THE SPIRIT OF GOD

SUB-TOPIC: THE IMPORTANCE OF PRAYER

TEXT: Romans 8:26–29
MINISTER: Prophet Olatosin Ebenezer Dada
DATE: 6th September 2026

INTRODUCTION

WHAT IS PRAYER?

Prayer is direct communication with God. It builds our relationship with Him, gives us peace in difficult times, and helps us align our hearts with His will.

Philippians 4:4–7; James 4:1-8

Prayer is not only asking God to change our situation. Prayer also allows God to change us.

There are dimensions we cannot access by human strength alone. Your next level is not only about what you do; it is also about who you become in the presence of God.

Look at Moses. His encounter with God changed his life and even his appearance.

Exodus 34:24–35; 2 Corinthians 3:7

The presence of God changes a person.

---

SEVEN REASONS WHY PRAYER IS IMPORTANT

1. PRAY UNTIL YOUR PERSPECTIVE CHANGES

Jeremiah 33:3

God can show you things you cannot see by yourself.

Sometimes, before God changes your situation, He changes the way you see it.

Pray until your perspective changes.

---

2. PRAY UNTIL YOUR FAITH RISES

Mark 5:25–34

The woman with the issue of blood suffered for twelve years. But when she heard about Jesus, her faith rose.

She believed that touching His garment would make her whole.

Prayer helps us overcome fear and unbelief.

Pray until your faith rises.

---

3. PRAY UNTIL CLOSED DOORS BEGIN TO OPEN

James 5:7–8; 1 Kings 18:41–45

Elijah prayed until the rain came.

Sometimes the answer may not come immediately, but do not stop praying.

God can open doors that no man can open.

Pray until closed doors begin to open.

---

4. PRAY UNTIL YOU HEAR CLEARLY

2 Kings 7:1–2

There are times when we need God's direction.

Prayer is not only about speaking to God; it is also about listening to God.

When you pray, ask God to give you clear direction.

Pray until you hear clearly.

---

5. PRAY UNTIL YOU BECOME WHAT GOD HAS CALLED YOU TO BE

1 Chronicles 4:9–10

Jabez refused to allow his difficult beginning to determine his future.

He prayed and asked God to bless him and enlarge his territory.

Prayer can help us step into God's purpose for our lives.

Pray until you become what God has called you to be.

---

6. PRAY UNTIL YOUR SHAME TURNS TO TESTIMONY

1 Samuel 2:1–3

Hannah experienced pain and shame, but God changed her story.

Her sorrow became a testimony.

God can turn your situation around.

Pray until your shame turns to testimony.

---

7. PRAY UNTIL SOMETHING GREAT MANIFESTS IN YOUR LIFE

Judges 11:1–3; Isaiah 60:1–2

Jephthah was rejected because of his background, but God still had a purpose for his life.

Your background cannot cancel God's plan for you.

Isaiah 60:1–2 says:

«“Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.”»

There is something great God wants to manifest in your life.

Pray until something great manifests.

---

THE HOLY SPIRIT HELPS US TO PRAY

Romans 8:26–29

The Bible says that the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness.

There are times when we do not know what to pray for or how to pray.

But the Holy Spirit helps us.

This is why we need the Spirit of God in our prayer life.

When the Holy Spirit helps us to pray, He helps us pray according to God's will.

Prayer is not just a religious activity. It is a relationship with God.

---

CONCLUSION

Prayer changes us.

Prayer increases our faith.

Prayer gives us direction.

Prayer opens doors.

Prayer brings divine intervention.

Prayer helps us discover God's purpose.

Therefore, do not stop praying.

Pray until your perspective changes.

Pray until your faith rises.

Pray until closed doors open.

Pray until you hear clearly.

Pray until you become what God has called you to be.

Pray until your shame becomes a testimony.

Pray until something great manifests in your life.

Your next level is not only about what you can do. It is also about who you become in the presence of God.

*TOPIC*: THE MYSTERY OF THE SPIRIT OF GOD

**TEXT:** 1 Corinthians 2:1–16
**MINISTER:** Prophet Olatosin Ebenezer Dada
**DATE:** 30th August 2026

THE MYSTERY OF THE SPIRIT OF GOD

The mystery of the Spirit of God is that the Holy Spirit is fully God, living inside believers to reveal hidden spiritual truths, guide our lives, and connect us directly to the mind and presence of God.

We are living in that world full of mysteries and challenges, but only those who can walk in the Spirit of God are privileged to break through and break out in life.

The Spirit of God has every capacity to make you become what you are destined for and also gives you fulfilment in life. **Jeremiah 29:11.**

There are forces you need to succeed in life through the Spirit of God.

(1) THE FORCE OF GOD

Until you learn to appreciate God as the only One/person that can help you, you will remain stagnant in life and stranded always. **1 Chronicles 29:11–12; Psalm 121:1–2.**

(2) THE FORCE OF THE EARTH

The earth possesses a divine force and yield that responds to the voice of God and the faith of His people. **Revelation 12:16.**

* God has placed incredible power right here on earth. The earth does not matter. It is a created force filled with God's provision and designed to listen to His voice.
* God gave the earth into the hands of mankind to rule and manage.
* The earth/ground responds towards and to the seeds we sow. **Ecclesiastes 5:9; Isaiah 1:2.**

(3) THE FORCE OF THE COVENANT WITH GOD

Covenant is a supreme bond. Understand that covenant is more than a simple promise; it is a sworn, sacred contract backed by God's integrity.

Being in a covenant with God places a spiritual hedge around you, making His reliability your ultimate defence. **Deuteronomy 7:9; Psalm 89:33–37.**

(4) THE FORCE OF MAN

Inasmuch as we don't need to look up to men, we need to understand that there is no one alone.

Every successful one in life is traceable to the help such a person has received or the help such a person has given.

No one succeeds alone. You need to understand the mystery of life. Destiny and purpose can't succeed without the help of others.

That is why you need to take it easy and build relationships with everyone around you because you don't know the one God has sent to you. **2 Samuel 9:1–13; Psalm 8:4–6; Esther 2:7–10.**

The mystery in the book of **Daniel 3** is an eye-opener for everyone: if we can walk in one accord and one language with strong faith, there is nothing we can't achieve.

These three Hebrew men overcame the challenges and trials prepared before them by King Nebuchadnezzar, and the rest is a massive testimony.

NEWNESS: AN ESSENTIAL QUALITY OF A CHRISTIAN LIFE
TEXT ROMANS 6:3-4
A life of a Christian is a call to newness, beyond the possession of earthly material things such as new cars, houses, new contract, new body etc. NEWNESS is foundational to the Christian message AND LIFE. We can not properly lay hold of the claims and life of Christ, without it!
experiencing true spiritual and physical newness requires a fundamental shift and transformation in mindset, cause the mind is the pathway to living and receiving newness in Christ Jesus
2 Corinthians 5:17 (New Living Translation)
“This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!”
To walk in newness, one must first experience the miracle of salvation and regeneration.
WHAT IS NEWNESS: Is a complete, whole spiritual transformation ,a change of heart with a character reflection of a person brought by the finished work of Christ Jesus. John 1:12

AREAS NEWNESS IS NEEDED
NEWNESS OF LIFE: Romans 6:3-4, col 2:6
The newness life of a Christian begins with a spiritual rebirth. When a person accepts Jesus as Lord and Saviour, he or she is no longer the same. declares that “we also should walk in newness of life.” This is not just a change in behaviour—it is a transformation of nature, identity, and direction.
It also means considering ourselves “alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord”
Walking in the newness of life means living according to the divine nature we have received through Christ. It is a lifestyle of victory over sin, a pursuit of righteousness, and a journey into the fullness of God’s plan for our lives. The old man is crucified, and the new man is empowered by the Holy Spirit to live a holy and purposeful life.
Examples saul- Paul, Acts 9:1-20

NEWNESS OF HEART OR SOUL :ROMANS 12:2 , Ezekiel 36:26, phillipians 2:5
The mind is a battlefield that must be constantly aligned with God’s truth The Word transforms ourthinking , Daily meditation on the Word renews the mind and reshapes our worldview. The former conduct, driven by deceitful desires, must be consciously discarded and The Spirit leads and guides our thoughts (John 16:13):
Examples: The Bereans Acts 17:11,

NEWNESS OF CHARACTER: Ephesians 4:22-31, Romans 8;1
Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. That old man and his sinful ways tries, at times, to resurrect himself in our lives. We, therefore, have to “put off’ that old men
Example: The woman caught in adultery was forgiven and charged to “go and sin no more” (John 8:11).

HOW CAN YOU WALK IN NEWNESS
a separation from Sin (Romans 6:14):
b) There must be a clean break from your past (2 Corinthians 6:17):
c) Holiness becomes our pursuit (Hebrews 12:14):
d) walk in the consciousness of God's grace (Titus 2:11-12
e walking in faith Hebrews 11:6 ,1peter 1:7
Faith is the vehicle by which the new life is sustained and expressed.
WHY SHOULD WE WALK IN NEWNESS
A renewed life produces evidence of God’s work within us.
b) Our lives become a testimony & bring glory to God (Matthew 5:16)
c) We become vessels for noble use (2 Timothy 2:21):
d) it draws us closer to God’s presence and voice. James 4:8
Example: The early disciples’ transformed lives drew many to Christ (Acts 2:42-47).
