A MUST READ FOR EVERY CELESTIAL MEMBER PLANNING TO ATTEND IMEKO CONVOCATION
THE TEN STEPS
5. ANNUAL CHRISTMAS CONVOCATION AT IMEKO, CELESTIAL CITY: The midnight service on the 24th December should be celebrated like the service of the first Thursday of each month. Worshippers should assemble at a place designated by the Pastor. This important service is a full congregational worship, conducted by the Pastor, eve of Christmas which is the 24th of December of every year. This is observed with three kinds of fruit, 1 Candle stick and 1 Egg. Materials to be taken along are: Perfume, Soap, Candle, e.t.c. The Pastor does not pray over these materials, even Papa SBJ Oshoffa in his lifetime never did so. During the 12am full liturgical worship, the holy angels would descend and bless them. Each worshipper puts down his objects before him, and after the service, he collects them, already sanctified.
It is expected that one goes to Imeko with the items the purposes to use throughout that year. This may sound burdensome. Alternatively, one could use a stick of candle that was brought from this service at Imeko to present before God with additional items bought at home, when one gets back to his domain. Same thing is achieved. Our God is full of grace and plenteous in mercy.
To go to the place for Christmas celebration is a pilgrimage, and should be prepared as such, in sanctification and sanctity. We go there to receive the grace and blessings for the New Year. We do not go to celebrate Christmas for anointment. Some worshippers leave Imeko immediately after the Christmas Eve service which takes place on 24th December, disregarding the Christmas service which follows on the 25th December. This is a serious error. It is the responsibility of the Pastor's representative to duly inform and educate his members to wait for the Thanksgiving service..
It should be noted that the pilgrimage was instituted for worship, prayer and retreat, not necessarily for anointment..
