METHODIST REFLECTION FOR TODAY
TUESDAY 23RD NOVEMBER, 2021
THEME: CAST YOUR CARES ON GOD
PASSAGE: 1PETER 5:6-11
MEMORY VERSE: 1Peter 5:7 "Cast all your anxieties on Him, for He cares about you.”
Read - Day: 2 Peter 2-3; Night: Ezk 10-12
Life can become unpleasant and even scary sometimes. At such a time, nobody cares! But the Bible says there is One who cares. The Almighty God, who commanded His Love towards us, in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us (Romans 5:8).
In today's passage, Apostle Peter urges us to cast all our cares on God. This verse has link with Psalm 55:22, which states “Cast your burden upon the Lord and He shall sustain thee. He shall never suffer the righteous to be moved”. The writer did not specify one particular burden but he said “all”. This shows that God is All-sufficient, All-powerful, All-knowing and All-wise One.
Jesus also reminds us in Matthew 7:9-11, that if the earthly fathers know how to give good gifts to their children, surely, our Father in heaven will take care of all our wishes and our needs. When you cast your cares on God you should not be careless for your life. Stop tempting God in the name of casting your cares on Him. Take care of your health, and drive safely on the road. Don't drink when you drive. Have all your vehicle particulars up to date. Obey the police and all the traffic laws.
Beloved, what do you need from God? Is it money, fruit of the womb, good health, Joy and peace? All these are with God. What you need is to be strong in the midst of challenges and troubles. Cast your cares on Him; He will not disappoint you. When we cast our cares on God, we must believe that He is abundantly able to provide solutions to them (Mk 11:23-24). Make sure, too, that your actions are right with God. Be holy as He is holy and do nothing that Satan can use to accuse you before God.

PRAYER: My Father in heaven, my life is in Your hands; take away my worries and give me eternal joy, in Jesus' name. Amen.
