SONGS IN THE NIGHT TIME
Do you desire songs in the night time? Do you need a hand to lift you from the miry clay? Have you ever experienced a night time? Are you going through a night time now?. You may call it "Tough Times" but I choose the bible word. " Night" I have been there and I know what it feels like...
Night time is a period in life when the weight of difficulties on a man's shoulder is so heavy to the point of crushing him and there is no place to turn for solace. .. When there are too many questions bothering on pain and sorrow and no voice offering answers... When you are like a woman in travail at a birth-place with no strength to push forth her baby.. Hm!. When a man losses two of his relatives to a particular sickness, another is down with the same symptoms and his own health is directly or indirectly threatened,. It is a night time!
When you are like , surrounded by a thick cloud with no way leading to anywhere; You are explaining but nobody is understanding and you sinking gradually... Those who care have no power to help; those who do not care laugh, mock and ridicule you. .
Night time; a period of pain, anguish, torture, hopelessness, betrayal, loneliness and shattered dreams. It could be in matters of health, business, career, marriage, relationship or other areas of life. .. When all you do is; Cry! Cry!! and Cry!! But who cares? Nobody understands what you are going through and no one has any soft word for you. That is the night time I am talking about. It is very important to note that every child of God must experience It at one time or the other as we journey through life. Wealth, wisdom or anointing does take it away. But thanks to the Almighty God who never allows us to be tempted beyond what we can bear.
If you are a child of God.. If He is your Lord and personal saviour...If you have surrendered your life to Him, you will see His salvation. . He will come through for you when you are in a night time situation. Be confident in His love and faithfulness.
He says;
" See, I have inscribed you on the palms of my hands and your walls are continually before me" (Isaiah 49:16) Do you believe?.
" By reason of the multitude of oppression, they make the oppressed cry: they cry out by reason of the arm of the mighty.
But none saith, Where is the Lord my maker who giveth songs in the night."( Job 35:9-10).

When the oppressive hand of ugly situations and circumstances of life is like the storm beating against a wall, our Almighty God gives songs. He gives solutions, healings, miracles, restorations , recoveries and pleasant surprises. He neither fails nor disappoints His own. He watches and says;
" Can a woman forget her sucking child that she should have no compassion on the son of her womb? Yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee" (Isaiah 49 : 15).
Complaining and lamenting will not see you through the night times of life. Fixing blames, regretting your background and bemoaning your past mistakes cannot get you out of it. It will only make you to be like the generation of the Israelites, who did not enter the promised land because they doubted and murmured against God. Go to Him, recognising that you need His help. Yeild your heart to Him in total submission, with confidence in His infinite love and faithfulness. Thank Him for everything that has happened, then pray with a broken heart. Cry to Him, as Peter and the other disciples did when their boat was sinking... ( Luke 8:23-24).
When king Nebuchadnezzar was torturing Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, he boasted saying " ...who is that God that can deliver you out of my hands"(Daniel 3:15). Because they knew and trusted God, they replied him " ...if it be so, our God whom we serve is able" (Daniel 3 : 17). You can say the same words to every challenge and oppressor of your life and destiny, for our God is indeed able to deliver those who trust in Him.
" This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.
And if He hears us--- whatever we ask--we know that we have what we ask of Him.( 1st John 5: 14-15).
Praise God! You have It !!. Our God whom we serve gives songs in the night time.
" We are not of them who draw back and are destroyed but of them who through faith and perseverance obtain the promise" ( Hebrew 10: 39)
Remember Christ's love is stronger than a mother's love. It is beyond knowledge and description.(Ephesians 3 : 19). God bless you..

Are you too busy to pray? Often we stand on the urgency and importance of the work and neglect the energy gained in the place of intimacy with our heavenly father. Are you aware that when we reduce the intensity of our prayers, we unconsciously arm the devil against our work. Without prayer nothing of value can be achieved in the kingdom because it shuts God out. Please in the name of Jesus Christ our lord, PRAY WITHOUT CEASING (1st Thessalonians 5:7)

POWER:A GAME OF LIFE

"Behold I give you power to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy and nothing shall by any means Hurt you" (Luke 10:19)

Power is having authority or controlling influence on people or things. It is the ability to change the course of, or be the cause of events. It can be through mental dexterity or supernatural manifestations. Power can be used positively to bring joy and happiness and it can be abused or used negatively to bring pain, torture, anguish, betrayal and hopelessness to humanity.
All over the world we see what powerful nations and kingdoms are doing to the weaker ones: they victimize, colonize and exploit them politically, economically, socially and otherwise. Their superior skills in science,, technology and military might give them edge over weaker notions whom they exploit and grow bigger and more powerful. It is like the animal kingdom where the powerful controls, equals negotiate and the weak submit.
We see the same power game playing out everywhere; in the market, academic and corporate world, villages, towns, political, social and cultural space.. As it is in the physical so it is in the spiritual world. We talk of household wickedness, environmental power, evil spiritual gate-keepers etc. The bible talk of strongholds, principalities and power,, spiritual wickedness and the rulers of darkness. In Psalms 74:20, David prayed that God should remember His covenant because the dark places of the earth are full of the habitation of cruelty. Whatever you call them or however you have experienced them, their activities are the same everywhere; subtly exerting power or controlling influence on people within distinct localities.
In the book of Zachariah 1:19-21, they are called the horns of the Gentiles that scattered Judea, Jerusalem and Sameria so that no one could lift his head(No one could progress or enjoy life to the fullest). It could be one powerful entity or a few people joining hands to hold every other person down. They are of the devil and work with demonic beings. They hinder progress, project strange sicknesses and untimely death. They impoverish and distract people from their glorious destinies. They insist on the status quo of evil and all forms of unrighteousness that spell bitterness, sorrow, pain, unfruitful labour and suffering for the People. They are the killers and destroyers, who fight every move to shine the light of God and liberate the people in the areas where they operate. One witch, wizard, sorcerer etc can hold an entire family or environment hostage. Until they are overpowered and dethroned nothing works. Sometimes they boast about what they do and at other times they remain unknown because they operate in the negative supernatural realm and still interact with their victims as ordinary people who cannot hurt a fly. This is why God in His infinite wisdom released power to His children. Christ lives in Christians, giving them power to face and overcome all challenges. The weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty to the pulling down of strongholds..
(John 10:10, Matt. 13:24-27, 2 Corinthians 10:4-6)

How are you living your life? Are you manifesting the power of God in your space? Are you in charge and in control of the affairs of your life as a child of God? You must stand your ground in the power of the Almighty God and resist the devil.
How would it have been if Moses had approached Pharaoh to ask for the freedom of the Jews without the power to counter that of the Egyptians magicians?. What would have been the fate of the Army of Israel if David had challenged Goliath without the power of Jehovah, the Lord of Hosts?. If Phillip had not come to Sameria and stop Simon the sorcerer from bewitching the people, there would have been a misconception of the power of the Holy ghost. If Paul had not demonstrated the power of God against Elymas, the gospel would not have gone to the next level. Thank God for these all stood for the kingdom when it mattered.Exodus 4&5, 1 Samuel 17,Acts 8:5-21, Acts 13:8-12)
Will you do the same if you are faced with the same challenge? If "yes" thank God, If " no" wake up. Do you think that by avoiding confrontation with the enemy he would leave you alone? No! You must resist him or rather, withstand him, and power is involved.
See, the kingdom of God is not in words but in the demonstration of the power of God. Unfortunately power doesn't come by claiming it. It can not be evident in a man's life unless he is completely sold out to God. He is the owner and giver of power . To everyone who received Him, He gave power to become His children. We understand and believe that God's exceeding great power is working in Christians. It is the same power that raised Jesus Christ and seated Him in the right hand in the heavenly places. By yeilding completely to His Lordship, we became His own. By our fellowship in the mystery of His death and resurrection,we are seated together in Him. Our spiritual location is in Christ Jesus, far above principalities and power, dominion, might and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come. According to His riches in glory we are strengthened with power through His spirit in our inner man. ( John 1:12-13,1 Corinthians 4:20, James 4:7, Ephesians 1,2&3).
When we see some professing Christians being hindered, molested, murdered, victimized by the workers of iniquity, how do we feel? When we see others bowing down to the devil in their quest for power, we know for sure that there is a mistake somewhere because Christians are customized with the inexhaustible power of God. It is time to rise and strengthen our intimacy with God. It is time to rise and be serious about the faith we profess. It is time to tarry in the place of prayer, declaring the power of the kingdom of God; overturning the table of wickedness, loosing the bands of captivity, telling our Jerusalem 'You shall be inhabited. It is time to pick the pieces and begin to raise the waste places of our lives, careers, businesses marriages and relationships. In the place of disadvantage, let us engage the power of grace to help . (Isaiah 44:26, Mark 9:23, Mark 11:23)
See,even if you are weak now. Even if you have been tortured and molested by powers beyond your control; and the situations of life have bended you so much that you can hardly raise your head, know that it is not yet over. God has not given up on you and you , do not give up on yourself. Receive Christ, the owner of power today and experience a turn around in your life. God bless you.

THE TIME IS NOW!
Time is very impatient, deaf dumb, and brute. Time does not entertain excuse or listen to explanation. Only the sovereign God, our creator enjoys the respect of time. It keeps moving steadily, not minding whether we pay attention or not. Times and seasons are set by God but humans invent different types of clocks, calendars etc. which are placed strategically to help us keep track and regulate our activities. It is so because we recognise the limits set by time as we prepare for eternity, when it will loose it's power over us.
" To every thing there is a season and a time to every purpose under the heaven. A time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to pluck up that which is planted, a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to break and a time to build up... " (Ecclesiastes 3:1-8)
Times and seasons are in the hand of God but man is responsible for; numbering his days, understanding his seasons, creating his story and writing his name on the sand of time.( Psalms 31:15 & Psalms 90:12), and this, with the help of God, else he will be lost in his own world.
Procrastination is the greatest enemy of time and those who nonchalant always fall victim. It is very dangerous to neglect or postpone what we should do today to a later date. That later date may not come. We do not own time but must recognise it in all our endeavours in order to have a happy ending without regrets and gnashing of teeth.
Jesus understood this; When He was physically on earth, every time in His life counted. He knew how much time He had to stay in his physical body. At twelve He started disconnecting from the reality of his humanity and started connecting to His divinity. He was seen sitting with the doctors, hearing them and asking them questions. He told His parents" I must be about my father's business (" Luke 2:49.) He further said " I must work the works of Him that sent me while it is day; the night cometh when no man can work. " (John 9:4 ) Time and purpose are closely connected. The time which our heavenly father allots to is always enough to his destiny. It is an error for any man to think that he is just born into this world to live and die one day. Every man came into this world with a destiny and a mandate, you inclusive. " For whom He did foreknow, He also did predetermined to be conformed to the image of His son, that He might be the first born among many brethren "( Romans 8:29. )
Any man who is ignorant of his purpose in life will not be able to number his days accurately. He will not understand his times and seasons. He will not give his heart to wisdom. He will abuse privileges and loose many opportunities.
Jesus said" My meat is to do the will of Him that sent me and to finish His work. Say not ye '. There are yet four months and then cometh harvest. Behold I say unto you" lit up your eyes and look on the field, for they are white already for harvest.( John 4: 34-35 )
Today pause for a second, look into the mirror of your life, past, present and future; What do you see? What are you doing with your time? What are the guarantee of what you are doing with your time? Is there any hope of expected end or you can not figure it out? Well you have a life to live here and an eternity to face when you die. The affluence, enjoyment and achievements of this world cannot erase the reality of eternity judgement.
Seeing that" .. it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this, the judgment: So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many and unto them that look for Him shall He appear the second time without sin unto salvation." ( Hebrew 9:27-28 ).
When Apostle Paul threw the ball of salvation to king Agrippa, he felt it was not yet time. He said, " Do you think that in such a short time you can persuade me to be a Christian? " ( Acts 26:28 . NIV). What are you saying now? Are you like King Agrippa, in still not persuaded? Do you belong to the class of people who think they are still young and have a lot of time to rock life before turning to God. I wish it is so but we do not own time and cannot control it. We only use it when God give it. So now is the best and only time you have." ... behold now is the accepted time; behold now is the day of salvation". (2 Corinthians 6:2). You have the opportunity to do a lot of things for yourself and for God. You can preach, sing, fast, engage in marathon prayer and do other things for the advancement of God's kingdom. " Remember now thy creator in the days of your youth; while the evil days come not nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pressure in them... " (Ecclesiastes 12:1 ) God bless you richly in Jesus name.

ARE YOU A CHRISTIAN? ( PART 2.)

In the first part of this article we discovered from the bible that Christianity is not, just obeying a set of rules, a body of belief or a code of conduct. Rather, it is being inwardly recreated, having God's presence and power. Let us look at these three characteristics that define who a Christian is.
1. INWARD RECREATION:. This is, making a new man out of the old; switching off from being controlled, dominated and influenced by the world and the devil, then switching over to being controlled, dominated and influenced by God and His kingdom. This has nothing to do with the name of a Church, a rank or a position. It is a consecrated life that is wholly submitted to God. You do not become a Christian or a child of God until you undergo the process of recreation, regeneration or rebirth by the power and spirit of God. Being transformed inside, letting go every form of carnality and living the life of Christ make you His own. As important as it is, for you to actively belong to a local Church, it does not make you a Christian or guarantee you a place in God's eternal kingdom. Jesus talked about the new wine in an old wine-skin. Going to Church is very good, but if you continue with the old life, you are not a Christian. You are just an old wine in a new wine-skin(2nd Corinthians 5:17, Romans 12:2).
You may just be claiming what you are not, if you are banking on Church membership whereas the image and character of Christ is not evidently seen in you.; dying to sin and living in righteousness.
( Romans 6:4, John 1:12-13, Phillipians 3:7,
Ephesians 4:22--23, Colossians 3:9)
" Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin" ( Romans 6:6).

Unless you have separated yourself from the works of the flesh like, strife, malice , greed, Envy, hatred, jealousy, murder, heresy, witchcraft, adultery, idolatry, pride, lust etc. claiming to be a Christian is living in falsehood. The old life must give way for the new to come. A Christian is one who has put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of the creator. Humility, love, kindness, patience, faith, meekness, truthfulness, peacefulness are some of the characters He or she exhibits without hypocrisy, name of Church or position not withstanding. For this, the spirit of God bears witness. (Galatians 5:19--21, Colossians 3:8--14, Romans 8:16, 1John 5:8).

2. DIVINE PRESENCE:
Christ lives in His people. God lives in His people. So a Christian is that person who has become a dwelling place for God. He is saved, redeemed, justified, sanctified and begotten of God. ( Colossians 1:27, 1st Corinthians 6:19, John 17:23). Christians are never alone. They carry the presence of God wherever they go. As a Christian, knowing that Christ lives in you melts away every fear. Be it, the fear of the devil, the fear of tomorrow or the fear of death; All fear will be gone because there is a consciousness of God's presence. God's presence also Inspires and prompts the Christian to live righteously and responsibly, knowing that God watches and there will be time for accountability. Christians have the confidence to say;
" For in Him we live and move and have our being, as some of your own poets have said, 'we are His offsprings." ( Acts 17:28).

3. POWER: Christians are powerful people. They rubbish the power of the devil wherever they are. They triumph over principalities and powers. They bring down every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God. They trample on serpents and scorpions and overcome all the power of the enemies. They resist the devil and cause him to flee. They declare the word of God with boldness and make disciples of men. They heal the Sick and raise the dead. On their account the gate of hell crumble. They are a terror to the devil and the workers of iniquity. They speak in new tongues, see visions and prophesy. Do you have this power?. Are excersicing it?.

Note: Christianity is not in words: by claiming or by the name of your Church, your position or how you defend the doctrines of your Church but in the demonstration of the power of God.( 1stCorinth. 4:20, 1st Corinth. 2:4.

ARE YOU A CHRISTIAN? ( PART 1)
"Hey! Come everyone who thirsts, to the waters! Come he who has no money, buy and eat!, yea come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.
Turn your ear, and come to me. Hear and your soul will live. I will make an everlasting covenant with you,even the sure mercies of David." ( Isaiah 55:1&3)

I was born by an earthly parents. I belong to a family tree, having brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins grand parents etc, with whom I share family traits, legacies and inheritance. I know them to be very loving, caring and wonderful people with whom I have a strong bond or family tie. We come together to celebrate the birth of a new child, graduation, marriage, other forms of success etc. We hug each other joyfully, seeing every individual's advancement as good news for the whole family. Encouraging and helping each other to sail through life's challenges is an obligation we owe one another. Also when one of us is sick or passing through the pain of death, we gather with every assistance, begging the doctor to save his or her life. We pray and wish he or she lives still.

When at the end he or she die, we see our helplessness. We mourn, cry and wail. As the dead body is lowered to the grave, we are filled with different thoughts. .. I have seen all these happen and expressed my emotions and I know you too have.
When my mother died some years ago, I lost everything she represented. She was beautiful, loving, caring, intelligent and hardworking, but I lost her. For years, I felt the pain and the vacuum because it happened at a time I needed her most in my life. I saw the emptiness of life: I saw the vanity... the futility of labouring for gains I cannot keep. All of us feel the same way at some point in life. Some people look for relief and comfort in the wrong places. Others suppress the urge to seek for the true meaning of life, and they take whatever comes their way...

There is a thirst which no earthly relationship can quench. There is a Hunger beyond what the love of our earthly family can satisfy. There is a spiritual hunger and thirst which can only be satisfied by God. There is a vacuum which He alone can fill in our lives. Jesus told the Samaritan woman about the water that quenches the thirst of the soul, and becomes a well of living water springing up into eternal life. JOHN 4:7--14. An encounter with Jesus Christ brings about this satisfaction, and quenches the thirst of the soul. He told Nicodemus,who was one of the leaders and teachers of the Jews.
" That which is born of the flesh is flesh and that which is born of the spirit is spirit"(John 3:6) Paul's encounter with Him on his way to Damascus changed everything for him.
When the Hunger is satisfied what next? You begin to ask questions; how do I position myself for this water that Jesus gives to flow into me and spring into eternal life. How do I become a Christian indeed and grow, in the midst of different doctrines practiced by different denominations, all claiming to be the best and the authentic?
Now who is a Christian? Is it that woman that covers her hair always, and does not wear trousers, make-up or jewelry? Is it the one that does all of these and thinks the grace of God is a license for reckless lifestyle? To these and other questions there are many different answers from different individuals, which accounts for different doctrines and denominations. One begins to wonder if the Church is gradually loosing her bearing as the corporate body of Christ, by elevating personal opinion and doctrines above spiritual rebirth which is a therapy for the hungry soul.; The very essence of Christianity or New-birth. So there is need for us to go back to the bible which is our compass and define Christianity properly.
WHAT IS CHRISTIANITY?
Is it a set of rules, a body of belief or a code of conduct? NO! Christianity is inwardly recreated life, divine presence and power of God. A Christian is one who beyond earthly parentage is adopted into God's eternal family. He is begotten of God by the spirit. He belongs to a spiritual family tree with all believers in heaven and on earth., Christ being the first born. He is righteous,, faithful, humble, compassionate and full of grace. He is an image of Christ, a royal priest, an ambassador of God's kingdom, living the life and shining the light of God, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. He is not subject to the rudiments of the world or the ordinances of men; like, touch not, taste not, handle not... which all are to perish with the using after the commandments and doctrines of men. Those rules may seem wise because they require strong devotion, humility and severe bodily discipline but they have no effect when it comes to conquering a person's evil thought and desires . Colossians 2 : 20--23. A Christian lives a consecrated and supernatural life. Is it your lifestyle now?. ( To be continued)

I trust, you are connected to our God, Almighty in a relationship that is not built after the law of a carnal commandment, but after the power of an endless life.
See, all over the world the spirit is moving and there is a might revelation of the glory of God as the waters cover the sea.
Our Lord Jesus Christ said " The truth is, anyone who believes in me will do the same work I have done, and greater works" (John 14:12). Do you believe?.
Do you believe that in our generation, there will be a glorious manifestation of the sons of God for whom the whole world earnestly wait?.(Romans 8:19).
Do you believe that in our time, miracles are still happening? They bring honour to our heavenly father's name... They are everlasting signs of His love and power. So arise, lay hold of your divine inheritance. As part of the End Time Army of God, continue to lift the banner of His glory.
Remember " Whatever is born of God overcomes the world and this is the victory that has overcome the world-- Our faith. ( 1st John 5:4). God bless you.
