MONDAY 16TH JUNE 2025

FIRST READING
A reading from the second Letter of Saint Paul to the Corinthians (2 Corinthians 6:1-10)
As servants of God we commend ourselves in every way.

Brethren: Working together with Christ, we entreat you not to accept the grace of God in vain. For he says, “At the acceptable time I have listened to you, and helped you on the day of salvation.” Behold, now is the acceptable time; behold, now is the day of salvation. We put no obstacle in any one’s way, so that no fault may be found with our ministry, but as servants of God we commend ourselves in every way: through great endurance, in afflictions, hardships, calamities, beatings, imprisonments, tumults, labours, watching, hunger; by purity, knowledge, forbearance, kindness, the Holy Spirit, genuine love, truthful speech, and the power of God; with the weapons of righteousness for the right hand and for the left; in honour and dishonour, in ill repute and good repute. We are treated as impostors, and yet are true; as unknown, and yet well known; as dying, and behold we live; as punished, and yet not killed; as sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing everything.

The word of the Lord.

RESPONSORIAL PSALM Psalm 98:1.2-3ab.3cd-4 (R. 2a)
R/. The Lord has made known his salvation.

O sing a new song to the Lord,
for he has worked wonders.
His right hand and his holy arm
have brought salvation. R/.

The Lord has made known his salvation,
has shown his deliverance to the nations.
He has remembered his merciful love
and his truth for the house of Israel. R.

R/. The Lord has made known his salvation.

All the ends of the earth have seen
the salvation of our God.
Shout to the Lord, all the earth;
break forth into joyous song,
and sing out your praise. R/.

ALLELUIA Psalm 119:105
Alleluia. Your word is a lamp for my feet, and a light for my path. Alleluia.

GOSPEL
A reading from the holy Gospel according to Matthew (Matthew 5:38-42)
“I say to you, Do not resist one who is evil.”

At that time: Jesus said to his disciples, “You have heard that it was said, ‘An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.’ But I say to you, ‘Do not resist one who is evil. But if any one strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also; and if any one would sue you and take your coat, let him have your cloak as well; and if any one forces you to go one mile, go with him two miles. Give to him who begs from you, and do not refuse him who would borrow from you.”

READINGS AT MASS
Sunday June 15, 2025
THE MOST HOLY TRINITY (SOLEMNITY) (C)

FIRST READING
A reading from the Book of Proverbs (Proverbs 8:22-31)
Before the beginning of the earth, wisdom was brought forth.

Thus speaks the Wisdom of God: “The Lord created me at the beginning of his work, the first of his acts of old. Ages ago I was set up, at the first, before the beginning of the earth. When there were no depths I was brought forth, when there were no springs abounding with water, before the mountains had been shaped, before the hills, I was brought forth; before he had made the earth with its fields, or the first of the dust of the world. When he established the heavens, I was there, when he drew a circle on the face of the deep, when he made firm the skies above, when he established the fountains of the deep, when he assigned to the sea its limit, so that the waters might not transgress his command, when he marked out the foundations of the earth, then I was beside him, like a master workman; and I was daily his delight, rejoicing before him always, rejoicing in his inhabited world and delighting in the sons of men.”

The word of the Lord.

RESPONSORIAL PSALM Psalm 8:4-5.6-7a.7b-9 (R. 2a)
R/. O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name
through all the earth!

When I see the heavens, the work of your fingers,
the moon and the stars which you arranged,
what is man that you should keep him in mind,
the son of man that you care for him? R/.

Yet you have made him little lower than the angels;
with glory and honour you crowned him,
gave him power over the works of your hands. R/.

R/. O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name
through all the earth!

You put all things under his feet,
all of them, sheep and oxen,
yes, even the cattle of the fields,
birds of the air, and fish of the sea
that make their way through the waters. R/.

SECOND READING
A reading from the Letter of Saint Paul to the Romans (Romans 5:1-5)
To God through Christ in the love which is poured out through the Spirit.

Brethren: Since we are justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through him we have obtained access to this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in our hope of sharing the glory of God. More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not disappoint us, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.

The word of the Lord.

ALLELUIA Revelation 1:8
Alleluia. Glory to the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit: to God who is, who was, and who is to come. Alleluia.

GOSPEL
A reading from the holy Gospel according to John (John 16:12-15)
Whatever the Father has is mine. The Spirit will receive what I give and tell you about it.

At that time: Jesus said to his disciples, “I have yet many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth; for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come. He will glorify me, for he will take what is mine and declare it to you. All that the Father has is mine; therefore I said that he will take what is mine and declare it to you.”

ST BARNABAS, Ap. (MEMORIAL)

FIRST READING
A reading from the Acts of the Apostles (Acts 11:21b-26; 13.1-3)
“He was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and of faith.”

In those days: A great number that believed turned to the Lord. News of this came to the ears of the Church in Jerusalem, and they sent Barnabas to Antioch. When he came and saw the grace of God, he was glad; and he exhorted them all to remain faithful to the Lord with steadfast purpose; for he was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and of faith. And a large company was added to the Lord. So Barnabas went to Tarsus to look for Saul; and when he had found him, he brought him to Antioch. For a whole year they met with the Church, and taught a large company of people; and in Antioch the disciples were for the first time called Christians. Now in the Church at Antioch there were prophets and teachers, Barnabas, Symeon who was called Niger, Lucius of Cyrene, Manaen a member of the court of Herod the tetrarch, and Saul. While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.” Then after fasting and praying they laid their hands on them and sent them off.

The word of the Lord.

RESPONSORIAL PSALM Psalm 98:1.2-3ab.3cd-4.5-6 (R. 2b)
R/. The Lord has shown his deliverance to the nations.

O sing a new song to the Lord,
for he has worked wonders.
His right hand and his holy arm
have brought salvation. R/.

The Lord has made known his salvation,
has shown his deliverance to the nations.
He has remembered his merciful love

R/. The Lord has shown his deliverance to the nations.

All the ends of the earth have seen
the salvation of our God.
Shout to the Lord, all the earth;
break forth into joyous song,
and sing out your praise. R/.

Sing psalms to the Lord with the harp,
with the harp and the sound of song.
With trumpets and the sound of the horn,
raise a shout before the King, the Lord. R/.

ALLELUIA Psalm 25:4b.5a
Alleluia. Teach me your paths, O Lord. Guide me in your truth. Alleluia.

GOSPEL
A reading from the holy Gospel according to Matthew (Matthew 5: 17- 19)
I have come not to abolish the law, but to fulfil it.

At that time: Jesus said to his disciples, “Do not think that I have come to abolish the law and the prophets; I have come not to abolish them but to fulfil them. For truly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the law until all is accomplished. Whoever then relaxes one of the least of these commandments and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but he who does them and teaches them shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.”

10TH JUNE 2025

FIRST READING
Jesus was not Yes and No,’ but in him if is always Yes.
A reading from the second Letter of Saint Paul to the Corinthians (2 Corinthians 1:18-22)

Brethren: As surely as God is faithful, our word to you has not been Yes and No. For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, whom we preached among you, Silvanus and Timothy and I, was not Yes and No; but in him it is always Yes. For all the promises of God find their Yes in him. That is why we utter the Amen through him, to the glory of God. But it is God who establishes us with you in Christ, and has commissioned us; he has put his seal upon us and given us his Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee.

The word of the Lord.

RESPONSORIAL PSALM Ps 119: 129. 130. 131.I 32.133.135 (R. 135a)
R/. Lord, let your face shine forth on your servant.

Your decrees are wonderful indeed;
therefore my soul obeys them. R/.

The unfolding of your word gives light,
and understanding to the simple. R/.

I have opened my mouth and I sigh,
for I yearn for your commands. R/.

R/. Lord, let your face shine forth on your servant.

Turn and have mercy on me,
as is your rule for those who love your name. R/.

Let my steps be guided by your promise;
may evil never rule me. R/.

Let your face shine forth on your servant,
and teach me your decrees. R/.

ALLELUIA Matthew 5:16
Alleluia. Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father. Alleluia.

GOSPEL
“You are the light of the world.”
A reading from the holy Gospel according to Matthew (Matthew 5:13-16)

At that time: Jesus said to his disciples, “You are the salt of the earth; but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trodden under foot by men. “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do men light a lamp and put it under a bushel, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”

09/06/2025

Eight Blesseds are scheduled to be elevated to On June 13, 2025, Pope Leo XIV will convene his first ordinary public consistory at the Vatican to approve the canonizations of eight blessed individuals whose causes were advanced by Pope Francis. The consistory will finalize the canonization process by voting to set the date for the proclamation of their sainthood. The Office of Liturgical Celebrations confirmed the list, which includes Blessed Bartolo Longo, an Italian layman, lawyer, and founder of the Shrine of Our Lady of the Rosary in Pompeii. Longo, a former spiritualist and Satanist, converted to Catholicism and became a dedicated catechist and advocate for the poor, renowned for promoting devotion to the rosary. The consistory is also expected to vote on the canonization date of Venezuelan José Gregorio Hernández, known as the "doctor of the poor," and Peter To Rot, the first blessed from Papua New Guinea, martyred in World War II for defending marriage. The list also include Vincenza Maria Poloni, founder of the Sisters of Mercy of Verona, credited with a miraculous cure; Ignazio Choukrallah Maloyan, a bishop martyred during the Armenian genocide; and María del Monte Carmelo Rendiles Martínez ("Mother Carmen"), founder of the Congregation of the Servants of Jesus, who is poised to become Venezuela’s first female saint, remembered for her kindness and prudence, Maria Troncatti, an Italian missionary and member of the Congregation of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians who served in Ecuador, and Pier Giorgio Frassati, a lay Dominican known for his love for the Eucharist, the Virgin Mary, service to the poor, and evangelization through politics. Frassati's canonization is scheduled for August 3.

FIRST READING
‘The offspring of the woman will crush your’
A reading from the book of Genesis 3:9-15, 20

After Adam had eaten of the tree, the Lord God called him and asked him, “Where are you?” He answered, “I heard you in the garden; but I was afraid, because I was naked, so I hid myself.” Then he asked, “Who told you that you were naked? You have eaten, then, from the tree of which I had forbidden you to eat!” The man replied, “The woman whom you put here with me – she gave me fruit from the tree, and so I ate it. “The LORD God then asked the woman, “Why did you do such a thing?” The woman answered “The serpent tricked me into it, so I ate it.” Then the LORD God said to the serpent: “Because you have done this, you shall be banned from all the animals and from all the wild creatures; on your belly shall you crawl, and dirt shall you eat all the days of your life. I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; He will stride at you head, while you strike at his heel.” The man called his wife Eve, because she became the mother of all those who live..

RESPONSORIAL PSALM - Psalm 86 (87)
R/. Of you are told glorious things, O city of God!

On the holy mountain is his city
cherished by the Lord.
The Lord prefers the gates of Zion
to all Jacob’s dwellings. R/.

Of you are told glorious things,
O city of God!
‘Zion shall be called “Mother”
for all shall be her children R/.

R/. Of you are told glorious things, O city of God!

It is he, the Lord Most High,
who gives each his place.
In his register of peoples he writes:
‘These are her children,’
and while they dance they will sing:
‘In you all find their home,’ R/.

Alleluia
Happy are you, holy Virgin Mary, and most worthy of all praise, for from you arose the sun of justice, Christ our God.

GOSPEL
‘Behold your son. Behold your mother.’
A reading from the Holy Gospel according to John (John 19:25-34)

Stand by the cross of Jesus were his mother and his mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary of Magdala. When Jesus saw his mother and the disciples there whom he loved, he said to his mother. “Woman, behold, your son.” Then he said to the disciple, “Behold you mother,” And from that hour the disciples took her into his home. After this, aware that everything was now finished, in order that the scripture might be fulfilled. Jesus said, “I thirst.” There was a vessel filled with common wine. So they put a sponge soaked in wine on a sprig of hyssop and put it up to his mouth. When Jesus had taken the wine, he said, “It is finished.” And bowing his head he handed over the spirit. Now since it was preparation day, in order that the bodies might not remain on the cross on the Sabbath, for the Sabbath day of that week was a solemn one, the Jews asked Pilate that their legs be broken and they be taken down. So the soldiers came and broke the legs of the first and them of the other one who was crucified with Jesus. But when they came to Jesus and saw that he was already dead, they did not break his legs, but one soldier thrust his lance into his side, and immediately blood and water flowed out.
