Our Today’s Devotional 25th Sept
2025:
(Scriptures are from KJV of the Bible)
“The World Loves His Own, But Does the Church Hate Her Own?” (Part 3)
Scriptural Snapshot:
“If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.” – John 15:19.
One of the saddest realities is that while the world stands united to defend its own, the Church sometimes stands divided, even against her own members. Instead of love, we often see criticism, gossip, and neglect. Yet Christ calls His Church to the opposite, to cover one another in love and to bear one another’s burdens.
Proverbs reminds us: “A friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.” (Proverbs 17:17). If this is the wisdom of Solomon concerning natural friendship, how much more should it apply to spiritual brethren washed in the same blood of Christ?
The Church is the body of Christ, and each believer is a member of that body. Paul wrote: “That there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another.” (1 Corinthians 12:25). Division, envy, and neglect are marks of spiritual sickness, not health.
When the early Church faced persecution, they drew closer in unity, praying together, sharing their possessions, and ensuring “neither was there any among them that lacked” (Acts 4:34). Today, many churches turn eyes away from their own sister Churches need and brethren, while spending lavishly on appearances and buildings. This reveals misplaced priorities.
Another twist is that some have frantic efforts to swallow other churches !
Beloved, Christ gave His life for us when we were yet sinners (Romans 5:8). Should we not, then, give our love and care to those who are now our family in Him? “We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death.” (1 John 3:14).
Prayer:
Father, heal the wounds of division in Your Church. Deliver us from envy, gossip, and neglect. Pour Your love into our hearts so that we may truly care for one another as members of Your body in Jesus's Name.
Reflective Questions:
Do my actions heal or hurt the body of Christ? Am I known by love for the brethren, or by criticism and neglect?
Reminder:
To be born again, to be a new creature, you must:
1. Acknowledge you are a sinner (1 John 1:8).
2. Repent, turn from sin to God (Acts
Acts 3:19.
3. Believe with your heart and confess with your mouth that Jesus died for your sins and rose again (Romans 10:9 - 10).
4. Receive Him personally as your Lord and Saviour (John 1:12).
5. Believe and pray henceforth only through His Name because He only died for your sins on the Cross - Acts 4:12, 1 Cort. 15:3.
If you will call upon Him now, He will save you: “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved” (Romans 10:13).
Prayer of Surrender:
Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner. I believe You died for my sins and rose again. I repent and turn to You. I believe from my heart that You are my Saviour who died for me on the Cross. I receive You now into my heart as my Lord and Saviour. Come into my heart, forgive me, and be my Lord and Saviour from henceforth. Thank You for saving me.
Assurance:
If you prayed sincerely from your heart, you are now born again! “He that hath the Son hath life” (1 John 5:12).
You are now born again if you did this sincerely from your heart and with your genuine Confession of same from your mouth according to Scriptures. Please share this and help others to get born again and encourage them to do same.
