OMOLARA OLAYINKA EULER-AJAYI
PROFILE
Omolara Euler-Ajayi’s experience in management, leadership and training at various levels of education, capacity building, mentoring, marriage counseling, cultural transformation and income generating development spans over 50 years.
Her training experience started at the Lagos Anglican Girls Grammar School later Birch Freeman High School, Surulere where she served as teacher and Head of Department of Languages for five years. Posted to Muslim Teacher Training College in 1974 through the Obasanjo regime Universal Primary Education (UPE) Program, she became the Vice Principal in 1975 before movement to the Federal Ministry of Education Head Quarters as founding Head of Correspondence Education Unit in 1977.
For over ten years, she trained University Lecturers and Secondary School Teachers in the assessment and evaluation of over one hundred Correspondence Colleges in Nigeria for Accreditation. Prior to this was her attachment in 1977 to the Council for the Accreditation of Correspondence Colleges, London, where she was certified as an institutional trainer, assessor and evaluator.
She spent the next six years as Head and National coordinator of women’s and girls’ education in Nigeria during which time she trained two hundred women trainers in every state of the Federation in leadership, team work culture, cooperative and income generation. She was the founder/initiator of the Youth Programme for Better Family Life in Nigeria where she annually developed over 400 youths aged between 16 and 30 years in leadership skills and self reliance. The project was later adopted by the Babangida regime and later sponsored annually by Her Excellency Mrs Maryam Babangida .
She launched the Education of the Girl Child programme in 1987 and also initiated the science and Technology Road show Clinic where secondary school girls were motivated to study science and technology. In 1993, as Deputy Director of Education in the Federal Ministry of Education, she became the Head of the two education policy-making bodies in Nigeria: the Joint Consultative Committee on Education (JCCE) and the National Council on Education (NCE) where she was responsible for the collation and presentation of all educational memoranda from federal, state, other government and non-governmental organizations and individuals. She coordinated the implementation of approved education policies.
She is a certified UNDP, UNESCO and UNICEF programme developer and capacity building expert and she served in that capacity from 1987 to 1993 after her training by the International Agencies.
She is also certified as a trainer by the ILO Centre for the Training of Technical and Vocational Educators.
She is widely travelled to all the continents and had trained women trainers in Los Angeles through the UCLA education department.
She served as Principal, Queens College Lagos from 2001 to 2004. It is noteworthy that during her tenure, Queens College in 2004, recorded the best result in the WAEC Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) and graduated 816 students; the result was the best and the number the highest, not only in NIgeria but also in the 75 years’ history of the college.
She retired as Principal, Federal Government Girls College, Sagamu in December 2005.
She has been happily married to Very Revd Moronfolu Emmanuel Euler-Ajayi for over 53 years and they are blessed with God-fearing children and loving grandchildren.
Currently, she is the Executive Director of Visseto Consultancy. Her work schedule includes Training the Trainers, Performance Evaluation, Leadership Development, Culture Transformation and Income Generation and Management training.
She is an Adult educator and Leadership Developer. She had successfully trained teachers at Methodist Boys High School, Lagos, teachers in all Anglican schools in Lagos State and Igbobi College where she was 2-term (10-year) member, Board of Governors
