At one point during the Homily on the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Jesus Christ, Fr. Peter asked: “Why are you a Catholic?”

What’s your answer?

Own your Faith!

Open your heart and encounter Jesus fully in the Eucharist.

Excepts from today Homily of Fr. Peter on the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Jesus Christ.

We fail to receive the full power of the Holy Eucharist because we are not truly open and available to God. We attend Mass, pray the Rosary, and adore the Blessed Sacrament, yet our hearts often remain closed. The Lord who created us without our consent will not save us without our cooperation.

The Holy Eucharist is the greatest prayer and the very heart of our Faith. Here we receive the Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of Jesus Christ. Many of us have lost the sense of the sacred because we doubt His Real Presence in the Blessed Sacrament.

At every Mass, Christ Himself is the Priest, the Altar, and the Lamb. The Mass is Christocentric - it does not depend on the holiness of the priest. We are only custodians of this sacred mystery.

The greatest danger of the Catholic faith today is the loss of faith in the Eucharist. This is why many wander restlessly from place to place.

As Catholics, we must take responsibility: sustain our Tradition, protect and defend the Church, and truly own our Faith. Don’t be a nominal Catholic - belong to a society, support your priests, and be fully committed.

Own your Faith! Open your heart, believe in the Real Presence, and encounter Jesus fully in the Eucharist.

Today we celebrated the Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity, the great mystery of One God in Three Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Fr Lawrence reminded us that only Christianity reveals God as Trinity. The Bible bears clear witness to this truth, from Genesis to the baptism of Jesus and the Great Commission.

Though the mystery is beyond full human understanding, God has revealed Himself throughout history as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. One simple analogy is water, which exists as ice, liquid and steam, yet remains the same.

Above all, the Trinity calls us to live in communion, harmony and unity. At the heart of the Trinity is love. We are invited to love one another, to value every person created in God’s image, and to embrace diversity while remaining united.

Let us make the Sign of the Cross with renewed faith and ask the Holy Trinity to help us work in unity, respect our differences, and love as God loves us.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Always beautiful to hear the ancient language of the Church! 🙏✨

Especially on this great solemnity of Pentecost, as we celebrate the coming of the Holy Spirit.

Here is a beautiful rendition of the Pentecost Sequence — Veni Sancte Spiritus by the St. Gregory the Great Choir of St Cyril Catholic Church.

Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful! 🔥❤️

Happy Feast of Pentecost! 🎉

Excerpts from the Homily of Fr. Emmanuel Chinonso with the theme:

Come Holy Spirit, Renew the Face of the Earth! 🔥🙏

The Apostles were locked in fear, but they obeyed Jesus and waited in prayer. Then the Holy Spirit came like fire - and everything changed! Fear turned to courage, division to unity.

Pentecost is not history - it’s happening today!

The same Spirit that reversed the confusion of Babel now calls us to speak the greatest language: Love ❤️

Let this fire purify us, empower us, and make us new.

Come Holy Spirit!

Renew our hearts… renew our families… renew our land. And let the renewal begin with me and you.

Happy Pentecost! 🔥✨

Prayer Beautifies Our Lives ✨

From Fr. Augustine’s homily for the 7th Sunday of Easter:

Fr. Augustine explained this using St. Thomas Aquinas’ three conditions of beauty from the Summa Theologiae. For anything to be truly beautiful, it must have:

Integritas – Wholeness and Completeness
Our prayer makes us whole. It restores what is broken and brings us into one piece before God.

Consonantia – Harmony and Proportion
A beautiful prayer life brings harmony between us and God, and between us and one another. It orders our hearts rightly.

Claritas – Radiance and Clarity
True prayer makes our inner light shine. It reveals who we really are in Christ, so that God’s glory can be seen through us.

May our prayer lives this week reflect these qualities and make us radiant, even in our weakness.

Prayer beautifies our lives! 🙏

Excerpts from the Homily of our Associate Parish Priest - Rev. Fr. Augustine at the Ascension Thursday Mass.

The Ascension of Jesus does not mean He has left us. He did not abandon us as orphans - He remains with us until the end of time. Our hope is not bound by earthly limits, but anchored in the same power of God that raised Christ from the dead.

As St. Augustine beautifully teaches, the Ascension lifts our hearts and minds to heaven - to where Christ now reigns with all power and authority. Because of this, we have a clear mandate: to go and evangelize, to live for His glory.

Let our hope always look upward.

May every power, influence, and gift we possess be directed toward Christ alone.

“Heaven is our home. Christ is our King. Go and make disciples.”

Happy Ascension Thursday! 🙏✨

Today is the feast of the Solemnity of the Ascension of Christ into Heaven.

The Solemnity of the Ascension of the Lord is the feast where Catholics celebrate the moment Jesus Christ, after His Resurrection, ascended into Heaven in the presence of His disciples, forty days after Easter. Before ascending, He blessed them and commanded them to continue His mission of preaching the Gospel to the whole world. The Ascension reminds Christians that Jesus is seated in glory with the Father and prepares a place for believers in Heaven.

The feast is a Holy Day of Obligation in Catholic Church because it celebrates one of the most important mysteries of the our faith ( *Christ’s victory over death and His return to the Father* ). The Catholic Church asks the faithful to attend Mass on this day to honor Jesus, receive spiritual grace, and publicly profess their faith together as one Church.

*Missing Mass on this solemn feast without a serious reason is considered neglecting an important duty to God and the Church.*

*Bible references*
Acts of the Apostles 1:9–11

And when he had said these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.
And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel;
Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven

Happy feast Day

🌿 Jubilee Year of Saint Francis of Assisi 🌿

We rejoice with the Universal Church as Pope Leo XIV has proclaimed a special Jubilee Year of Saint Francis of Assisi, from January 10, 2026 to January 10, 2027, in celebration of the 800th anniversary of the Saint’s passing (October 3, 1226).

This Jubilee Year calls us to spiritual renewal, peace, and the living of Franciscan charisms. It also offers plenary indulgences for pilgrims who visit Franciscan sites.

The Archdiocese of Lagos has officially inaugurated this special Jubilee, and our Parish was fully part of this beautiful moment.

May the virtues of Saint Francis - joy, peace, simplicity, and care for creation - always guide our steps and shine through our lives.
Let us embrace this grace-filled year with open hearts!
