MESSAGE:
Before anyone can boast of his or her name, the person must be very clear about his or her identity. When Moses encountered God at the site of the burning bush that was not consumed, he only knew God as God. However, when he was about to begin the ministry of delivering God's people from slavery, God had to lay emphasis on His true identity to Moses: ‘I am that I am,’ in other words, ‘I am who I say I am.’ Yoruba elders often say, “We don’t fear the receiver of a message; it’s the sender we should dread.”
Pharaoh couldn't fathom the audacity and boldness with which Moses confronted him. He was even more confused when he was told the name of the sender of the message. He did not know how powerful the God of Israel was, so he misbehaved and refused to let the Israelites go until he and his people suffered greatly.
As a child of God, you have been called to be a true representative of your heavenly Father here on earth, but the question is, do you know your true identity? Are you still a slave to sin, fear, and problems that make you susceptible to the enemy's attacks?

MESSAGE:
From today's memory verse, we see that the work in God's kingdom is much, while the labourers to execute it are few. This shows that although millions of potential vessels are available to fulfil God’s mandate of soul-winning, only a few are qualified. The vessel God would use must meet the condition of holiness. He or she must be honourable, dedicated, and available to God.
Anytime I see a young person handling God's work without seriousness, I wonder if the fellow understands the nature of the service God is calling him or her to. Are you a worker in your church or school fellowship, and you’re hardly ever in church or often absent from departmental meetings? Then, you are only occupying space because, by the time God raises other vessels, you will become irrelevant. May

MESSAGE:
When people say, “When in Rome, be (behave, dress, eat) like the Romans,” it is true to an extent. However, this saying should be examined within the context of matters relating to the kingdom of God. There was a time when we were evangelising in the northern part of Nigeria, and the Holy Spirit told us to put on ‘Babariga’ (a flowing attire worn by northern men) with caps while our sisters wrapped their heads with turban scarves. The people gladly accepted the message of Christ because we dressed like them. However, if we go to hotels and clubhouses for evangelism, do you think the people would listen to Pastor Adeboye if he is dressed in crazy jeans and is wearing tinted hair? Would they respect my wife if they saw her wearing a skimpy skirt, long artificial hair, and heavy makeup?
My dear child, the world knows those who belong to Jesus by the way they dress. You may say that God sees your heart, but human beings judge the state of your heart by your appearance. Some of them wish that they had the discipline to embrace Christian dressing, but it becomes more difficult for them when they see you copying them.

REFLECTION
Does your dressing show that you have truly surrendered all to Jesus?

MESSAGE:
Fasting is one of the pillars of the Christian faith. It is more than mere abstinence from food and drink; it is abstinence from things (the pleasures of life) that would normally deprive you of your time with God. Fasting and prayer go together.
Joel 1:14 implores us to fast. Fasting has many benefits: it helps to put down the flesh and give your inner man strength, it helps to develop your faith, it makes your prayer life effective and efficient, it helps to open your heart to easily receive guidance from God, et cetera.
To get extraordinary help, you must do extraordinary things. Jehoshaphat proclaimed a fast in order to stand against the numerous armies that besieged him (2 Chronicles 20:3-17). David also fasted to seek God’s mercy (2 Samuel 12:16). Therefore, I implore you to set a day aside every week to fast and pray. Remember that fasting is sacred and must be done with a repentant heart. Also, do not fast with a sad countenance on your face to show that you are observing a fast.

ACTION POINT
Set a day aside every week for fasting henceforth and do it judiciously.

MESSAGE:
Jotham was 25 years old when he began to reign, and he ruled Jerusalem for 16 years. Jotham was considered a good king because he did what was right in the eyes of God. He recognised the importance of serving God from observing his father. Therefore, throughout the course of his life, he sought the Lord, and God blessed him tremendously for being faithful to Him.
Some teenagers do not choose their fathers or mothers as role models because their lives are not worthy of emulation. On the other hand, many teenagers have parents who live uprightly and who are mentors to other children, but they’d rather not follow their lifestyles. This was the case with Prophet Eli’s children in 1 Samuel 3; they didn’t emulate the lifestyle of their father, and they ended up badly. If you have godly parents or guardians

*MESSAGE:*
The fight of faith is the conflict between our temporary earthly circumstances and our spiritual realities. It is not a fight with the devil; rather, it is a fight which takes place in your heart. Apostle Paul calls it a good fight which every Christian must win. To win this fight, you must hold on to God’s word and maintain your confessions in the face of strong opposition.

I want you to know that you have an adversary whom the Bible calls ‘the prince of this world.’ He controls many activities in the world and causes people to be hostile towards God and matters pertaining to the heavenly kingdom. However, Jesus assured us in John 16:33 that He has given us victory: “…In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”

Beloved, for you to walk in this victory, you must remain on the Lord’s side. It is only from this vantage point that you will fight the good fight of faith effectively and finish your race gloriously. Luke 10:19 says, “Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

I had a friend at the university who continued in sin while I chose to give my life to Christ. One of his worst habits was smoking; he used to smoke about ten cigarette sticks every day, not minding the health risks. One day, while having a conversation with him, he asked me to show him where God said, “Thou shall not smoke” in the Bible. Instead of getting into an argument with him, I asked the Holy Spirit to give me the right Scripture, and I was led to the story of David and Goliath in 1 Samuel 17. MESSAGE:
Tests are designed by God to prove our faith in Him and love for Him, while temptations come from the devil and our flesh to draw us into sin. Your response to temptations will show whether you choose God above the devil or otherwise.
When Adam and Eve fell into temptation, they almost disrupted God’s plan for mankind. Also, when Gehazi fell, his whole lineage inherited leprosy. However, when Jesus overcame temptations, it marked the beginning of redemption for the human race. Tests are not punishments but stepping stones to promotion, allowing God to know your commitment to Him, strength for His work, and appetite for worldly things.
God has promised that He will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you can handle; this means that you are still the major determinant of your victory. Some Christians willingly fall into temptations because they have been nursing sinful thoughts in their hearts. Beloved, you have the power to overcome your tests and temptations. Ask God to fortify your mind and strengthen your convictions.

When I gave my life to Christ in 1973, many preachers advised their congregations to stop acquiring material resources or academic degrees because they presumed that they would be a waste as the second coming of Jesus was imminent. Consequently, many students dropped out of school, and some people sold their properties. They focused on building their spiritual lives and winning more souls, but people like me chose to pursue academic excellence in order to stay relevant on the earth while storing up treasures in heaven as well.
Many of those who believed Jesus would come over 40 years ago are no longer alive. Some of us are still looking forward to the rapture when the angels will sound the trumpet, and Jesus will take us home. I do not pray that you die young, but whether He comes by rapture or through an encounter with death, my dear child, please ensure that you are prepared for the second coming of the Lord.

MESSAGE:
Teenager's face different challenges that may make them doubt the existence of God or His response to their needs. However, I will emphasize that God is faithful, and He never fails His children who put their trust in Him.
I remember when God told me to leave my job as a senior lecturer at the university to go into full-time ministry. At that time, pastoring was unpopular because the few pastors that we knew then were poor and uneducated. It was a new terrain that I never envisaged for myself at all, but my Commander-inChief told me to dive in! At that time, my salary was more than the entire income of the Redeemed Christian Church of God. After I realized that there would be no more income to sustain myself and my family, I cried bitterly, but God told me to trust Him because He was my new Employer, and He would not let me suffer. All He expected of me was to place my complete trust in Him. By His special grace, I have trusted Him, I am still trusting Him, and He has never failed me.
My dear child, no matter what you are going through, please don’t shift your gaze from God. Commit your ways to Him and trust Him to make all things beautiful for you in His time.
