THE POVERTY OF JESUS

2 Corinthians 8:9
For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich. Kjv

So many times, this verse of the scriptures has been interpreted by the materialistic preachers as meaning that Jesus became a carpenter so that we can be a billionaire on earth.

When preaching is not the preaching of the cross, it can become motivational speaking or millionaire making tips.

Mathew 28 :19-20
A preacher was never sent to raise millionaire, a preacher was sent to make disciples. Not just his disciples but the disciples of Christ. Therefore it become abuse of office when a preacher shift from disciple making into millionaire making.

The church is not a place to raise millionaires but the business school. Therefore, the primary and sole assignments of the church is to raise disciples.

When the scripture said that Jesus became poor, what does the scripture mean by that.

WHAT WAS THE POVERTY OF JESUS THAT MADE US RICH.
Philipians2:6-9

The poverty of Jesus is Him reducing Himself from being God to becoming man so that man can become God.

For Him who created the universe, who is the king of Kings, the giver of life and the beginner of all thing to compress Himself to the form of a creature(creator becoming creature) is what Apostle Paul was describing as the poverty of Jesus.

He became too lowly, a servant and finally was killed as a common criminal; that was the height of poverty.

SO HOW DID WE BECAME RICH AND WHAT IS OUR WEALTH IN CHRIST.
Ephesians 1:3-7.
In the incarnation, God became man, Deity merged Himself with humanity so that humanity can be the same with deity.

Ephesians 2:5-6
Man (an outlaw because of sin) is now sitted together with divinity, reigning together with divinity, this is what the scriptures called the RICHES OF REDEMPTION.

This riches of redemption is not for the unregenerated man. Its for the new creation. Its for the ones who have accepted Jesus as their saviour and enthroned Him as the Lord of their lives.

Being born again is not just attending church meetings or being a worker in a local church.
Being born again is being inducted into the family of God without which you can never be a partaker in the riches of redemption. Ephesians 2:11-19.

YOU ARE GOD'S HOUSE AND HE LIVES IN YOU

Haggai 2:9.
The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former saith the Lord of hosts: and in this place will I give peace saith the Lord of hosts.

In exodus, God told Moses to build a temple and gave him a pattern on how to build it. How it will be segmented.

Previously, I have told us that from Genesis to Deutronomy is Moses teaching to the Jews documented.

Moses in an attempt to explain to his audience that God will inhabit them or that God will live inside of a man illustrated to them this spiritual reality using a temple to teach them.

Zechariah 4:6. God emphatically told Zerubbabel that the temple will not be built with human power but by the spirit of God. That means that the temple that God is talking about is not a temple built by the hand of man with bricks and rubles but by the hand of God.

1 Kings 8:9-10, we saw that upon the dedication of Solomon's temple, that the glory covered the temple. That should mean that the shekinah overshadowed the building site of the temple.

There was a school of thought that says that the glory of the latter temple which happened to be Solomon's temple was greater than the former temple because Jesus walked into Solomon's temple and taught in it. This is a good story but its a fake and a scam too.

John 2:19 Jesus said destroy Solomon's temple and in three days I will raise it.

Mathew 24:1-2 Jesus said that the temple will be destroyed. That is to say that the temple God was referring to was not brick has not being built; therefore, every monument standing as a temple will e destroyed so that the real temple will manifest.

Luke 9:58. Most people have interpreted this verse as Jesus being physically homeless but He was simply saying that the temple of the Holyghost is not yet ready. But in John 14:23 He became clear with the type and design of the house He will live in. And this house will ve ready after resurrection.
We must note that Jesus earthly ministry was to introduce the kingdom to humanity.
1 Corinthians 6:19.
We are the temple he is talking about. We are the temple Moses was describing to his audience.

What about the glory of the latter house?
John17:22. We are partaker of the same glory with the son. This glory cannot be compared with any other glory. Its the glory of the father. As He is so are we in this life. He lives in you. You are a God carrier. Glory!!!!

Ephesians 1:13-14
"in whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation ;in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that HolySpirit of promise
Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.

The Holy spirit in-dwelling a believer is a mark that he(the believer) belongs to God. Romans 8:9.
He is also a mark that the believer is a legal son of God Romans 8:14.

The Holy Spirit in a believer is the DNA of God in a believer, 1 Peter 1:23. This I repeat made the believer a son and gives the believer the legal right to call God his father and also a beneficially to the riches of redemption.

What determines paternity is DNA, so when one does not have the DNA of his father in him, he looses his paternity claim.

But this HolySpirit which was called a seal in our opening text will remain inside of a believer until the redemption of the purchased possession which we all refer to as the rapture.

So when we hear and believe the gospel, the Holy Spirit comes in and resides in us as a witness or evidence or proof or a guarantee or a conviction that God owns us. 2 Corinthians 1:21-22.

Roman 8:11
On the day of redemption (rapture) God will come to take His family home, just like the way we go to take our children home from school after dismissal.

When we get to the school, we only pick our own children and leave behind other children.

So on that day of redemption, it's only those that had the spirit of God will be taken and the rest who doesn't have the spirit will be abandoned.
Therefore, we will say that the rapture is not what you fast and pray for, the rapture is the blessed hope of the believer because its the day that we(the believer) will return back to our home country.

The only guarantees that you are a citizen of that country is the HolySpirit.

So if you don't have it, you are not a citizen,
But as many as are sealed with the Holy Spirit, they are already raptured.

So the proof that you are rapturable is that He is living inside of you.

DO you have the HolySpirit?
Are you rapturable?

Christianity is simply The Father (God) and His Family (believers)

When we are growing up, our parent will assign us some domestic chores as they go out for their daily business.

On coming back, some will finish their assignment, some may not finish while some may not attempt doing theirs.

So our parents will 'beat up' the one who refused to do theirs and will praise the ones who did theirs.

Sometimes, they may buy gift for the obidient ones or give them a double ration of food or any gift items but give little to the ones who did not obey or do their assignment.

Irrespective of the fact that they (the children) were not equally rewarded but all of them remains children in the house or family members.

So it is in the family of God. We are all born into the family the moment we believed the gospel but we will not be equally rewarded on the judgement seat of Christ.
1 Corinthians 3:15

There is a gift which is salvation Ephesians 2:8-9. Which is a free gift devoid of works.

And there is a reward which is as a result of your works. This works here is the produce of your faith in Christ. James2:18. Your obidience to God's word, your conformity to His word, your love for the brethren. Your stewardship report. 1 Corinthians 3:15

Salvation is God's marriage to humanity.

The redemptive work or the ransom(His blood) was the bride price or dowry paid for humanity.

Just like in our earthly marriage, the more you live together in peace and harmony with your spouse, the more the both party resemble themselves.; sometimes it come to a point that they will look like identical twins. This is called to be conformed into His image.

The more we abide in Him and fellowship with the HolySpirit, the more we look like Him, and the more we bear friut.

In God's marriage, there is no divorce, HE HATE DIVORCE Malachi 2:16.
He is too faithful and too loving to divorce irrespective of the unfaithfulness of His bride.
He keeps talking and keep washing His bride so that His bride will be presented to Him as a beautiful bride without fault or blemish. Ephesians 5:26-27.

He is a loving husband who never sees fault in His bride because love covers multitude of sin. Love never sees evil all what He sees is goodness and strength.

We are the bride of Christ. He loved us, He is not going to love us, He has LOVED us. Revelation 1:5.
He is not a man who cannot keep his marriage ; He is faithful God who will always keep his marriage.

WHY THE BIBLE?

In our previous post, we said that all what God ask us to teach with were documented and they are all chronicled in the bible.
We also said that the bible was the material that God gave us to teach from.

The question is why the Bible?
2 Peter 1:16-21. 2 Timothy 3:15-16.

The bible is the collection of God inspired writings by holy men who wrote supernatural events and prophesies concerning the works of redemption and the fulfilment thereof.

In it, contains all the promises and plan of God for redemption and also the identity of the man in Christ and the fate of the unbelieving man.

Beginning from exodus, we see that God will tell his prophets to write. So God understands the importance of writing and asked us to teach from what we have written.
Joshua1:8 God asked Joshua not to neglect the writings of Moses(the book of the law) but to study, meditate and teach the Jewish nation from it.
I used to say that Genesis, Exodus till Deutronomy or what we call the pentateuch was Moses's teaching note to the Hebrew nation in captivity enroute canaanland.
In Joshua, God ask Joshua to study and teach from it.

Luke24:25-27 was Jesus teaching from the old testament books. Also Luke4, we saw Jesus teaching from the writings of the prophet and in Acts 28:23, we saw Apostle Paul teaching also from the book of law and the prophets.

What are the gains of bible interpretation.
2Timothy3:16
When the Bible is rightly divided, it will be advantageous in
1) Doctrine(Didaskalia) it means in teaching or explanation. There is no book any where that is the highest authority in the explanation or teaching of God and godliness. It reveals God and the His work of redemption. Because some of the writers were eye witnesses(1 John 1:1-4)who wrote in the lifetime of other eye witnesses. They gave a first hand reportage of supernatural events which happened before them as an evidence that what was prophesied did manifested and fulfilled.
2) For Reproof(elektos) which means evidence. That means that the bible can persuade you. It can convince you to believe.
That means that the bible will help the teacher to convince and persuade his audience on the topic of salvation.
3) Another gain of the bible is correction {ephanatosis). It means that the bible will correct your notion about Christ.
It can correct your behavior, way of life and thinking pattern.
4) Instructions in righteousness. The Bible is filled with life changing and influencing instructions which will
