Lesson: Proverbs 2 : 1 - 15
Title: *Wisdom That Reveals The Knowledge Of Christ*

MEDITATION
That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him.
~ Ephesians 1 : 17

INSPIRATION
When wisdom entereth into thine heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto Thy soul;
Discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee.
~ Proverbs 2 : 10 - 11

WORDS ARISING
God alone gives true wisdom, in His Word is found true knowledge and understanding (Pr 2:6); when we allow the Word of God to enter and dwell richly in our hearts, the knowledge it brings becomes pleasant to our soul, giving us discretion and understanding to live right (Pr 2:10-11). And, we are delivered from the way of the evil man, Satan, who speak lies and rebellion (Pr 2:12); who seek to lead us from the paths of uprightness into the ways of darkness (Pr 2:13); who rejoice in doing evil and delight in wickedness (Pr 2:14); whose ways are crooked and paths wayward (Pr 2:15). Glory to God Who has made Jesus Christ our wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption; that we may glory in Him (1 Cor 1:30). Trust in the Lord and in His Word with your whole heart, and lean not unto your own understanding (Pr 3:5); believe and surrender your life to the Lord Jesus Christ today, and receive the spirit of wisdom and revelation that would make you know Him better; that you may enjoy the riches of His glory and inheritance, and the exceeding greatness of His power (Eph 1:17-19).

PRAYER
Father, increase me in wisdom and in the knowledge of Your Word that I may be established in Your righteousness, power, and blessing, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen!

Lesson: John 4 : 23 - 24
Title: *Be Led By The Spirit Of God*

MEDITATION
For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
~ Romans 8 : 14

INSPIRATION
God is a Spirit: and they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth.
~ John 4 : 24

WORDS ARISING
"The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He hath anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He hath sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised. To preach the acceptable year of the Lord" (Lk 4:18-19), Jesus declared as the mission statement for His earth ministry. Jesus came as the second Adam to deliver man from spiritual dead that the first Adam put man into by his fall into sin (Gen 3:3), and to live exemplary true spiritual life for our learning (1 Cor 15:45-47). Jesus came to show us how to fellowship and relate with the Father in heaven Who is a Spirit (Jn 4:24). As a man led by the Spirit of God we can see through the four books of the gospel how Jesus lived a life that was never limited by circumstances: He lived above wants, sickness, anxiety, and all the things that trouble other men's heart, not because He was too rich to care; but because the Spirit gave Him faith enough to keep in total control every fleshly desire (Mt 4:2-10). Jesus is a perfect example to us all that as children of God, if we walk in the Spirit we would not fulfil the desires of the flesh (Gal 5:16); it is the spirit that makes us alive, the flesh profit nothing before God (Jn 6:63). To live in the flesh is to be spiritually dead, which condition we were condemned until Jesus redeemed us (Rom 8:1-2). Be a true child of God today, believe in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour, and be sealed by the Holy Spirit (Eph 1:13).

PRAYER
Lord God Almighty our Father, by Your good Spirit lead me into the land of uprightness in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord (Ps 143:10).
Amen!

Lesson: Jonah 4: 1 - 11
Title: *God Is Love*

MEDITATION
He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
~ 1 John 4 : 8

INSPIRATION
But it displeased Jonah exceedingly, and he was very angry.
And he prayed unto the Lord, and said, I pray Thee O Lord, was not this my saying, when I was yet in my country? Therefore I fled before unto Tarshish: for I knew that Thou art a gracious God, and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repentest Thee of the evil.
~ Jonah 4 : 1 - 2

WORDS ARISING
Jonah should have been happy that he was sent on a mission by a God Who was gracious, merciful, slow to anger, kind, and longsuffering; but these were the very qualities of God that made him flee instead of going on the mission (Jon 1:3). Jonah was a prophet of God, useful enough that God resolved to use him and no other to deliver His message to the Ninevites (Jon 1:2, 3:1-2). But Jonah was a natural man, and a natural man does not really know God (1 Cor 2:14); the nature of God which is love, righteousness, and eternal life in Christ Jesus was not in Jonah (Mt 12:41). Jonah's knowledge of God was limited enough for him to think of running away from God; he thought of God as one Whose love and presence was exclusively for the Israelites only (Jon 1:9). So, he was very angry to the point of wishing himself death when the Ninevites repented because of his message, and God showed them mercy (Jon 4:3). Jonah had conveniently forgotten that God was gracious, merciful, patient, kind, and longsuffering toward him in his own disobedience and rebellion ( Jon 1:3, 2:2). Like Jonah we have judged and condemned others as deserving of no mercy whereas we have been guilty of same offence and expect God's mercy (Rom 2:1). A heart that do not truly know God cannot love, and without true love it is difficult to be merciful; because, as it is written, love covers multitude of sins (1 Pet 4:8).

PRAYER
Father, put away from me the heart of bitterness, wrath, anger, strife, evil speaking, and malice. By the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus cause me to love, be kind and tender hearted to my fellow men in Jesus mighty name.
Amen!

Lesson: Ruth 1 : 1 - 5
Title: *Be Patient In Affliction 3*

MEDITATION
But the God of all grace, Who hath called us unto His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.
1 Peter 5 : 10

INSPIRATION
And they took them wives of the women of Moab; the name of the one was Orpah, and the name of the other Ruth: and they dwelled there about ten years.
And Mahlon and Chilion died also both of them; and the woman was left of her two sons and her husband.
~ Ruth 1 : 4 - 5

WORDS ARISING
"The memory of the just is blessed: but the name of the wicked shall rot" (Pr 10:7), this may be the testimonial for Mahlon and Chilion. Not much is written about them in the Book of Ruth than that they were the sons their father Ebimelech took along with their mother Noami while leaving the land of Israel to the heathen kingdom of Moab because of famine (Ru 1:2). They each married a Moabite woman, Ruth and Orpah, and died not long afterward; their father had died earlier (Ru 1:3,5). The brothers had certainly looked forward to a good future while sojourning in the foreign land but, "Who can tell a man what shall be after him under the sun?" (Ec 6:2). Mahlon and Chilion may be seen as victims of circumstances beyond their control: they had no choice than to obey their parents' decisions. Sometimes we are forced by circumstances to be in places, relationship, or commitment that may not be of our own making; but we should ponder carefully in such situation not to wander out of the way of God into the path of the wicked (Pr 4:26, 21:16). The memory of Mahlon and Chilion is forever blessed in remembrance by the testimonies of Ruth, David, and our Lord Jesus Christ (Ru 4:17, Mt 1:5,17).

PRAYER
Father, the depth of the riches of Your wisdom and knowledge is beyond man's understanding; how unsearchable are Your judgement, and Your ways past finding out! Man that is born of a woman is of few days and full of trouble; let not my expectation of Your goodness, mercy, and blessing be cut off, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ (Rom 11:33, Job 14:1, Pr 24:18).

Amen!

Lesson: Ruth 1 : 6 - 15
Title: *Be Patient In Affliction 2*

MEDITATION
If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small.
~ Proverbs 24 : 10

INSPIRATION
And they lifted up their voice, and wept again: and Orpah kissed her mother in law; but Ruth clave to her.
And she said, Behold thy sister in law is gone back unto her people, and unto her gods: return thou after thy sister in law.
~ Ruth 1 : 14 - 15

WORDS ARISING
"Buy the truth, and sell it not" (Pr 23:23), the Holy Scripture had admonished; it is a costly mistake to trade off what is good for anything less. Orpah and Ruth, the Moabite daughters in law of Ebimelech and Noami, were both likely married into the family at the same time (Ru 1:4). They had the same opportunity to have learnt about Noami's God, land, and people. Orpah, like Ruth, did likely learn from her husband and inlaws that the God of Israel was the Creator of heaven and earth. She must have heard how this God delivered the Israelites from mighty Egypt and led them to the land He had promised their fathers with many signs and wonders, and conquest of other nations and their gods (Jos 24:3-8). But she could still, with a goodbye kiss after some discouraging words from Noami, turn her back on the same God and return to her heathen land and idols; cutting short a great and divine destiny that first connected her to Noami and her family. Orpah is today left out of the record God's family as fulfilled in Christ Jesus, because she stepped out of God's will. It is only when we stay and endure in the will of God that His enduring blessings find bearing in us (Jas 2:17).

PRAYER POINT
Lord, teach me to walk by faith and not by sight, that I may learn to sow and reap without observing the wind or regarding the cloud. Let me know you more and more that I may put my trust wholly on You (Ps 9:10, Ec 11:4, 2Cor 5:7)

Amen!

Lesson: Ruth 1 : 1 - 5
Title: *Be Patient In Affliction 1*

MEDITATION
But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.
~ James 1 : 4

INSPIRATION
Now it came to pass in the days when the judges ruled, that there was a famine in the land. And a certain man of Bethlehemjudah went to sojourn in the country of Moab, he, and his wife, and his two sons.
~ Ruth 1 : 1

WORDS ARISING
The classic story in the Book of Ruth is most often made to centre around the Moabitess Ruth and her beloved mother-in-law, Naomi; but at the root of the story is a man called Ebimelech, Noami's husband and Ruth's father-in-law (Ru 1:2). Faced with the challenge of hardship as a result of famine in his homeland Bethlehem in Israel, Ebimelech had taken his wife, his two sons Mahlon and Chilon, and had migrated to the heathen kingdom of Moab; abandoning the land of his people and God (Ge 17:1). Not long after this, Ebimelech was befallen with his worst fears: himself and his two sons died in the land of Moab, leaving behind his wife and two daughters-in-law as poor stranded widows (Ru 1:3-5). God do not want us to run away from challenges, but to face and conquer them; thereby is the power of God made manifest before the enemy, and His name glorified (Dt 20:1, Ro 8:35-37, 1 Jn 5:4, Re 4:11). If only Ebimelech had learnt to trust his God, be patient in affliction, rejoicing his heart in hope for better days to come! (Ro 12:12).

PRAYER POINT
Ask that the God of all grace, Who has called you unto His eternal glory by Christ Jesus would, after you have suffered a while, make you perfect, establish you, strengthen you, and settle you (1 Pe 5:10).

Amen!

Lesson: 1 Samuel 17 : 32 - 37
Title : *With God We Are More Than Conquerors*

MEDITATION
David said moreover, The LORD that delivered me out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, He will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine. And Saul said unto David, Go, and the LORD be with thee.
~ I Samuel 17 : 37

INSPIRATION
When thou goest out to battle against thine enemies, and seest horses, and chariots, and a people more than thou, be not afraid of them: for the Lord thy God is with thee, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.
~ Deuteronomy 20 : 1

WORDS ARISING
David must have had this scripture (Dt 20:1) in mind when he offered to confront Goliath the Giant (1 Sa 17:32), who King Saul and the entire Army of Israel were sore afraid to stand against (1 Sa 17:10-11). David knew that the battle was not his, but the Lord's whose glory the uncircumcised Philistine was defying (2 Ch 20:15, 1 Sa 17:36). With a confidence that could only be made possible by unalloyed faith in God, David went into battle with Goliath wielding a shepherd's bag with stones and sling (1 Sa 17:40), while his over nine footed Philistine opponent was well armed with sword, spear, and shield (1 Sa 17:4-7). Yet, it took a stone from David's sling directed by the power of God to destroy the mighty Goliath, and put an end to the reproach against God's people (1 Sa 17:49-50). What is the battle that is facing you, challenging, taunting, and defying the glory of God in your life today? "Tribulation, or distress, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?" In all these things you are more than conqueror through Christ that loved and laid His life for you (Rom 8:35,37).

PRAYER POINT
Acknowledge the Lord God Almighty as your refuge and strength, your High Tower, and the Lifter up of your head, Who has not given you the Spirit of fear, but of adoption whereby you can call upon Him in time of trouble. You will not be afraid of your enemies.
Amen.

Lesson: Ephesians 6 : 1 - 3
Title: *Honour To The Fathers, Glory To The Children*

MEDITATION
Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.
Honour thy father and mother; which is the first commandment with a promise;
That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.
~ Ephesians 6 : 1 - 3

INSPIRATION
Children's children are the crown of old men; and the glory of children are their fathers.
~ Proverbs 17 : 6

WORDS ARISING
When God commanded that we honour our fathers and mothers so that it might be well with us in our destiny journey (Ex 20:12), God was talking to us all as children; and He intended that we teach the commandment to generations of children to come (Dt 11:19), because when we as fathers and mothers train up the children in the way they should go, as they grow up they will not depart from it (Pr 22:6): they will do likewise in training up their own children. But, why does God wants children to honour their father? Because the glory of the children are their fathers (Pr 17:6): a child is regarded and favoured according to the reputation of his fathers (Pr 20:7). We are blessed to have a role model in our Maker, God Almighty the Father of all, Who is above all, and through all, and in us all (Ep 4:6); and by faith in Christ Jesus our Lord and Saviour, we are all His children ( Ga 3:26). Do not be left out!

PRAYER POINT
As a father, mother, or child, ask God for grace to live in obedience to His Word so that you would honour Him, and He would glorify His name in your life.
Amen!

Lesson: Mark 5 : 1 - 14
Title: *Demons And The Swine*

MEDITATION
And all the devils besought Him, saying, Send us into the swine, that we may enter into them.
And forthwith Jesus gave them leave. And the unclean spirits went out, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the sea, (they were about two thousand;) and were choked in the sea.
~ Mark 5 : 12 - 13

INSPIRATION
And the swine, though he divide the hoof, and be cloven footed, yet he cheweth not the cud; he is unclean to you.
~ Leviticus 11 : 7

WORDS ARISING
"Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil" (Eph 6:11), we are warned by the Scriptures, "Because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about seeking whom he may devour" (1 Pe 5:8). And, in seeking whom he may devour we can learn how the devil goes about it from the story of the demoniac that was healed. When Jesus met this demon possessed man who ran to Him to be saved, the demons which called themselves 'Legion' because they were many prayed Jesus not to send them away to the abyss (Mk 5:10); they had already pleaded by God that they be not tormented as it was not yet time for their judgement (Mk 5:7). The devils asked that they be sent into the swine (pigs) that were nearby, and Jesus allowed them do as they wanted (Mk 5:12-13). We can see here that the devil can claim his right before God: he cannot be destroyed before his time, and he has a right to possess his possession. While sheep and goats were accepted before the altar of God, swine were not as they were unclean (Lev 11:7-8); the sheep are the children of God led by His Spirit (Rom 8:14), the goats are those carnally struggling to be children of God (Mt 25:32), while the swine are children of the devil (Mt 7:6). Demons has right over swine (Mk 5:12), and can easily steal, kill, and destroy among the goats (Jn 10:10); but he is powerless before the sheep, for the sheep know the voice of the Good Shepherd, and will not follow after strangers (Jn 10:5). In Christ alone is no one condemned (Rom 8:1), reason the demoniac who was possessed like the swine ran to Him and was saved. Come to Jesus today and be saved

PRAYER
Remember, we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but principalities, powers, rulers of the darkness of this world, spiritual wickedness in high places (Eph 6:12). Pray never to be counted among swine before God, an easy prey for the enemy; but as sheep in the hand of the Good Shepherd.
Amen!

Lesson: Romans 12 : 16 - 21
Title ~ *Follow Peace With All Men*

MEDITATION
Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men.
If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.
~ Romans 12 : 17 - 18

INSPIRATION
Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.
~ Psalm 34 : 14

WORDS ARISING
It is to the ultimate benefit of man that he is told to "seek peace, and pursue it" with his fellow men (Ps 34:14). This is because God will always use men to do His will towards men; reason He came down Himself, in the person of His Word, to live as Man in order to perfect His work of salvation for mankind (Jn 1:1). A good future awaits those who seek peace because they stand blameless and upright before God Who is able to cause even their enemies to make peace in their borders, and to fill them with blessings (Ps147:14). Sometimes we allow the cares of this world to affect the peace between us and our fellow men; we cheat, we betray, we slander one another, giving no chance for peace, quietness, rest, but only trouble to our souls (Job 3:26). Yet, the Kingdom of God is not about meat and drink, but righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost (Rom 14:17). Those who sow peace reap righteousness, and the righteous shall be glad (Pr 10:18), because our Lord Jesus Christ said, "Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God" (Ma 5:9). And, as children of God they are raised up together and made to sit in heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that He might show them the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness (Eph 2:6-7). What a blessing! Be a peacemaker today; overcome evil with good.

PRAYER POINT
Ask for grace to follow peace with everyone God brings into your life, not minding the situation or circumstance that connects you. Remember that, "All things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose" (Romans 8:28). And, since God's purpose is for man to live peaceably one with another, your labour of peace will surely bring forth good harvest in Jesus mighty name.
Amen!
