*THANK THE LORD -7*
READING: PSALM 150:1-6
LIFE VERSE: "PRAISE YE THE LORD. Praise God in His sanctuary: praise Him in the firmament of His power." Vs. 1

True praise and thanksgiving to God will not be confined to the sanctuary (vs. 1-2,6). We can truly give thanks and praise to God only when we see His full greatness and goodness, recall and meditate upon all that He has done in creation and redemption and in our personal lives. In this way, praise becomes a powerful response of the heart expressing joy, gratitude, and the desire for communion with our Lord.

In addition to praising and thanking God with our songs and instruments in the sanctuary, we can praise God with a life of love and joy, with faith in Christ, with victory over the powers of Satan, with a spiritual hunger for His kingdom and His righteousness, with devotion to His Word, with the love of God poured out into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, with the proclamation of His imminent return. Beloved, the scripture admonish us to cultivate the attitude of praising and thanking God because at the end of the age we will, to the praise of God, participate in His judgment upon the unrepentant world of the wicked and the antichrist (1Cor.6:2-3; Rev. 18:20).
MEDITATION
*As believers our praise and thanksgiving is a two-edged sword: worship and spiritual warfare.
*The scripture admonished believers to be in the habit of praising and thanking God always (vs. 6; Psm. 119:7).

CONFESSION AND PRAYER
*Give thanks and praise to God for all He is doing in your life and family.
*Thank God for all He will be doing in your life and family.
*Give God thanks and praise for your church.
*Give thanks and praise to God for what He is doing in your nation and the world.

*THANK THE LORD -6*
READING: PSALM 116:1-19
LIFE VERSE: "Gracious is the LORD, and righteous; yea, our God is merciful." Vs. 5

This Psalm expresses thanksgiving to God for deliverance from death and declares the praise of all afflicted believers who have been rescued by the Lord and have been spared death or great calamity. This deliverance from death or calamity is present and prophetic; it refers to the second death (Rev. 20: 14). The expression of gratitude flows from the hearts of all those who have experienced salvation from the Lord. They will show it by their love (vs.1), loyalty (vs. 2), righteous living (vs.9), thanksgiving, and a firm resolute to obey the Lord (vs.14).

The Lord carefully watches over the lives of His faithful people. He exercises control over the circumstances of their death. When they are dying, He is there with them. Their death, which is of great value to Him, is the occasion when they are delivered from all evil, are taken from this life to a place of blessed victory, and are brought into heaven to see Jesus face to face. Receive peace!
MEDITATION
*God deserves your gratitude and thankfulness for many deliverances you have received from Him.

*Father, by your power and grace help to live my life doing your Will and pleasing you in the name of Jesus Christ.

*THANK THE LORD-5*
READING: PSALM 107:1-43
LIFE VERSE: "O GIVE THANKS unto the LORD, for He is good: for His mercy endureth forever." Vs. 1

This Psalm reiterates the redeemed to praise the Lord for deliverance from desperate and dangerous situations. The Psalmist then recounts God's response to the extreme troubles of his people when they cried to Him: hunger and thirst (vs. 4-9), slavery (vs. 10-16), illness almost to death (vs. 17-22), danger of life's storm ( vs. 23-32), miraculous deeds (vs. 33-38), and oppression (vs. 39-42). Severely the Psalmist used this phrase "they cried unto the LORD", and God "delivered or saved them out of their distresses". God frequently brings His children to a place where their own self-sufficiency fails and where no human being can help, in order that they might cry out to Him in humble and child-like faith.

This Psalm is relevant today for all believers who in affliction and misery cry out to the Lord. It builds up our faith and encourages us during those times when we need God to intervene specifically in our lives. Beloved, it is imperative to note that even when we have only ourselves to blame for our troubles, God desires to deliver us. Hence, even if we are experiencing great distress, knowing that He may be judging us, we can still put our hope in His mercy and call upon Him in faith for His forgiveness and help.
MEDITATION
*God is always compassionate and merciful, you can trust Him for help.
*God desires to deliver and save all those who call upon Him in time of need or troubles.

*THANK THE LORD-4*
READING: PSALM 106:1-48
LIFE VERSE: "PRAISE YE THE LORD, O give thanks unto the LORD; for He is good; for His mercy endureth for ever." Vs. 1

The Psalmist recounts Israel's recurring rebellion and apostasy with respect to God's word and ways. He confesses their sins and unfaithfulness and pray that God will once again visit His repentant people with full salvation and blessings. God's people individually and collectively should confess their shortcomings before the Lord. When we recognize our spiritual failure and then repent, real revival and restoration can take place.

The Psalmist warned us to beware of desiring and pursuing what is not in the Will of God. When we insist on satisfying our selfish desires, God sometimes allows us have our own way, but with it comes spiritual leanness or physical calamity. Beloved, God may permit us to pursue things contrary to His revealed Will, such as an unholy vocational ambition, an unholy love affair, worldly pleasures, covetous desires, or ungodly fellowship with unbelievers, but in the end those things have destructive consequences.
MEDITATION
*God will not force Him Will on you, He allows you make your choice.
*Be careful how you pursue your desires, and remember the end consequences.

*THANK THE LORD-2*
READING: PSALM 103:1-22
LIFE VERSE: "Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless His holy name." Vs.1

"To bless " conveys the meaning of " to praise. " This Psalm thus expresses thankfulness and praise to the LORD for the benefits and blessings that He bestows on the believing covenant people ( vs. 2). We must never forget God's goodness to us or fail to be thankful for His blessings showed upon us through the Holy Spirit.

One important benefit received from God is the forgiveness of our sins and healing. The fall of Adam into sin led the human race into the universal experience of sin, sickness, and death. In contrast, the Psalmist lists God's blessings for His people: forgiveness our sins, healing for our diseases, and the gift of redemption and eternal life. Forgiveness is the first and most significant gift we receive from God. Through it we are restored to God and redeemed from destruction (vs. 4). Healing of diseases that come to us because of sin and Satan is likewise part of the salvation that God makes available to His people. So, we must give thanks to God for being recipient of these blessings.
MEDITATION
*Thanksgiving expresses your gratitude to God.
*Giving thanks is commanded by God.

*THANK THE LORD-3*
READING: PSALM 103:13-17
LIFE VERSE: "But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear Him, and His righteousness unto children's children." Vs.17

We give thanks to the LORD because He shows mercy to those who truly fear Him. The fear of God is a redeeming fear that motivates us to turn away from evil, to keep God's precepts, and to seek the Lord's nearness and grace. The blessings God gives to those who fear Him are:
(1) His mercy, loving kindness, and forgiveness ( vs. 11-12, 17); (2) His fatherly love and compassion ( vs. 13-14); and (3) His faithfulness and goodness to their children ( vs. 17).
God pities His children because He knows their weaknesses and infirmities. Even the best of His followers stand in need of His compassion. As a father has deep compassion for his children when they fail, suffer, or are mistreated, so also the heavenly Father hurts when His own are hurting. Beloved believers, in the midst of trouble, failure, and struggle, we must not think that God is aloof or uncaring; rather, we must remember that His eyes look on us with compassion, and He will help us according to our needs.
MEDITATION
*God is always compassionate and caring for His people.
*Those who truly fear the Lord have His love and mercy.

*THANK THE LORD*
READING: 1 CHRONICLES 16:7-29
LIFE VERSE: "Give thanks unto the LORD, call upon His name, make known His deeds among the people." Vs. 8

The manner in which David celebrated God's mercy and great deeds for Israel consisted largely of thanksgiving and praise. Under the new covenant all believers have been made priests unto God and as such should offer the praise and thanksgiving to God. "By (Christ) therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to His name" (Heb. 13:15). The believer's praise and worship must be both in word and in deed(vs. 29) that are acceptable to God only as long as he or she is committed to His Word and not conformed to the world.

Our joy, security, and freedom from anxiety are dependent on our gratitude to God and our perseverance in seeking His face daily (vs.8-11). Those who continually call out to the Lord with thanksgiving can have confidence that He will walk by their side and be a present help throughout all of their life. Beloved believers, genuine paise and worship must be done in "holiness". God accepts spiritual and jubilant worship only as long as it is accompanied by an inward disposition of reverence and purity, an earnest desire to be near Him, and commitment to resist all that offends His holy nature (vs. 29). Welcome to the month of thanksgiving. May thanksgiving not cease in our lives in Jesus name. Shalom!
MEDITATION
*God deserves to be given thanks always.
*Those who constantly offer thanksgiving to God can have the assurance that He will be with them and be their present help in times of need.

*GLORY THROUGH JESUS CHRIST*
READING: ROMANS 15:14-21
LIFE VERSE: "I have therefore whereof I may glory through Jesus Christ in those things which pertain to God." Vs. 17

Apostle Paul's policy of ministry was missionary centered. He chose to direct his labours in areas where the gospel had not been preached sufficiently, thereby enabling those who had not heard to have a chance to hear and accept Christ. His ministry was accompanied with the fullness of God's blessing, power, grace, and presence. Whenever he ministered, this blessing would be imparted to other believers. We who serve God and the Church of Christ should seek the same fullness in our personal lives and ministries.
It is not wrong to speak excitedly and joyfully about what God is doing through us if it done in a spirit of humility and thankfulness to God. Glorying should not be in mere numbers, but in a ministry or service that produces obedience of faith in word and deed and that comes from a genuine work and manifestation of the Holy Spirit in power.
MEDITATION
*Believers living sacrificially in order to help others bring glory to God and strengthens His kingdom.
*Disregarding the conviction of others in order to please ourselves destroys the work of God.

*LET US NOT JUDGE ONE ANOTHER*
READING: ROMANS 14:1-13
LIFE VERSE: " Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumbling block or an occasion to fall in his brother's way." Vs. 13

A number of believers were divided over an important issue: some were eating only vegetables, while others were eating vegetables and other foods including meat (vs. 2-3). Paul stresses that eating in itself is not a moral matter, but that one's personal attitude about what to eat could lead to unjustly condemning one another.

Though we must refrain from judging one another in trivial matters, believers ought to consider how to encourage each other to true Christlikeness and holiness when it concerns faith, doctrine, and morals (Heb. 10:24). This involves sincerely evaluating (1 Thes. 5:21), correcting, rebuking one another in love and humility ( Luke 17:3) and, when necessary, exercising discipline ( 1 Cor. 5:12-13). Beloved, Paul counsels believers rather than condemn we who strong in faith should receive the weak and encourage them in the faith. What one chooses to eat should not cause dispute or division among brethren.
MEDITATION
*Believers are not to condemn anyone over trivial matters.

*PUT ON THE LORD JESUS CHRIST*
READING : ROMANS 13:8-14
LIFE VERSE: "But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfill the lusts thereof." Vs. 14

Apostle Paul believed in the imminent return of the Lord Jesus to take His faithful believers to heaven (the rapture), an event he thought could happen even in his generation. Jesus Christ warned that He would return at a time when the faithful were sure that He would not come. For this reason, God's children must always be spiritually ready and "cast off the works of darkness" (Luke 12:35).
Thus, Paul encouraged us to "put on the Lord Jesus Christ" ( Life verse).
We must be so united and identified with Him that we imitate His life as a pattern for our living, adopt His principles, obey His precepts, and become like Him. This calls for a complete rejection of immorality and the lusts of the flesh.

The "flesh" is the sinful element in human nature with its corrupt desires. It remains within the Christian after conversion and is a deadly enemy to him. Those who practice the deeds of the flesh cannot inherit the kingdom of God. Hence they must be resisted and put to death in a continual warfare that the believer wages through the Holy Spirit (Rom. 8:4-14). Beloved, Paul's final comment on the works of the flesh is stern and forceful: any so-called believers who engage in the activities of the flesh shut themselves out of the kingdom of God, i.e., they do not possess eternal salvation.
MEDITATION
*Believers must constantly put on the Lord Jesus Christ.
*Believers must continually wage war against the inclinations of the flesh because of its negative consequences.

*SUBJECT UNTO HIGHER POWERS*
READING: ROMANS 13:1-7
LIFE VERSE: "LET EVERY soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God." Vs. 1

The Christian is commanded by God to obey the state, for the state as an institution is ordained and established by God. God has instituted government because in this fallen world we need certain restraints and authority to protect us from the chaos and lawlessness that is a natural result of sin.
The civil government, as does all of life, stands under the law of God. God has ordained the state to be an agent of justice, to restrain evil by punishing the wrong doer, and to protect the good in society (vs. 3-4). Paul describes government as it should be. When it abandons its proper function, it is no longer of God nor according to His purpose. For example, when the state requires something contrary to the Word of God, the Christian must obey God rather than man (Acts 5:29).

Beloved, it is the duty of all believers to pray for those in government as commanded by God and not to indulge in cursing and abusing them. We are to stand in as agents of redemptive change for our nation and world.
MEDITATION
*The great question before every believer is not, "Is it expedient, safe, pleasurable, or popular among men?" But, "what is right in the sight of God?"

*BE KINDLY AFFECTIONATE*
READING: ROMANS 12: 9-13
LIFE VERSE: "Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another."

All those Believers who are devoted in faith to Jesus Christ must be devoted in love to one another as brothers and sisters in Christ with a sincere, kind, and tender affection. We must be concerned for our brothers' and sisters' welfare, needs, spiritual condition, sympathising with them and helping them in their difficulties and troubles. We must prefer one another in honour, that is, to show respect and honour to the quantities in other brethren.

The Christian, as he practices love towards everyone and especially towards all true believers, must never compromise the holiness of God. It is essential that love for God and His Will as revealed in His Word control and direct our love for others. Love for God must always be first.
MEDITATION
*Affection is love and God commands us to show it to others especially those in faith.
