I can't seem to fathom how 'SOME Rangers' cannot uphold the principles of Royal Rangers. As a Royal Ranger years ago, our Rangers Motto was ready to SERVE, PLAY, WORSHIP, LIVE, and OBEY GOD'S WORD.
READY TO WORK: Prepared for tasks and service.
READY TO PLAY: Prepared for activities and fellowship.
READY TO SERVE: Prepared to assist others.
READY TO WORSHIP: Prepared to honor God.
READY TO LIVE: Prepared for life’s challenges.
READY TO OBEY GOD'S WORD: Prepared to follow biblical principles.
I remember also, that we used to recite:
"...to live by the rangers code, to make the golden rule my DAILY rule" (I can't remember the first part of this)
The Golden Rule:
"In everything, do to others what you would have them do to you.” (Matthew 7:12)
Our song then was:
We are Assemblies of God Royal Rangers,
we stand for Christ alone.
We are sure, we are sure, that Jesus must return.
We are sure, we are sure, that heaven is our home/goal.
We are Assemblies of God Royal Rangers, we stand for Christ alone.
We also had the Four Cardinal Points of Royal Rangers (Also regarded as the RED POINTS), which are:
1. Salvation
2. Baptism in the Holy Spirit
3. Divine Healing
4. The Second Coming of Christ
We had the Four GOLD Points, that help boys grow:
1. Mentally
2. Physically
3. Spiritually
4. Socially
"And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man." (Luke 2:52)
We had the Eight BLUE Points:
1. Alert
2. Clean
3. Courageous
4. Loyal
5. Courteous
6. Obedient
7. Honest
8. Spiritual
The GOLD, RED, and BLUE Points actually can be seen clearly depicted on the Royal Rangers Logo/Badge. Today, some just wear these very hallowed emblems but do not really know the deepened and highly spiritually significant weight it carries.
I remember how these carefully taught principles formed the crucibles on which I stand today.
May God help us never to lose sight of the big picture which is always living a life that is Christ-centered.
I am grateful to our then Lagos District Commandant, Rev. Isaac Irolewe (Who was a no nonsense man), our Sectional Commandant, Commander Iruka Anyigor (now a Military Officer in the Nigerian Army), and our Commandants at our church then, AG Shomolu Eluwa Moses , Rev. Ayo Oloruntoba (now a Presbyter in AG Ikorodu District), Festus Osagie , Mike Chinedu Okediachi , Godwin Robinson. I sincerely appreciate you all for doing a great work grooming us as young boys then. God bless you all immensely.
I am Reverend Victor Agianpuye (a Pastor's Son) and I love my church because there's great emphasis on the principles of discipline anchored on the Word of God. Always remember one case doesn't define all. Long live AG.
NB: A message by our Senior Pastor, Rev. Victor Agianpuye
