The Church
Matthew 16:18
Declaration
I am the church of Christ. I am founded upon the Rock. No gates of hell prevails against me
The church has many things but we will address four;
1. The church is a family and every family has it's characteristics, one of which is unity and uniformity. Another character is that they are of the same tribe. Another characteristic is that they have a common goal, making sure they don't leave the family the same way they met it. Another characteristic is hierarchy and order
2. The church is the bride of Christ. Matthew 21:42-44. The church is likened to a rock. The church is dangerous. The church is protected. The church is cared for
3. The church is the world's only hope. Wherever the church goes, life and light comes. light brightens and beautifies and we are to add color to the world
4. The church preserves.
5. The church is a mystery. Those who opposed the church end up preaching it
6. The church is the mother of modern civilization, invention and secular education
