ‭NKJV‬‬.
‭‭
Jesus said to the man, “AS YOU HAVE BELIEVED, SO LET IT BE DONE FOR YOU.”
Firstly, by that statement, Jesus confirms that our believing must precede the changes we desire to see.
Secondly, by that statement also, Jesus confirms that our believing will determine what changes we ultimately see.

The mere fact that we are required to believe before we see the manifestation, indicates that whatever we desire from God, must first happen on our inside, before it happens on the outside. The Roman soldier in our text got what he BELIEVED, which was the complete recovery of his ailing servant.

So, we are as upright, as healthy, as wealthy, as spiritually effective, as progressive in life, etc. on the outside, as we truly do believe on the inside of us.

For there to be any meaningful accomplishments outwardly, there must of necessity, first be a corresponding blueprint inwardly. This is what is known as a vision, and you definitely need one, as you embark on your journey through the year. The future must happen in you, before it happens to you. The Bible says, “Where there is no vision, the people perish: But he that keepeth the law, happy is he.”Proverbs‬ ‭29:18‬.

Where do visions come from? I’m glad you asked. It is the revelation of God’s word in you that gives you vision. That is why you need to spend time in God’s word, and let it build inside of you, a picture of a desired future. Because, you can never rise above the revelation in your heart. The Psalmist says, “The entrance of thy words giveth light; It giveth understanding unto the simple.” Psalm‬ ‭119:130‬.
The word of God and the Spirit of God agree. So, divine revelations can also come by a direct manifestation of the Holy Spirit. Bible calls Him the Spirit of Wisdom and revelation (Eph. 1:17&18).

Notice Jesus did not say to the Centurion, “as you so desperately need it, so let it be done for you.” NO, NO, NO! He very categorically said, “as you have believed!”

So, hear the word of the Lord as you start out on your journey into the year, “…Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.” Habakkuk‬ ‭2:2‬.

1. *Let the Curtains Fall*

Every New Year offers us an opportunity for a new beginning. God is a God of a many chances, and no matter how the previous year had been, here is another opportunity for a fresh start.

We have all heard the story of Edison, how on the night of December 9, 1914, he lost millions of dollars as his industry was completely destroyed by fire. Though much of his life’s work went up in flames that night, Edison saw in the disaster, an opportunity to start afresh, and as the story goes, three weeks after the fire, his firm delivered the first phonograph.

Edison was able to move beyond the charred embers of his hopes and dreams, because he was willing to do one thing; he was willing to forget the past and dream again. To rise above our past disappointments, we also must learn to do the same. So, let the curtains fall on your past.

Apostle Paul shows us his secret in Philippians‬ ‭3‬, he says,‭ “Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” ‭‭Philippians‬ 3:13-14.

Many people are shackled by the consciousness of their past, failure or success, but failure for most. There is a reluctance to venture again because, as they say, “once beaten, twice shy.” But you don’t have to fall for that lie of the enemy. God’s word says, “For though a righteous man falls seven times, he rises again” (Prov 24:16 NIV).

“I am not qualified,” you may say. But you see, with God, what disqualified you is really what qualifies you. For God chooses the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty. “And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: That no flesh should glory in his presence.” ‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭1:27-29‬.

‬‬God knows all about you and He says to you, “I got you child.”

It’s also time to lay aside the blame game for good, if that has been a fall-back for you when things don’t work out. Quit playing the victim by continuing to blame others for your situation in life. Maturity has a lot to do with taking responsibility, and you are not doing that when you keep blaming others for the way your life has turned out.

Become more alive to your responsibilities. Life will become less like a roller coaster ride, when you start to take over the reins of your own life through God’s word.

So, as you navigate this year, don’t incarcerate yourself in your past. Don’t turn it into your prison or let it hinder you from entering into what God has for you. Hear the word of the Lord to you: ““Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” Isaiah‬ ‭43:18-19‬ ‭NIV

*Day 5*

Good morning Brethren!

Today we will be looking at “The Acts”

What would be your acts/ actions this year? during this phase? this season?... and regarding that choice you need to make?

On the last day of last year, I read again a verse of scripture that never stops making my heart beat really fast 😊
Phil 2 vs 20.-21. Apostle Paul spoke about Timothy. He was talking to a group of Christians. He said -
“I have no one else like him, who will show genuine concern for your welfare. For everyone else looks out for their own interest, not those of Jesus Christ".

What would have been said last year of you…& I?
What will be said this New beginning ….?

Let us press into things that matter to Christ!... and surely all other things will be added to us, for our Father surely knows we need them.

The book of Acts of The Apostles ended at Acts Chapter 28…hence we are taking the baton further as Acts 29 believers -

What is our script?
What is your part
in this script?

The fundamental of our act is clearly stated in the The Bible
- You are the light of the world – Matt 5 Vs 14-16
- You are the salt of the earth – Matt 5 Vs 13
- You are ambassadors for Christ – 2 Cor 5 Vs 20
So, the script is clear – we are to as individuals and collectively shine our lights and sweeten and preserve our sphere of contact as salt would do.…What does this even mean?

You know best, you know what you have in your hands, what you could do best, better than anyone, with ease, with grace, it might not be yielding money passe now but it is the light that you have been given and it will bear fruit (and supplies/money etc) if you stick to it. God has given each of us gifts/talents: uniquely and different from all others. As you seek to discover your gifts and talents (if you haven’t yet) this translates to seeking to establish the kingdom of God through you. As you shine and walk in your gift/ the light that you have been
given– it translates to the establishment of the Kingdom in your sphere of contact... And surely all other things will be added to you.

In essence Brethren, our gifts and talents have been given us not for a myopic (me and mine) purpose but for purpose greater than ourselves…Let your light so shine that men will glorify your father in heaven…

In these last days, much more than ever, our choices will be tested, our commitments will be tried, our profession of faith will be jeered at and threatened to say the least…but we have got The Power, we got the resources, we have got the stance and the grace to run well and finish strong. The whole of heaven is rooting for us, the earth is groaning for our manifestation, the time is now to shine and preserve…
God seeks for us to worship in Spirit and in truth…, with our actions, our reactions, our responses ---- Christ once said of some…they worshipped me with their mouths, but their hearts was far from me. May
this not be our portion in Jesus’ name. Amen

I pray we each chose aright every minute of every day, every day of every week, every week of every month …with every breath that we take. As we chose after the spirit and not after the flesh, therein is our forever stance and commitment – These choices are our worship…

I trust we can all safely conclude our teachings this week in an agreement that the stage is set, the odds are in our favour and the choice is ours.
What then is the real conclusion of the matter?

It is the choosing of a more excellent way of doing things and manifesting The Kingdom this year…from this new beginning…to the times ahead.

As we make our choices and birth dreams, desires and purpose… Let us remember and be guided by the truth that, Faith works by love – the more excellent way-

1 Cor 13
If I speak in the tongues[a] of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3 If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.
4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears. 11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. 12 For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

Selah!

Cheers All!

Happy birthing & Happy journeying!

*Day 3*

Welcome to another blessing of a day Brethren!

Yesterday we looked at our place/ stance in these beginning days so to say
Today we will be looking at Who we have got with us here -
From our foundation….
- _What then shall we say to these things? … If God be for us who can be against us? Rom 8 Vs 31- NIV_

- _But the advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of the things the father has said to you. John 14 vs 26
- If you love me, keep my commands, And I will ask the father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever - - the spirit of truth John 14 vs 15-17
- Don’t be afraid, They that are with us are more than they with them – 2Kings 6 vs 16 NIV
- Greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world – 1 John 4 vs 4 NIV

Building on our foundation…. we have
- Though one may be overpowered. A three stranded cord cannot be easily broken- Ecc 4 vs 12
The gift of family and friends to share our way...
- As iron sharpens iron so one person sharpens another – Prov 27 vs 17
What if I am an introvert – I don’t have many friends…? thank God for the sweet fellowship of the Holy Spirit at our disposal!
What if I don’t have family…I am yet to be married- note the words- yet to be married –still... thank God for the sweet fellowship of the Holy Spirit at our disposal!

Wether introverted, extroverted, with family and friends or without, the truth of God’s will, purpose and provision for each of us remains the same -

He has given us all things that partain to life and godliness…having promise of life here on earth and in the world to come!
So , in essence the rewards of our godliness, righteousness is not only to be looked forward to in heaven but to be enjoyed here on earth…all to His glory!

How do we activate this?

In the beginning the earth was
1. without form and void,
2. Darkness covered the face of the earth
3. The Holy Spirit hovered over all of the formless, dark, void
God saw all these – facts. What did He do?
He called forth His desire – Let there be light
And what happened?
And there was light!

So let’s again take a cue afresh from our father God
1. Invite the Holy Spirit to Hover afresh on “that situation”,
2. acknowledge the Lord as God in it (Do not lean on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge the Lord as God and He will make straight your paths)
3. Then speak your desired result (according to God’s will) Remember- when we pray
according to His will He hears us and He answers us. Pls note this is not "name it, claim it…". This is recreating your world!
Oh blessed be our God!

Looking forward to tomorrow.
Have a great day of pulling into your reality God's finished work and purpose for your every situation. Surely Jesus is Lord over All.
I bid you to Rejoice in The Lord, Again I say Rejoice!

Cheers All.

*Day 2*

Good morning Brethren,

Today, we will be looking at our place in relation to being able to birth aright at New Beginnings. An anchor for birthing without limits is understanding and taking hold of the Word of God for the season. As we envision the days ahead culminating in the year we are in, anchoring on the scripture below would be apt and rewarding -

_God is able to do far exceedingly abundantly above all that we can ask, think or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, that same Power that raised Christ from the dead - Eph 3 Vs 20-_ Paraphrased
Blessed be our God!

*Your place*
It is explicit in scripture that
Christ is seated in heavenly places far above principalities and powers…and we are seated alongside Him.
What kind of understanding of this do you… do we have? Is this a fiction of our imagination, a product of our desire, or a far off hope which chants ever so often…"one day I will" …?
Not so brethren! Being
seated alongside Christ this very moment is our reality!
This is not something that needs to be hoped for or…looked forward to…
It is something that already happened! It is more real that your next meal or the fulfilment of that plan in your heart.

Let us re-read our life’s reality here! I am excited!

_As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, 2 in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. 3 All of _us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our flesh[a]_ _and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature deserving of wrath. 4 But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, 5 made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. 6 And_ God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ
Jesus, 7 in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressedin his_ kindness to us in Christ Jesus. 8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast. 10 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

Oh Halleluyah!

Our reality is fab! Let’s Live it!

I attended a sister’s funeral service some months back via zoom and it was a life impacting experience. The highlight for me was what I would term a brave choice of “A New beginning”.
I had listened intently as her first son gave his tribute- it was of course laden -full -of emotion, stops and starts…trembling voice, a deep longing for this cup to pass over him shone through his “speech”…, so did the unimaginable pain he would have been feeling saying bye to his Mum…then, he couldn’t finish his speech…he kind of gave up his attempt and handed up his attempt and handed the microphone to the next speaker.
A number of people spoke and that part of the programme was about to be rounded up when suddenly, this young man came back to the stage and got hold of the microphone….again
His voice somehow seemed changed. He suddenly had a subtle smile and went on to deliver another speech!
He started with something like “I changed my mind”. I think my Mum would have me deliver a better speech. Yes, I do miss her but she raised me to be strong. I want her to know her work was good…So I will start afresh and do this all over… At the end of this speech, although I guess all understood his disposition during his first speech and none would have condemned him for it… but for this second speech, he got a standing ovation.

I was watching on zoom. I must confess I did not stand but my heart saluted his gusty bravery, his choice of a comeback, his defying of protocol, his recognition that he could come back…give another go at it…he could do it over again. A new beginning.

As long as we have life a.k.a breath in our lungs, we still have a chance of that new beginning. In little things, in big things, in mundane things, in very important things…in things that mightn’t matter to any but you…in things that would matter to all…above all in things that matter to Christ our Lord.

Selah!

What can you (we, I) give another go at?
I look forward to continuing tomorrow.

Have a great day All.
