SEEKING THE KINGDOM IS NOT A CHURCH ACTIVITY. IT IS A DAILY STANDARD.

There is a religious version of seeking the kingdom that keeps the concept safely inside the walls of the church. It becomes about attending services, fulfilling rostered duties, and showing up for programs. That version is manageable and comfortable, but almost entirely misses the point.

Matthew 6:33 is not a church instruction. It is a life instruction.

The Living Bible Translation puts it plainly: “and he will give them to you if you give him first place in your life and live as he wants you to.

Living for Him applies to the workshop, the market stall, the office, and the trade. It means that Christ must be reflective in every level of what you do on a daily basis.

REPENTANCE IS NOT A CONFESSION. IT IS A CHANGED CHARACTER.

The confession came from the mouth, but the change of character did not follow. That is the root of it. Repentance is not a statement. Repentance is a change of character and a change of mindset. When a person gives their life to Christ but continues to operate by the same values, shortcuts, and corrupt practices they used before, nothing has actually changed. The mouth said yes, but the life did not turn. Until the confession in the mouth becomes a transformation in how a person does business, treats others, and handles what belongs to others, the conversion is incomplete.

A society full of churchgoers can still be corrupt. The issue isn’t attendance but lack of genuine character change. God is not moved by numbers. He responds to the lives behind the words.

It's easy to thank God when life goes well.
When things work out, and you have a story, gratitude comes naturally.

There is a deeper kind of gratitude that many people haven’t experienced yet: being thankful for the challenges themselves. When you look back honestly at what tough times have brought you, you start to see that those experiences helped remove fear and lighten your burdens. Fear can hold you back, but facing challenges rather than avoiding them helps you overcome it.

Gratitude is not just an emotional response to good news. It is a posture toward God that says I trust that what he has allowed into my life has a purpose, even when I cannot see it yet.

YOU CANNOT LIVE RIGHT ON WILLPOWER ALONE

Many of us have made promises to God that we truly intended to keep.

We were sincere.

We were determined.

Assuming that strong will and personal resolve are enough for righteous living is one of the most common and costly mistakes we can make as believers.

Determination alone does not lead to righteousness.

When Jesus came out of the water at his baptism, the Holy Spirit came upon him, and he was immediately driven into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. If the Son of God faced that level of targeted opposition the moment he stepped into his assignment, then what makes any of us think that our willpower will be sufficient when the real pressure lands on us?

The only thing that will hold you in that moment is the word of God that has already been stored inside you. Psalm 119:11 says, " Your word has I hidden in my heart that I might not sin against you.”

The word must already be within before the temptation arrives. You cannot reach for something you never put in.

The day your temptation comes, may you have enough word inside you to release what will set you free from the hand of the devil.

SOME PEOPLE LEFT THE FAITH BECAUSE OF WHAT YOU DID WITH WHAT THEY TOLD YOU IN CONFIDENCE

As a pastor, I want to be open with you about something important.

You might be surprised by how much gossip and backbiting happens among believers.

Sometimes, it is even more common inside the church than outside. People who would never openly sin might still share something told to them in confidence with others.

Scripture tells us to confess our faults to one another, but this only works when the person listening can be trusted to keep it private.

Some people stopped coming to church for this reason—not because of God or doctrine, but because they shared something personal with someone they trusted, and it was spread around. This made them feel the church was not a safe place, and some never returned. God is looking for people He can trust with private matters. The lives and stories shared with you through trust are not meant to be shared with others.

In God’s Kingdom, those who are responsible are given greater opportunities. Responsibility is not just about handling money or tasks; it also means respecting what someone has trusted you to hear.
