PRESS RELEASE
We can only survive these harsh economic times by exercising strong faith in God – says GKS President
The President of God’s Kingdom Society (GKS) – The Church of the Living God, Brother Felix Ekundayo Adedokun has urged on Christians to always exercise strong faith in God Almighty so as to survive these difficult economic times as He alone can deliver mankind from the present challenges.
He made the charge during the Church’s Freedom Day celebration, held on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at Salem City, Warri, Delta State, Nigeria – the headquarters of the Church.
In his address entitled: “The Just Shall Live By Faith” the GKS President noted that “This is the time the devil is intensifying his onslaughts against truth and righteousness and will strive to cause people of righteous inclination to derail”. Quoting copiously from the Holy Scriptures, he stated: “It is when we have strong faith that God, with Whom all things are possible, will deliver us from every circumstance, according to His will and show Himself strong on our behalf by His grace.” Brother Adedokun further admonished Christians to maintain their faith in God, not minding the present difficulties as that is the only condition to obtain His favour and the ultimate reward, which is salvation by His grace.
The occasion, which was held to mark the birth anniversary of Jesus Christ, witnessed an unprecedented crowd of members and friends of the Church. During the Freedom Day Divine Service, Brother Progress Ayikimi, a Minister of the Church, re-echoed the Church’s long-held teaching that Jesus Christ was born in the month of October and not December. In his sermon entitled: Was Christ Born on Christmas Day? Brother Ayikimi emphasized that Bible Chronology, climatic and historical facts emphatically and unequivocally show that Jesus Christ was born in the month of October. Other highlights of the celebration included prayers, special thanksgiving to God, musical presentations by the GKS Choir, Warri and various choral groups in the Church. There was also a reception at the GKS headquarters’ playground where those who attended were treated to entertainment with music and refreshments by God’s grace.
The GKS is an international Christian organisation established in 1934 in Lagos dedicated to the preaching of the saving gospel of Christ. She has been commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ in October since the early years of her founding, through the founding instrument, Saint Gideon M. Urhobo.
Yours faithfully,
Ogechukwu Emmanuel Oriaku
