*Theme: From Waiting to Winning*
*Preacher: Pst. E.A. Adeboye*
In his insightful message, Pst. E.A. Adeboye emphasized that sometimes, delays are strategically designed to showcase the triumph of those who persevere. The phrase "he who laughs last, laughs best" comes to mind, highlighting the importance of patience and trust in God's timing.
One may wonder if there's anything they can do to expedite the fulfillment of their prayers. The Bible offers valuable insights into this query. In Psalm 102:13, we read, "Thou shalt arise, and have mercy upon Zion: for the time to favour her, yea, the set time, is come." This verse underscores the notion that God has a predetermined time for every situation.
Moreover, Daniel 2:20-21 declares, "Blessed be the name of God for ever and ever: for wisdom and might are his: And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding." This passage highlights God's sovereignty over time and circumstances. He possesses the power to transform "not yet" into "now."
The Bible provides several examples of God's ability to turn "not yet" into "now." Two notable instances are:
1. *The Miracle at Cana* (John 2:1-12): Jesus' response to Mary, "My hour is not yet come," seemed to indicate a delay. However, within an hour, He performed the miracle of turning water into wine, demonstrating His power to change circumstances in an instant.
2. *The Syrophenician Woman's Plea* (Matthew 15:21-28): Jesus' initial response to the woman's request seemed dismissive, but her unwavering faith moved Him. He declared, "O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour." This incident showcases God's willingness to respond to faith and transform situations in a moment.
As we wait on God, let us remember that His delays are not denial.
