*INTRODUCTION*

There are many factors to heartbreaking and sorrows. The society we are in is very challenging. Economy situation is contributing negatively to people's unhappy condition. Disappointment from people you love. When it seems the enemy is gaining ground and feels defeated.
When the temperature of a vehicle rises, it reduces the velocity at which you move. You can not accelerate as before. It forces out the water, very hot. Every driver stops and allow it to cool down and then refill the water to avoid a big damage to the vehicle.
Prophet Elisha could not prophecy because of anger, he has to calm himself down with music.

*I. WHAT BLOCKS THE FLOW OF GOD'S POWER?*

Just to mention few.
1. Anger - It is capable of silencing the Spirit of God in the life of any child of God. vs 14-15. Elisha could overcome this by singing praises to God.
2. Fear - When you see a challenge greater than you, fear set in. It takes away boldness to sing and turns one to coward. Prov. 29:25
3. Sin - Sin is powerful to take away praises from anyone's mouth. It pushes one far away from God. Isaiah 59:1-2.

*II. THE POWER OF PRAISES*
1. Praises heal a broken heart. Ps 147:3
2. Praises cool down a weeping heart.
3. Praises restore a weary heart. Ps 23:2-3
4. Praises gather a scattered heart.
5. Praises exalt God. Ps 145:1
6. Praises move the hands of God. 2 Chro. 20:14-22
7. God harbor the praises of His children. Ps 22:3
8. Praise is declaring God's victory and dominion over the universe. Ps 8:1
9. Praise is a weapon in the mouth of babes. Ps 8: 2

*CONCLUSION:*

When you shift your attention away from your challenges, problem or fears to the victory Jesus had won for you, praises will follow and that victory will be established.

Introduction

God is still calling you back to Christ. Bethel is not a new address. It is the place of your first encounter that you left. The altar is still standing. The fire may have gone low, but the stones are still there.

4 BENEFITS OF LIVING AT BETHEL,

1, BETHEL RESTORES GOD S PROMISE AND VISION, Gen 13,14-17
After Abram returned to Bethel, God appeared again and said Lift up your eyes, all the land I will give you. Sin makes you short sighted. At Bethel, God renews His covenant. He does not just pardon you, He re commissions you. You leave Bethel with a word, not just relief.

2, BETHEL RESTORES YOUR WORSHIP AND VOICE, Gen 13,4
Abram called on the name of the LORD. That is prayer and praise returning. Many believers lose their fire, joy, testimony, and prayer life in Shechem. Bethel brings back your song. When worship returns, dryness breaks.

3, BETHEL PREPARES YOU FOR BIGGER BATTLES, Gen 13 to Gen 14
Immediately after Bethel, Abram rescued Lot and met Melchizedek. You cannot win your next spiritual war with a cold altar. Bethel strengthens you, refuels you, and positions you for victory. No Bethel, no battle strength.

4, BETHEL REUNITES YOU TO GOD AND REMOVES YOUR SHAME, Luke 15,20-24,
The prodigal left home and ended up feeding pigs. But when he returned, the Father ran to him, put a robe on his shame, and restored his sonship. Bethel does not focus on your failure. It restores your identity. You come back as a servant, God receives you as a son.

Conclusion

Brethren, the famine is over. Bethel is not lost, you left it. God never moved. You went to Egypt for bread and found shame. You fished all night and caught nothing. But tonight Jesus stands on the shore asking only one thing, Do you love Me, John 21,15

Your failure is not final. Your Bethel is one decision away. Come home. Build the altar again.
