This video of a lady trending on social media that she was denied of writing exam because of hijab remind me of my own painful experience I went through during my ND days in the 2015/2016 session at Federal Polytechnic idah , department of computer science .
We had a lecturer who made it compulsory for all students to wear a departmental polo. I complied—I wore the polo with my hijab. But during one of his lectures, he stopped me and said I must remove my hijab because, according to him, it covered the polo.
I refused.
That day, he denied me access to his lecture.
From that moment, I never attended his class again until the semester ended.
When it was time for tests, he made it clear again: no polo, no test. I came prepared, but I was denied the opportunity to write because I refused to remove my hijab.
I cried that day like never before.
I reported the matter to the Amir of the Muslim community in the school(Amir sherif) , and it escalated to the school authorities. The lecturer was called to order and eventually apologized.

I wrote all my exam, and I was confident I did excellently. I expected a distinction.
But when the result came out, I saw a 2.33.
I was broken.
I cried, I prayed, and I took it to Allah in Tahajjud. I spoke to Him constantly—while standing, while walking—reporting my pain and my result to Him.
“Ya Allah, You saw what I wrote. This is not my result.”
The next semester, something unexpected happened.
That same lecturer called me, apologized sincerely, and we made peace. He encouraged me to do better next semester .
I took that seriously.
I worked harder than ever before—like my life depended on it.
And that semester, I got a distinction.
Not just that—I graduated as one of the best students of my set. The carryover I once had was eventually cleared.
That was when I truly understood: Allah sees everything.
Note:
During that period I was denied to write test, I was not the only Muslim sister in my department. We were about six or seven who wore hijab.
But when the pressure came, most of them removed it.
I was the only one who stood firm.
And today, I stand by this truth:
If you truly believe in Allah and stand firm in your faith, nothing can shake you.
Do not let anyone intimidate you because of your religion.
Do not trade your values for temporary convenience.
Allah is sufficient for us.
Hold on to your faith. Trust in Allah. And believe in yourself.
May Allah make it easy for us all. 🤍Please visit my page, follow me and patronise me, I sell modest ready to wear and hijabs. Jazakallahu akhair
