Therefore, Christians are implored not to think there experience of troubles, trials, tribulations, persecution, hunger, or desperate needs are strange. These things doesn't mean that we are deserted by God, nor He had stopped loving us. On the contrary, our suffering as God's people will open up ways for us to experience more of God's love and comfort. Apostle Paul assures us that in all these adversities we will overcome and triumphant through faith and our relationship with Christ Jesus (2cor.1:4-5).
To this end, Jesus Christ came in order to reconcile man with God when we were still far off, when the world was in tribulations, He came to comfort us. On His way back to the Father, he promised a comforter who will also continue from where He stopped. " Ye shall receive power when the holy Spirit comes upon you; you shall be my witness in Judea, samaria and in uttermost part of the world"(Acts 1:8).
Happy Sunday to you all.
Your Vicar and friend,
The Rev'd Adeyemo Moses.

3rd May,2020
3rd Sunday after Easter
Theme: Jesus, The comforter
Introduction: The word comfort derived its origin from the Greek word "Paraklesis" meaning, to stand beside a person, encouraging and helping him or her in a time of trouble. God fulfills the role on the highest level by sending His only begotten son to this world for the work of salvation in every facet of life ( i.e preaching the gospel to the poor, to heal the broken hearted, to deliver people from captivity and restoration Luke 4:18-19). And in continuation the holy Spirit to comfort the children of God ( John 14:16).
Paul has learned in his many troubles that no suffering, no matter how severe can separate those who follow Jesus Christ from the care and compassion of their father ( Romans 8:35-39). God occasionally permits trouble in our lives so that we can learn to depend on Him and so we may better understand how to comfort others in there troubles.
Throughout Paul's letters to the Corinthians church, stresses that the Christian like includes both suffering and comfort of Christ, often at same time. Suffering for the cause of Christ allows us to better relate to Him " A Man of sorrows and familiar with suffering". But for every degree of suffering we face as we follow Christ, the greater the comfort He provide as we depend on Him. That is why we often have the greatest sense of God's presence as we go through extremely difficult times. Just as Jesus endured the supreme suffering in giving His life for our offenses against God, He continue to share the pain and difficulty His people endured as sin continues to take its tragic toll on the world ( Matt.25:42-45). Our suffering is not necessarily because of our disobedience or wrongdoing in our part, but often a result of satanic work and the world opposition to Jesus and the followers. Even resistance from false believers can cause grieves for the true Christians as they pursue God's purpose and share in the cause of Christ.

2nd APRIL
THEME: WE ARE REDEEMED
TEXT: NEHEMIAH 1:10-16
"Now these are your servant and your people whom you have redeemed by your great power and by your strong hand."
Strong intercession is based on awareness of the sovereignty of God, who acts according to his promises (NEH 1:8-9) When one confesses sin with true remorse and depends completely on God's mercy. God has gone before to put his man in the right place at the right time. The cup bearer was responsible to select and serve the wine, taste it to be sure it was not poisoned, and be a tactful companion to the king. As the latter, he often offered informal counsel and enjoyed the kings confidence. So same way we have come to the Lord this morning as the redeemed and elect, to present our supplications unto him the author and finisher of our faith. "To please hearken to the prayers of the faithful and servants who desire to fear your name, let our nation be rescue and delivered from the assault of the CORONA virus and grant us mercy from the throne of grace through Christ our Lord. AMEN. (NEH 1:10-11).
GOOD AFTERNOON AND HAPPY THURSDAY.
YOUR VICAR AND FRIEND.

TOPIC:CALL UPON ME
TEXT: JEREMIAH 33:3
INTRODUCTION: The positive assurance from God is that when we call upon him he will answer us in a way that will astound us (Ps 4:3, 18:6, MATT. 7:7)
Now to call to someone, cry out, to address someone, to shout, or speak out, to proclaim. The Hebrew word "QARA" often describes calling out loudly in an attempt to get someone attention.( ISA 58:1), Or to calling upon the lord or his name (Isa 55:6, Joel 2:32). Sometimes QARA means "TO NAME SOMETHING" That is to call by his name, as God did when he called the light day and darkness night (Gen 1:5). Similarly QARA involves the naming places holidays or children; for example, Leah Praise the lord for the birth of her son,and called his name JUDAH (Gen 29:35). This word QARA appears in the holy scriptures more than 700 times.
The important thing to us in this passage is, God promised Jeremiah that if he would call to him, not only would he answer him,but he would reveal to him great and mighty things. That could not otherwise be known. The word mighty in Hebrew means "BATSAR" is better rendered "Isolated' or "Inaccessible". The suggestion is that God will give Jeremiah revelational insight revealing things that otherwise would be inaccessible or isolated. Such revelational insight always has been essential for a clear understanding of victorious spiritual welfare. One cannot pray effectively without insight into how to pray, As well as into what things God truly longs for us to seek after in prayer.
Therefore, you and i are asked to call upon God at this very period of this global pandemic with insistent asking without qualms, not commanding God but solidly presenting our requisition with total humility.
1. make our prayer earnest and that we are willing to obey God and pursue his purposes when he responds with an answer or instruction.
2. Keep asking until your prayer is fully answered even after he has answer we continue thanking him for more.
3. Keeping our priority in focus.
4. Recognizing Gods fatherly goodness and love (Matt 7:7, 6:8, 7:11, John 15:16, 16:23, and Col 1:9-12)
5. Maintain communication and friendship with Christ Jesus( John 15:7)
LET US PRAY
Almighty God, you have promised to answer us when we when we pray in faith especially at any point of our calling; at a period like this when the whole world is in trouble of corona virus pandemic,Let your ears be open o lord to the cry of your people and bring succor to our anguish, peace to the world particularly our nation Nigeria, restoration of our lost glory. Grant us faith that we may be counted among the favored nations through the merit of our lord and saviour Jesus Christ. AMEN.
STAY HOME AND STAY SAFE.
