For God So Loved the World
Summary on John 3:16. Discover how much God loves you today.
"God so loved the world that he gave His only begotten Son." As we take a look at this, we must understand that "begotten" means "procreated or generated." Jesus was born of a woman yet, was not the seed of a man. Instead, He was the seed of God. He was "generated" by God and placed in the womb of a woman. This was a birth in the world but not of the world.
God did not love how the world had become but through benevolence He sent His Son. It was because of how we had become that this was done. He sent Jesus to us because we needed to be saved. He came to be the sacrifice for all mankind @ the cross. He came not to condemn, rather to offer a way that we could be saved.
GOD’S LOVE
The gospel of Jesus Christ contains an entirely different message than do other religions. Previous to this gospel, people perceived that God was a judgmental God who waited to catch them in sin and to punish them. Other religions teach that God is a distant, holy god who must be impressed by the works of men and women in order to be favorable to them. Jesus comes and proclaims that God is a God of love. Love is the defining characteristic of God.
God was not satisfied in merely speaking words of love to God’s creation. God went farther in communicating God’s love. God decided to demonstrate God’s love for humankind by sending his Son to take on human form and to die for the sins of others on the cross
God has an intense desire for a relationship with God’s creation. God does not wait for us to turn to God, or to become God’s friends. Instead, even when we were enemies, God demonstrated God’s love for us by sending God’s son, Jesus, to suffer and die for us
BELIEVE
The verse reads, “For God so loved the world that whoever believes in him...” The word, “believe” is a present tense verb. It can also be translated to trust or to have faith.
To believe means more than to hold a specific set of teaching to be true. Certainly, it is important to believe in the truth; God’s love and forgiveness through the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
And what must we believe? We must believe that Jesus was the only begotten Son of God and that God sent Him to the world. Not that He sent Him to be part of the world, yet He was sent to the world. He was sent to offer salvation to all who believe in Him.
God invites us to live in the reality of God’s love. To know that we are forgiven, and that there is nothing that we need to do in order to impress God. God also invites us to live in the new relationship that we have with God because of what Jesus Christ did for us . We are able to live each day in the know of God’s love, and that God is present in our lives and that God’s power is a part of our lives.
ETERNAL LIFE
In the scripture, life and death are seen from the perspective of relationships. Death is a broken, separated relationship. Life is a living and healthy relationship.
Jesus has been raised from the dead. He has one the victory over death. Because of what he has done, we know that death is no longer the final event of our lives. We know that because Jesus lives we shall live also. There is life after death.
There is more to eternal life, though, than just life after death. Eternal life begins at our baptism, or when God makes himself real to us. Eternal life is walking in a living, dynamic relationship with Jesus Christ. Eternal life is something that can be a part of our everyday experience, now.
CONCLUSION
Today We celebrate that God so loved the world that he gave his only son that whosoever believes on him should not perish but have eternal life. We celebrate that God has touched our lives with God’s love and we will never be the same.
For God so loved the world… All of us at times look towards heaven and ask “Daddy, do you love me?” our hearts yearn to hear the answer. Do you love me? From heaven comes the resounding response – “Yes, my dearest child I love you @ the cross when I send Jesus to die for you. God love you more than you can imagine. More purely than you can comprehend. More deeply than your heart can conceive and for as long as eternity remains. TODAY REPENT AND BELIEVE IN JESUS LOVE FOR YOU @ THE CROSS. As you believe today God’s love will touched our lives and we will never be the same.

Not UNDER LAW, But UNDER GRACE

For sin will have no dominion over you, since you are not under law but under grace. —Romans 6:14

The opening question of Romans 6, “How can we who died to sin still live in it?” (v. 2), is answered by Paul in a surprising way here at the end of the opening section of the chapter. In the preceding verses, he’s given us some pretty clear imperatives:

Let not sin reign in your mortal body. (v. 12)

Do not present your members to sin as instruments for righteousness. (v. 13)

Present yourselves to God and your members to God as instruments of righteousness. (v. 13)

At last! you might be thinking. Finally, a list of commands! While it is true that Paul is giving us imperatives in verses 12–13, in verse 14 Paul does an astonishing thing. He jumps right back into the gospel indicatives (declarations) again and makes a glorious promise: “Sin will have no dominion over you.” This statement is not a command—“Don’t let sin have dominion over you”— but rather a guarantee: “Sin shall certainly not be your Lord—now or ever!”40 If we think deeply about the commands he’s just given, this promise is exactly what we need to hear.

Doesn’t it seem like Christians are always looking for the secret to freedom from their bo***ge to sin and failure? So Paul follows this glorious promise of victory with an explanation

Sin will have no dominion over you for one simple reason: “you are not under law but under grace.” There it is, right there—the secret to living a life unencumbered by sin’s dominion. Sin’s domineering power in our life is obliterated because we are no longer under the law—we are under grace!

When Paul uses the word “under” (as in “under” law or grace), he is referring to being under the control of or under obligation to some-thing or someone, to being governed by something or someone who has power over you. Christians have been released from the tyranny of the law’s sin-engendering demands. They are no longer under the law’s “power, rule, sovereignty or command.”

This truth about our release from the law and victory over sin turns everything we assume about how to grow in holiness on its head, doesn’t it? Living under the law, piling on more and more rules, will make you sin more, not less. Always and in every case, and without fail, the law engenders more and more sin. The person who is under law, “upon whom only law has been brought to bear, whose life is being determined by the resources of law, is the bond servant of sin.”

Shockingly, believing that we have to perform in order to avoid condemnation and earn favor does not make us obey; in fact, it does the opposite. It occasions sin. Sin will have dominion over you when you are under law, when you consider yourself still alive and responsible to the law’s demands. The law does not lessen sin’s grip on your life. In fact, it makes it tighter.

Paul can make this astonishing promise of freedom from sin’s domination because he remembers and believes what God has pro-claimed. We are no longer under God’s condemning gaze; his eye is not the eye of Boko aram, looking for men to destroy. No, now his smiling countenance rests upon us, and all the blessings of grace, favor, and merit are ours today. Because we are now under grace, it is not possible to lose any of the blessings that grace confers upon us, because we were transferred out from under the law’s jurisdiction. We are not under law. The law’s authority to condemn and cut us off from God’s favor is no longer in force.

Do you see? You are no longer under the dominion of the law. It’s no longer possible for you to get a nasty visit from God, because everything that would have occasioned such displeasure with you has been done away with! You are not under the law; therefore, you cannot break it.

It is in the assurance of the continuance of this new status that the believer can go forth boldly and confidently to wage war against sin.

Today we are free to present ourselves to God as his children, and we don’t have to worry that he’ll write us up for failure to serve perfectly, or even at all. We don’t have to come to him and present our record to him as a way to earn favor; we don’t have to worry in any way about what the law says about us, because the law no longer applies to us.

The key to being free from the dominion of sin is that the sin-provoking, heart-condemning, faith-slaying law no longer applies. Park where you want, when you want. It won’t change God’s disposition toward you one whit, because there are no parking rules in his kingdom. Does that freedom scare you? The Lord is the neighborhood manager, and he has decided to bless you with all his favor and love, no matter where you park. Jesus parked perfectly in your stead, and the Father has chosen to treat you as though you were the one who had done so. He has released you from any obligation to park properly in the future. The law about where to park has been forever silenced. No law, just grace now and forever.

My guess is that you’re feeling a little nervous right now and that you’re tempted to ask the same question that Paul does in the next verse: “Yes, but, but . . . are we to sin because we are not under law but under grace?” to which I respond, “You can if you want to. But God forbid that you would want to in light of all he has done. Why would you want to put yourself back in any kind of slavery?” You’ve been freed from the law! You’ve been given unmerited favor, blessing, and love. Does that kind of love make you want to sin? Does that kind of freedom make you miss being a slave?

God frees us from sin’s dominion by changing our desires, not by reiterating the law’s requirements. He gives us a taste of the freedom that’s now ours: freedom from the law, freedom from sin. When the law says, “Don’t park there,” it makes you want to, doesn’t it? When, on the other hand, grace says, “Park where you want because I’ve already punished my Son and completely freed you from any parking obligations,” this love makes you love your neighbor and not park anywhere that might inconvenience him. It makes you love freedom and resist slavery either to the law or to selfishness.

Now, what do you want to do? Do you feel your heart being warmed with concern for your neighbor? I do. That is why sin won’t dominate our lives. Sin can’t dominate a life that’s been given that kind of freedom, that depth of grace. Drink deeply of his gracious favor to you and then, remembering his grace, park where you want.
Now is the moment of the Cross/salvation- believe that Jesus is the eternal son of God
Believe that Jesus lived a perfect obedient life to fulfill the law in your behave
Believe that Jesus died @ the cross for the forgiveness of your sins
Believe that He was raised from the dead to break the power of death and sin
Believe that He ascended to heaven and settled at the right hand of God the father reigning and He is reigning forever
Believe that he poured out the Holy Spirit for you to restore you and confess him as lord and savior and you will be save
Then exercise the faith that God has given you to believe and receive Jesus as your Savior and receive the Life He gives.
If you received Christ, then welcome to the family. You are now a child of God and have life in Him! – Olafisoye S.I

THE WORLD OVERCOME
In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart,
I have overcome the world – John 16 33
Tenderly Jesus sought to prepare the disciple for what was coming. The master had been welcomed with shouts of messianic acclaim HOSANNA’ blessed be he who comes in the name of the LORD”. Palm branches were waved in exultation. Surely the Coronation day had finally arrived. His disciple were enjoying Him, leaning on his chest but now his words threatened to dim their elation. They began to feel it; a chill was in the air, night was encroaching. He spoke: I am leaving this world and going to the father- john 16:28; behold, the hour……. Has come, when you will be scattered, each to his own home, and will leave me alone” – John 16:32. Confusion darkened their confidence. Was Jesus actually saying good-bye? But they had followed him for years, embraced him as messiah, banked on his triumph, left family and employment. How could he tell them that they couldn’t follow him?
We are so frequently misguided about God’s plans. Day by day we measure our progress toward anticipated goals; we judge God faithfulness and our performance by the proximity of the desired accomplishment. We suffer because we mistakenly believe that God’s goal and our goals are identical. In this confusion and sorrow, your savior, who isn’t insensible to your pain, speaks “I have said these things to you; in me you will have peace. In the world you will have tribulation, but take heart; I HAVE OVERCOME THE WORLD”( John 16:33).
The Gospel dispels darkness and confusion. It tell us we can have peace in Him. Jesus Christ has overcome the world. Although it seemed like night would eclipse the light, as though the ruler of this world would forever reign, the glorious radiance of the Son is seen with eyes of faith. He has already overcome the world, and it will not triumph over him and so, by implication, it will not triumph over us either because we are in union with him. He resisted the sinful temptation to prove his rightful place as Lord of the universe. He perfectly fulfilled every command of the law. He willingly laid down his life in our place and permanently threw open the door of Heaven. He sent the Holy spirit to comfort and teach us. We’re not alone, we’re not orphans; he hasn’t deserted us. And he has overcome the world through his conquest of our final enemy, death. The resurrection speaks powerfully into our live when it seems as though the light is about to be extinguished. But this world isn’t the end. The one who said, I have overcome the world walk through the travail of Gethsemane. He was nailed to the Cross, suffered, bled and died @ the cross but he rose again breaking the band of death and walked with his disciple again. He had overcome and now he is ruling at the seat of power by father right hand. Does it feel like night? Be of good cheer; morning will dawn. He has overcome the world

THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD
ROMAN 1:16-17
How much righteousness do you need to obey in order to gain salvation? will good intentions and sincere efforts suffice? NO, good intentions and sincere efforts will never be enough. Absolute perfect at all times is what is required. in roman 3:20 the bible say no one can be made right with God by doing what the law commands in light of these truth, the difficulty that is before every person is this: How am i going to obey and gain life and salvation? am i going to rely on my ability or on the other. is there hope for us? is there any power that can free us from the law"s demand and our failure? is there any salvation? YES and thank God the answer from heaven is the powerful remedy. it is resounding yes that shatters all our fears and insecurities. what is the answer ? The gospel, of course.
The gospel is the power of GOD for our salvation. it is the good news that the righteousness of God has been lived out in the person and work of Jesus Christ @ THE CROSS and that, if we believe, this perfect righteousness and record is ours- just as it was his. think of that salvation is ours because Jesus fulfilled every demand of the law from a heart of perfect love,`beginning with Bethlehem ignominious cries all through Calvary scandalous death. Salvation is ours because God has determined to provide it for us it is the gospel, not your works, goodness. the is the power of God for Salvation.
So today the questions you must ask yourself are these: WHO WILL YOU RELY ON TO FULFILL THE LAW? how will you answer your conscience demands? will you rest in the righteousness of God bestowed on you simply because you believe, or will you try harder so that you can approve of yourself and earn God"s favor? If you believe, the righteousness of God is yours- NOW AND YOU ARE SAVE FOREVER

NO MORE WRATH
Roman 4:15
During the times when you experience guilt or anticipation of punishment. Do you think God get mad at you? can you picture him saying you're really in trouble now? Do you think He's demanding, impatient, angry father just waiting for an opportunity to punish you? If your answer is yes to any of those questions, you need the comfort that only the Cross of Christ can bring, and for that comfort we’ll look to the book of roman 4:15. Here’s an amazing statement “for the law bring wrath but where there is no law there is no transgression" the reasons that we continue to experience guilt, shame and fear is that we've been a law-breaker all our life. We all know what it's like to live with and break-laws and rules. My parent told me to be home and how to make my bed. The government tells me to pay my tax. Book tells me how to communicate with my wife and children and of course the bible tells all of us God's command. We live in a world governed by laws and rules. The bible tell us God's law is good, But we all have a problem with it. even as Christians we don't obey it perfectly and so day after day we live with guilt and fear of punishment. Here's gospel truth of the cross that is just astounding and meant to comfort your guilt, burdened soul: because Jesus Christ perfectly obeyed every facet of the law in your place and then died on the cross bearing all the guilt and wrath that was rightfully yours, you are no longer obligated to obey the law as a way to avoid his wrath. God has already poured out every drop of his wrath on his son in your place @ the cross. You are no longer subject to wrath because wrath is the result of sin and sins can be committed only when there is a law that has been violated. So now, if you will come to Christ and believe in His finished work @ the CROSS there is no law that you can break that will bring God’s wrath upon you or as Paul put it ‘where there is no law no transgression and Hence NO WRATH” no wrath for you today because you believe in JESUS AND HIS SAVING WORK @ THE CROSS and God has no wrath left for Him. NO WRATH. NOT EVER
