OPEN TRUTH DEVOTIONAL – OTD!
SUNDAY, 24TH MAY, 2026.
THE COMING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
SCRIPTURE: ACTS 2:1-13
MEDITATION: ACTS 2:1-4

Happy Sunday beloved OTD reader and ECAMI Family partner! Welcome to another glorious day of the LORD and a moment of light with OTD! When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance." Moses saw the glory of the Holy Spirit in the earthly temple, how much is God’s glory evident in the temple made without hands of "living stones" - (Exodus 40:34-35). At Pentecost, the Holy Spirit indwelt the new temple, the church of the living God, and His glory is evident. Few events have affected modern church history as greatly as the famous Azusa Street revival of year 1900 to year 1909, which ushered into being the worldwide twentieth-century Pentecostal renewal. The seventy-fifth anniversary of the Azusa Street revival was commemorated in 1981. There are estimates of the number of Pentecostals and Charismatics in the world that approach the 75,000,000 mark. That would mean that roughly 1,000,000 persons per year have accepted the premises of the Los Angeles Pentecost in the years since 1906. Indeed, in 1981 Pentecost has come to Rome itself as millions of Catholic Pentecostals rejoiced in the baptism in the Holy Spirit. In 1975 over 10,000 Catholics gathered in St. Peter’s Cathedral in Rome to celebrate the Pentecost season. In a memorable service, these charismatics rejoiced as Pope Paul VI gave his endorsement to the movement. At the climax of that service thousands spoke and sang in other tongues." "In 1978 a similar Pentecostal service was conducted in Canterbury Cathedral in England. About 2,000 Spirit-filled Anglicans and Episcopalians rejoiced in the Spirit as tongues and prophecies came forth in the venerable seat of the World Anglican Communion. Archbishop Coggin addressed the Conference and spoke in glowing terms of the renewal in England. This experience or "revival" has shaped how most English speaking people read Acts chapter 2 and the references to speaking in tongues in the Bible. Let us resolve to get our views and convictions from the Bible. According to Tertullian, "Those who do not accept this volume of scripture can have nothing to do with the Holy Spirit, for they cannot know if the Holy Spirit has yet been sent to the disciples, neither can they claim to be the church, since they cannot show when this bod was established or where it was cradled."

DEVOTIONAL PRAYER: Bless God with hymns and songs of praise! Pray as led with Acts 2:1-4. Finally, give thanks; and declare the prophetic prayers.

Merciful Father, with a grateful heart overflowing in praise and worship, I thank You for the gift and breath of life: Thank You for Your new mercies that never cease each day of my life: Thank You for Your maximum protection, victory, healing and deliverance upon me and my family: Thank You for Your abounding grace that brought me to the twenty-fourth day of the fifth month in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen - (Lamentations 3:22-23).

PROPHETIC DECLARATIONS:

1. Heavenly Father, pour out Your Spirit upon me afresh; awaken every dormant gift and fruit of the Spirit in my life, that I may serve Your kingdom with power and love in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen. (Acts 2:17–18; Galatians 5:22–23).

2. Lord Jesus, baptize me with the Holy Spirit and with fire; let Your purifying presence refine my heart and consume every fleshly desire that opposes Your will in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen. (Matthew 3:11; Acts 2:3)

3. Holy Spirit, empower my tongue to speak words of grace, faith, and life as a true witness of the gospel: Give me utterance to declare Christ clearly and courageously in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen. (Acts 2:4; Acts 1:8; Ephesians 6:19–20).

4. Holy Spirit, open supernatural doors for the gospel through me; let signs and wonders follow my ministry so many will turn to Christ in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen. (Acts 2:43; Mark 16:20).

5. Eternal Rock of Ages, break every chain of confusion, fear, and unbelief in my life and family; replace them with clarity, faith, and spiritual boldness in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen. (Acts 2:6–12; 2 Timothy 1:7).

7. Holy Father, cause the spirit of unity to prevail among Your people; let our unity of the faith in the Spirit continue to release power from above for the advancement of Your kingdom in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen. (Acts 1:14; Acts 2:1; Matthew 18:19–20).

8. Almighty God, raise up faithful labourers and leaders anointed by the Holy Spirit to shepherd, equip, and multiply disciples in truth and holiness in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen. (Acts 6:4; Ephesians 4:11–12).

9. Lord Jesus, grant me the boldness to confront sin and to stand for righteousness in my family, workplace, community, and nation, being guided always by the Spirit in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen. (Acts 4:31–33; Romans 1:16).

10. Holy Spirit, release supernatural wisdom and the spirit of excellence in me so as to manifest God's glory for kingdom impact in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen. (Exodus 31:3–5; James 1:5).

11. God of provision, open an abundant supply for my family, ministry, and assignments; let resources flow so Your work advances without lack in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen. (Philippians 4:19; Psalm 23:1).

12. The Sovereign LORD and the God above all, let the fire of Pentecost fall in this season across cities and nations; send revival that turns many hearts to Jesus and establish Your church in power in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen. (Acts 2:1–4; Joel 2:28–29).

OPEN TRUTH DEVOTIONAL – OTD!
SATURDAY, 23RD MAY, 2026.
FAITHFUL TO FINISH
SCRIPTURE: ACTS 20:17-38
MEDITATION: 2 TIMOTHY 4:6-8

Happy weekend beloved OTD reader and ECAMI Family partner! Welcome to another great day and moment of joy with OTD! Beloved, as a reminder of the need to be faithful in service till the end, the record-breaking feat of a 31-year-old pastor in Mount Dora, Florida; is worth publishing. The young man set the record for the longest sermon ever preached. Pastor Zach Zehnder, a 31‑year‑old at The Cross Church (also known as theCross) in Mount Dora, Florida, attempted and then broke the Guinness World Record for the “longest speech” by preaching a continuous sermon for 53 hours and 18 minutes, from Friday, November 7, to Sunday, November 9, 2014. This event was not just a publicity stunt; it was a highly structured endurance effort tied to a clear spiritual and charitable goal. Zehnder began his talk at 7:00 a.m. on Friday, November 7, 2014, and finished at 7:32 a.m. on Sunday, November 9, totaling 53 hours and 18 minutes. During that time he preached 44–45 of his own sermons, moving sequentially from Genesis to Revelation with more than 600 PowerPoint slides in the background. To qualify for Guinness World Records, he had to speak continuously to at least 10 people present at all times. Take only tightly monitored short breaks (about five minutes every hour) while still technically “on the clock” and in full view of independent witnesses. The sermon marathon was designed to raise money for a new nonprofit that provides free alcohol and drug‑addiction treatment services, a cause close to the church’s mission. Pledges and donations linked to the event reportedly brought in over 100,000 dollars, significantly amplifying the impact beyond the record itself. Zehnder’s overarching theme was “divine faithfulness,” tracing how God remains faithful through the entire biblical narrative from creation to the New Testament. By preaching 45 previously prepared sermons in sequence, he effectively offered a condensed “Bible overview” tour, emphasizing continuity and consistency in God’s character and promises. Though widely reported as the “longest sermon ever,” Guinness officially classifies the feat as the “Longest Speech Marathon” by an individual, not a separate “sermon” category. Zehnder surpassed the prior record of 48 hours and 31 minutes, which had been held by a political speaker, by about 4.5 hours. Aftermath and legacy. The event brought national Christian‑media coverage and helped publicize both The Cross Church and the addiction‑treatment nonprofit it supported. It also sparked discussion among pastors and theologians about the balance between publicity, endurance, and the core purpose of preaching leading to reflections on what “faithfulness” in ministry looks like beyond record‑breaking feats.

DEVOTIONAL PRAYER: Bless God with hymns and songs of praise! Pray as led with Acts 20:18-24. Finally, give thanks; and declare the prophetic prayers.

Heavenly Father, with a merry heart overflowing in praise and worship, I thank You for the gift and breath of life: Thank You for Your unfailing mercies that never cease each day of my life: Thank You for Your protection, provision, healing and deliverance upon me and my family: Thank You for Your abounding grace that brought me to the twenty-third day of the fifth month in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen - (Lamentations 3:22-23).

PROPHETIC DECLARATIONS:

1. Heavenly Father, let my life be a home of faithfulness, where Your Word is preached with power, and my family walks in obedience to You in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen - (Joshua 24:15; Acts 16:31).

2. Holy Spirit of the living God, break every chain of fear, anxiety, and despair that seeks to paralyze my heart, and clothe me with the mind of Christ that brings peace and courage in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen - (2 Timothy 1:7; Philippians 4:6–7).

3. Everlasting Father, let Your supernatural supply overflow in my life so that my personal responsibilities do not become an instrument of bo***ge to fulfilling my divine assignments: Let all things continue to serve as stepping stones into greater testimonies of Your faithfulness in my life and family in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen - (Philippians 4:19; Psalm 23:1).

4. Faithful Father, let all my past ugly experiences refine me leading to a life of praise, and let every story of trials and trouble of the past turn into a testimony of deliverance and victory in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen - (Psalm 107:1–3; Isaiah 61:7).

5. My Abba, My Father, let my life be marked by supernatural peace so that my steps and decisions are guided by Your Spirit, and let Your healing hand bring all-round healing and restore my health in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen - (Psalm 4:8; 3 John 1:2).

6. Merciful Father, let there be a great order of open doors in my life, family, business, career, and ministry, leading to breakthroughs, and divine connections for greater impact in Your kingdom all through this season and beyond in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen - (Proverbs 18:16; Psalm 75:6–7).

7. Eternal Father of glory, I declare by the established word: I shall not bow to circumstances, but will continue to lead a continual life of praise and thanksgiving in my all areas of my life in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen - (1 Thessalonians 5:18; Psalm 34:1–3).

OPEN TRUTH DEVOTIONAL – OTD!
FRIDAY, 22ND MAY, 2026.
BEYOND RECORD-BREAKING
SCRIPTURE: 1 CORINTHIANS 4:1-12
MEDITATION: HEBREWS 3:1-6

Greetings of grace beloved OTD reader and ECAMI Family partner! Welcome to another wonderful day and moment of peace with OTD! A 31-year-old pastor in Mount Dora, Florida, set the record for the longest sermon ever preached. Pastor Zach Zehnder of Cross Church began his quest on Friday, November 7th, and by Sunday, November 9th; had preached for 53 hours and 18 minutes. I have to assume he has no deacons at Cross Church, or they would have pulled the plug after an hour. During the two-and-a-half day homiletical marathon, Zehnder preached through 45 of his own sermons and displayed more than 600 PowerPoint slides as he moved from Genesis to Revelation, highlighting the theme of divine faithfulness. Personally, I would say, having a church put up with a 53-hour message is a sparkling example of congregational faithfulness. According to the Broward New Times, "To comply with Guinness World Record rules, Zehnder had to speak before a minimum of 10 people the entire time, and there had to be two independent witnesses to sign off on its validity and monitor his break times. To ensure these rules were met, church members formed groups to help out and rotated shifts, moving in and out in groups of 10. Some spectators stayed nearly as long as Pastor Zehnder. Toward the end of the event, hundreds of community members came to see him complete his speech marathon." The sermonic display was done as a fund-raising event to raise money for a local recovery ministry. (In my past churches, I suspect the folks would have given money to have me preach shorter, not longer.) In addition to whatever spiritual benefit may have come from the lengthy message, the record-breaking sermon raised more than $100,000 for the local charity and drew national news attention. This got me thinking: What other record-breaking attempts could be made by preachers? The most fried chicken consumed at a church supper. The most irrelevant stories packed into a single sermon. The most "And finally" references included in a message before actually stopping. The most deacons packed into a church courtyard to catch a last-minute smoke before the service begins. The longest sermon introduction before actually beginning the body of the message. The most points packed into a single sermon outline. (The record I have heard so far is 27. Trust me, you are just as happy not having heard it yourself). So get ready, Guinness Book of World Records people. We believers are just getting started.

DEVOTIONAL PRAYER: Bless God with hymns and songs of praise! Pray as led with Hebrews 3:1-6. Finally, give thanks; and declare the prophetic prayers:

Holy Father, with a grateful heart overflowing in praise and worship, I thank You for the gift and breath of life: Thank You for Your new mercies each day of my life that endures forever: Thank You for Your faithfulness in all things and Your compassion towards me and my family: Thank You for Your grace that enabled me to see the twenty-second day of the fifth month in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen - (Lamentations 3:22-23).

PROPHETIC DECLARATIONS:

1. Holy Father, rekindle my zeal for the Word so that I will hunger for truth rather than spectacle, and let my preaching of the Word bring forth lasting fruit, not just applause in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen - (2 Timothy 4:2; Luke 8:15).

2. Gracious Father, help me prize faithfulness over fame, and let my life reflect the heart of a faithful servant who endures suffering for the sake of Christ, not for human reward in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen - (1 Corinthians 4:1–2; Matthew 20:26–28).

3. Merciful Father, break every spirit of burnout and frustration in my ministry, and renew my strength so that I will not faint in the race but run with endurance until the end in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen - (Hebrews 12:1; Isaiah 40:31).

4. Holy Spirit of the living God, let every record‑breaking effort in my life be for the advancement of Your kingdom and the salvation of souls, not for self‑glory or personal ambition in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen - (Matthew 6:33; 1 Corinthians 10:31).

5. Righteous Father, empower me to preach and live by the cross so that my life becomes a testimony of sacrificial love that draws many to Christ in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen - (Galatians 6:14; 1 Corinthians 1:23).

6. My Lord, my God; let the challenges in my journey of life cause me to trust you more and draw closer to You: Let every trial take me deeper into your presence and increase my faith leading to a life of all-round fruitfulness in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen - (Romans 5:3–4; James 1:2–4).

7. Almighty Father, shield me from the temptation to seek human records or applause, and instead fill me with a hunger for the praise that comes from You alone in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen - (John 12:43; Colossians 3:23).

OPEN TRUTH DEVOTIONAL – OTD!
THURSDAY, 21ST MAY, 2026.
TURN YOUR PRESSURE TO PRAISE (2)
SCRIPTURE: PSALM 107:17-32
MEDITATION: PSALM 113:1-9

Greetings of grace beloved OTD reader and ECAMI Family partner! Welcome to another wonderful day and moment of truth with OTD! When you are facing deadlines at work and the pressure is on, turn around and give a shout of praise. Listen to me, the greater your pressure, the greater your praise. The more stress you have, the more energy you need to release. The more trouble you are facing, the more you need to cry out to God. If your situation is ever going to change, you have to learn to turn your pressure into praise. If your midnight is to ever turn into day, you have to learn to turn your pressure into praise. If your mourning is to ever turn into dancing, you have to learn to turn your pressure into praise. The more uncontrollable your pressure, the more radical your praise ought to be. When the pressure is so intense and you feel like you are losing your mind, go way down deep into the inner recesses of your soul and praise as if you just lost your mind. In our previous lesson, the apostle Paul recounted his hardships to the church at Corinth. In it Paul talks about the great pressure he suffered in the province of Asia, “far beyond [his] ability to endure, so that he despaired even to life. It is interesting that Paul would say that he despaired even to life because in 2 Corinthians 4:8, he proclaimed: “We are pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair.” So which is it Paul? Are you in despair or not? Well, obviously Paul’s situation did not change, but his outlook did. Indeed, by the time we get to the 4th chapter of his letter to the Corinthians, Paul had learned how to turn his pressure into praise. There are three things that we need to know about turning our pressures into praise:
1. We must look up to God in prayer even in the midst of the pressure. That is what the King did for Daniel in the lion’s den - (Daniel 6:18-23), and the 3 Hebrew boys in the fiery furnace - (Daniel 3:23-30)... Continue reading OTD and pray as directed via our Ministries page:

That is what the King did for Daniel in the lion’s den - (Daniel 6:18-23), and the 3 Hebrew boys in the fiery furnace - (Daniel 3:23-30). That is what the Israelites also did when they were faced with the Red Sea in front of them and Pharaoh’s army - (Exodus 15:1-21).
2. We must give thanks to God every day for everything. Some pressures are designed to keep us holy. Pressures keep us on our knees. The greater the pressure the greater the breakthrough - (1 Thessalonians 5:18).
3. We must use our praise as a release valve to let off the steam of pressure that has been building up in our lives - (Psalm 119:164).
Throughout the book of Psalms, God’s people are exhorted to shout to the Lord. When the children of Israel marched around Jericho they were told to shout to the Lord on the seventh time, and then the wall came crumbling down - (Joshua 6:15-21).

Declare: Today, I promise to praise the LORD without limit: And as I glorify the God of my praise, whatever represents the wall of Jericho against me falls down never to rise again.

DEVOTIONAL PRAYER: Bless God with hymns and songs of praise! Pray as led with Isaiah 61:10-11. Finally, give thanks; and declare the prophetic prayers.

Heavenly Father, with great pleasure and a merry heart overflowing in praise and worship, I thank You for the gift and breath of life: Thank You for Your enduring mercies, unending faithfulness, and great compassion to see the twenty-first day of the fifth month in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen - (Lamentations 3:22-23).

PROPHETIC DECLARATIONS:

1. Sovereign God, break every spirit of fear, depression and despair that pressure seeks to birth in me; clothe me with hope and a future, and lead me into paths of life, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen. (2 Timothy 1:7; Jeremiah 29:11).

2. Jehovah-Jireh, let Your provision meet every need so that bills and obligations do not become engines of bo***ge; cause resources to flow and unexpected blessings to arise on my behalf, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen. (Matthew 6:31–33; Philippians 4:19).

3. Mighty Deliverer, when pressure tempts me to quit or to abandon callings, strengthen my resolve and renew my covenant vision; grant me perseverance to finish well and fruitfully, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen. (Hebrews 12:1–3; Galatians 6:9).

4. Lord of Compassion, grant me supernatural peace in restless seasons so sleep and health are preserved; protect my heart and body from stress-induced sickness and bring restoration, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen. (Psalm 4:8; 3 John 1:2).

5. God of Breakthrough, send divine strategies and connections that multiply my labour; position me where favour opens doors, promotions, and partnerships that relieve pressure and expand my influence, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen. (Proverbs 18:16; Psalm 75:6–7).

6. King of Glory, let my response to pressure be praise so that every accusation, shame, and reproach is turned into honor; let testimony rise from places of trial and produce harvests for Your kingdom, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen. (Psalm 107:19–21; Isaiah 61:7).

7. Eternal Father, I declare I will not bow to anxiety or be controlled by circumstances; empower me to lift a continual song of thanksgiving and watch as You convert pressure into promotion, peace, and praise, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen. (1 Thessalonians 5:18; Psalm 34:1–3).

OPEN TRUTH DEVOTIONAL – OTD!
WEDNESDAY, 20TH MAY, 2026.
TURN YOUR PRESSURE TO PRAISE (1)
SCRIPTURE: 2 CORINTHIANS 1:1-11
MEDITATION: PSALM 107:1-16

Greetings of love beloved OTD reader and ECAMI Family partner! Welcome to another great day and moment of grace with OTD! The pressures of life should complel us to praise God with more passion. Have you ever been under pressure? I mean, real pressure. The type that makes you sweat and keeps you up all through the night. Commentary by OTD partner, Dieuner Joseph - "I had a friend who used to be a vice-principal of an elementary school. His boss was about 50 year old single woman with a Napoleon complex. This brother was so stressed out at work that one day he had an anxiety attack and had to be rushed to the ER. When I was at Princeton seminary, the pressure was so intense to the point I develop a heart condition. There are many people who are walking around with heart conditions because of the pressure they have to deal with. These persons cannot enjoy their family and friends because of the pressure. They cannot have effective and meaningful relationships because of the pressure. They cannot be fully engaged in God’s kingdom affairs because of the pressure. They cannot enjoy their God-given rights of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness because of the pressure they experience. Pressure has caused a lot of individuals to commit su***de. It has led to a lot of divorces. A lot of pastors have quit the ministry because of the pressure. Intrinsic pressure is parts and parcel of our nature as human beings. And it doesn’t help that we live in a very fast paced, fast food, instant gratification, and what is next society. As a matter of fact, more and more people are becoming depressed due to social pressures like, pressure to get married, pressure to be rich, pressure to be the best, and pressure to have the latest. Pressure at school, pressure in the home, pressure at work, and pressure to pay bills. With all these things that some of us are dealing with, it is no wonder why there is road rage, spousal abuse, robbery, and violence. And since we can’t avoid the pressures of life anyway, I believe there is a way to make the best out of our pressures: To turn them into praise." Well, when you approach the last week of the month and the pressure for paying those bills are choking you, take all that pent up energy, all that pressure, and begin to praise God for His favour and breakthrough that will follow after the heat of the pressure. In all, always praise and dance in order to bring down the wall of debt, dissapointment, and pain. Even though I know the issues of life are still waiting for me to deal with, I have to confront the challenges and turn them into praise. So please, if you see me praising the Lord like a madman; you don’t know how much pressure I have to deal with. Please excuse me if you see tears coming down my face as I worship my Saviour, I am not sad. I am just letting off some steam. At the end of the day, I may not be able to prevent the pressures of life from invading my world, but sure enough my praise can control what I do with those pressures.

Declare: Today, I refuse to bow and no more to be controlled by the issues of life: As I am going to turn the pressures that come my way into praise.

DEVOTIONAL PRAYER: Bless God with hymns and songs of praise! Pray as led with Isaiah 61:10-11. Finally, give thanks; and declare the prophetic prayers.

Almighty Father, with joy and gladness in my heart, overflowing in praise and worship; I thank You for the gift and breath of life: Thank You Father for Your sure mercies: Thank You Father for the victory and secret battles you fought for me: Thank you Father, for Your protection and provision: Thank You for the great grace that made me to see the twentieth day of the fifth month in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen - (Lamentations 3:22-23).

PROPHETIC DECLARATIONS:

1. Everlasting Father, when pressure surrounds me like a storm, cause Your comfort to rise and steady my heart so I will not be shaken; let Your peace guard my mind and turn my anxiety into worship, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen. (Philippians 4:6–7).

2. Merciful God, by Your grace release supernatural strength into my inner man so that the pressures meant to crush me will instead refine me for greater purpose; as my trials are turned into testimonies for Your glory, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen. (James 1:2–4).

3. Almighty God, when the pressures and burdens for provision press upon me, open doors of supernatural supply and make a way where there seems to be none; let favour locate me and break every chain of lack, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen. (Philippians 4:19; Isaiah 43:19).

4. Holy Spirit, anoint me with the spirit of boldness and gladness so as to worship in the midst of challenges; let my praise be the weapon of victory that destroy fear and scatter every demonic assignment sent to frustrate me, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen. (Isaiah 61:3; Psalm 149:6–9).

5. Righteous Father, give me wisdom and discernment under pressure to make right decisions, and walk in the direction that leads to multiplication, increase, and abundance, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen. (James 1:5; Proverbs 15:22).

6. Gracious Father, replace my weariness with renewed joy and rest; restore my strength like the eagle’s and enable me to run and not faint, even in seasons of pressure and uncertainty, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen. (Isaiah 40:31).

7. Faithful Father, by Your Spirit order my steps and protect my household from the operations of the wicked one; heal our diseases, establish your word and fulfill your promise to keep enjoying the abundance of Your goodness, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen. (Ephesians 4:31–32; Psalm 147:3).
