PRAY FOR YOUR PASTORS

Brethren, pray for us
(1 Thessalonians 5:25).

In the book of Acts, the Bible tells us how King Herod had the Apostle James put to death by the sword (Acts 12:1-2). He found that this pleased the Jews and he apprehended Peter also with a plan to have him killed.

When James was arrested and killed, the church hadn’t understood the importance of intercession. Upon Peter’s arrest, however, they immediately realized that they had serious business to attend to. The Bible says “… but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him” (Acts 12:5). The church prayed without ceasing. They needed to have a change and they got it.

Sometimes, I wonder how many people pray for their pastors and leaders. It’s really important to do this. You have to pray for them because you need them. The Lord put them there to help you and train you in the things of the Spirit.

The Apostle Paul wrote in Hebrews 13:18, “Pray for us: for we trust we have a good conscience, in all things willing to live honestly.” Why did he say, “Pray for us?” As you study more of the Scriptures, you’ll find there were 2 reasons.

The first reason was so that utterance would be given unto him to boldly make known the mystery of the Gospel (Ephesians 6:19). The second reason was because the Church needed him. In praying and interceding for him, he would be retained for their benefit because he said, “For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better: Nevertheless to abide in the flesh is more needful for you” (Philippians 1:23-24).

Imagine if Paul had passed on earlier than he did, with all the wonderful revelations God gave him. The world and the Church would have lost so much. They however prayed, and Paul gloriously finished his course.

That’s why he could say in Acts 20:26-27, “Wherefore I take you to record this day, that I am pure from the blood of all men, for I have no

“For we are God’s [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live].”

LET’S TALK
Do you know there’s a purpose for your life? Several years ago, the Lord told me that one of the most important things for men to do is discover their purpose and fulfil it, but most never do. Therefore, they live empty lives, never realising that there is a divine plan for them.

A generic purpose for all of God’s children is that we were born for His glory; we were born to walk with God and bring Him honour. Beyond that, however, there’s a specific purpose for which you were created and placed on this earth. And it is in fulfilling that purpose that you truly bring glory and honour to God.

God doesn’t just do things; He has a purpose for everything. He has a purpose for the world, and He sure has a purpose for your life. If you haven’t discovered that specific purpose, you can today. Be bold to ask the Lord, and He’ll tell you. Sometimes, He’ll speak expressly, as He did to Paul the Apostle (read Acts 26:13–16).

Other times, He’ll guide you into it, and every day, you’ll discover more and more of His purpose for your life as you walk by faith in accordance with His Word in all things.

To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.
Colossians 1:27

David, Moses, Elijah, Deborah, and other great men and women in the Bible did mighty things for the Lord. Do you know why? It’s because God’s presence was with them. God’s presence turned them from ordinary people to extraordinary persons.

As God’s child, you have something more precious than them all. Yes, you do! You have the Holy Spirit, not just with you, but inside you! Isn’t that beautiful? Christ in you makes you a thousand times bigger on the inside, and a superman!

So, go about your activities today joyfully, knowing that you’re more than a man because Christ is in you! Hallelujah!

(The Lord Has Presented His Blood To The Father For Us)

TO THE BIBLE
Hebrews 9:24 TPT
“For the Messiah did not enter into the earthly tabernacle made by men, which was but an echo of the true sanctuary, but he entered into heaven itself to appear before the face of God in our place.”

LET’S TALK
John 20:1-18 tells us the story of the first appearance of the risen Lord. After Jesus was crucified and buried, Mary Magdalene went to the tomb on the third day to anoint His body with spices (Read Mark 16:1-8). When she arrived at the tomb, she found that the stone covering the entrance had been rolled away. Rattled, Mary ran to tell Peter and John, two of Jesus’ disciples, that someone had taken the body of the Master.

The Bible records for us in the eleventh verse of John 20 that after Peter and John left, Mary stayed at the tomb, weeping. As she turned to leave, she saw a man standing there, whom she did not recognise (the man was Jesus). He asked her why she was crying, and she again explained that someone had taken away Jesus’ body.

At that moment, the Master called her by name, “Mary,” and she realised that it was Jesus Himself. Overjoyed, Mary turned, perhaps to hug Him, but He instructed her not to touch Him, and told her why: “…Do not cling to Me, for I have not yet ascended to My Father; but go to My brethren and say to them, ‘I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to My God and your God’” (John 20:17).

This means that before meeting with the disciples in Galilee and before anyone could touch Him, He would have ascended to the Father as our High Priest and presented His blood. Whereas the priests of the Old Testament had to offer sacrifices year after year for a yearly atonement, Jesus did it once and obtained eternal redemption for mankind.

INCREASE YOUR FAITH

For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith.
Romans 12:3

Do you know as God’s child you have faith? Yes, you do. So, you don’t need to fast, pray or beg God for faith, for He’s already given you the measure of it (Romans 12:3).

Now, it’s up to you to grow and increase it! How do you grow your faith? It’s simply by listening to God’s Word and acting on it. For example, if you heard God’s Word on divine health, but you’re feeling feverish, you’ll act on the Word by declaring health to your body.

As you listen to God’s Word, either as you study your Bible, Rhapsody of Realities for Early Readers, or during fellowship meetings, act on what you’ve learnt. This is how to increase your faith. Praise God!

I affirm that I am a financial victor, I command money to accomplish any desired project and it hears my voice. I am not financially hesitant, any amount I need, I call it forth and it manifests speedily. God has made me a king therefore I rule and reign over any money matter coming out victorious in all instances. No amount of money is too big for me to handle, the Lord has blessed me with great financial capacity. I give relevance to my money, making use of it in the House of God. I am a great sponsor of the Gospel, the message is reaching far and distant lands by my finances. Hallelujah! I am an associate of the God-kind, and I have the indestructible life of God in me. My body is impervious to every form and manner of sickness or disease. I live in perpetual health and walk in the greater light of the new creation in Christ.

I affirm that Christ is alive in me—in every fibre of my being, every bone of my body, and every cell of my blood. I’m living the supernatural life, naturally, because Christ is in me. I'm strengthened with the strength of God, and with joy, I draw water from the wells of salvation, because the joy of the Lord is my strength. My life is improved and upgraded by the power of God's Word. The Spirit of God has granted me divine insight into the Father's perfect will in all things. I have an unction from the Holy One! That anointing is working in my body, finances, career, family, and all that concerns me. The anointing of God's Spirit sets me apart for greatness, causing me to spread and make progress on every side. Hallelujah! I have an understanding heart; for the eyes of my understanding have been enlightened to know the hope of God’s calling, and the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints. I prosper and excel in all things as I meditate on the Word, and act on it.

ENERGIZING YOUR SPIRIT

Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands (2 Timothy 1:6).

When Paul told Timothy to stir up the gift of God in him, he was referring to the power of the Holy Spirit—the dynamic ability to effect changes. This was the same power Jesus talked about when He said, “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you…” (Acts 1:8).

If you’ve received the Holy Spirit, that power resides in you. That power can however be dormant unless activated, and the quickest way to activate it is by speaking in other tongues. 1 Corinthians 14:4 says, “He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself....” As you speak in other tongues, not only are you building yourself, you’re also energizing yourself in the supernatural; you’re stirring up divine power from within to effect changes in every area of your life.

The glory of God is revealed in your life as you charge yourself up in the spirit and stir up the power of God inside you. In Ephesians 3:16, we see the Spirit’s desire for God’s people to be invigorated with miracle-working ability by the Holy Ghost; praying in tongues can make that happen for you.

Praying in other tongues also energizes your faith. The Bible says in Jude 1:20, “But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost.” Faith comes to you when you hear the Word of God. The more you hear the Word, the higher your faith goes. However, you sustain yourself at the highest peak of faith by praying in other tongues.

PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank you for your glory that’s manifested in my life today as I speak in other tongues. Your power in me is activated, energizing me to walk in divine wisdom, make progress, and rise higher and higher like an edifice, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

WHY WE GIVE
(God Gave His Very Best, Will You?)

TO THE BIBLE:
John 3:16
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”

LET’S TALK
At the end of her Sunday message, a pastor prompted the congregation to give their offerings, either online or in the collection bag. Sitting together, two friends had contrasting reactions to her words. One exclaimed, “I’m excited to give my offering today!” while the other pondered, “Do I have to give an offering every time?” Which friend reacted appropriately? Clearly, the first one.

“Why should we give?” you might wonder. We give for soul-winning and for the establishment of God’s righteousness in the earth and in the hearts of men. In 2 Corinthians 9:7-10, the Spirit, through the Apostle Paul, emphasised how giving is directly connected to righteousness.

A true giver is concerned about the spread of the Gospel to all people and the reign of God’s righteousness on earth. Therefore, do all you can, and more, to support and promote the spread of the Gospel around the world.

Also, learn to be extravagant about your giving. God showed us the perfect example: He gave His very best—His Son Jesus Christ—for the salvation of mankind, showing that the true value of a human soul is Jesus. The whole world is nothing compared to the value of a human soul. No wonder the Lord Jesus said, “…What does it benefit a person to gain the whole world, and forfeit his soul? For what could a person give in exchange for his soul?” (Mark 8:36-37 NASB).

Knowing this, therefore, commit yourself and your resources to soul-winning. Let the spread of the Gospel around the world become your heartbeat. Be radical in your commitment to Christ and His cause, and live for Him wholly and truly. Hallelujah!

YOU CAN TRUST HIM

Do not put your trust in princes, nor in a son of man, in whom there is no help. (Psalm 146:3)

God knows everything. The Bible says nothing is hidden from Him. He knows the things you need, and He knows how to get them across to you. He is that big! He knows all you need to live a great, and successful life.

That’s why everyone who trusted Him with their lives in the Bible had a great life. Was it Abraham, Moses, David or the Apostles? They all had beautiful lives till the end!

You can trust Him with your life too, and He’ll make your life glorious: He’ll make you dwell in prosperity, peace and safety. Glory to God!
