• To be on fire for God means having a deep, active, and strong passion for your faith. It means your love for God is bright and alive, and it guides the way you live, talk, and treat others every single day.

John 2:17
17 His disciples remembered that it is written: "Zeal for your house will consume me."
NIV

NIV

Matt 6:9-10
"'Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, 10 your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
NIV

Heb 10:7-9
7 Then I said, 'Here I am — it is written about me in the scroll — I have come to do your will, O God.'" 8 First he said, "Sacrifices and offerings, burnt offerings and sin offerings you did not desire, nor were you pleased with them" (although the law required them to be made). 9 Then he said, "Here I am, I have come to do your will." He sets aside the first to establish the second.
NIV

14. He is never discouraged by adverse circumstances or challenges. Every challenge strengthens and deepens his love and commitment to God.

Rom 8:35-39
35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? 36 As it is written:
"For your sake we face death all day long;
we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered."
37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
NIV

Apostle Paul is a typical example of a man on fire for God who did not allow what he suffered to weaken his love and zeal for God. (You can read for details of Paul’s experience and reactions to it and be challenged – 2 Cor 11:21-33; Phil 3:10-11).

I pray that the Lord will set you on fire for Himself and that you will burn daily for Him despite your life challenges in Jesus name.

A LONGING IN MY HEART

Psalms 122:1
1. I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the LORD.
KJV

Psalms 84:1-2,10
1. How amiable are thy tabernacles, O LORD of hosts! 2. My soul longeth, yea, even fainteth for the courts of the LORD: my heart and my flesh crieth out for the living God. …… 10. For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.
KJV

Psalms 63:1-11
1. O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;
KJV

The presence of God is a real place. The Presence of God is attractive to those who love Him. My soul longs for…., my heart cries out for…, my whole being yearns for the presence of the Lord. A day in the house (presence) of God is better than a thousand days elsewhere. There is nothing to be compared to God’s presence. I will not trade it for anything else.

In the presence of God, there is fullness of joy. There is refreshing in the presence of God. In the presence of God, all my fears die. In the presence of God, all my troubles and pain are taken away. In the presence of God, there is transformation and upliftment. In the presence of God, the spirit of heaviness is replaced with the garment of praise. In the presence of God, Barriers and hindrances are removed from my path. In the presence of God, Help is released to me and my needs met.

God’s presence is adorable. It is amiable. It is a place of peace, righteousness and joy in the Holy Spirit. In the house of God, all the temples of God (believers in Jesus) meet together to worship God and in the process activate greater glory and manifestation of God’s presence, mercy, compassion, favour and grace.

I am a carrier of God’s presence and I am conscious of it. Every believer is a carrier of God’s presence. When we all meet, the atmosphere becomes charged with God’s presence and evil must flee.

IS YOUR HEART COLD TOWARDS YOUR SAVIOUR?
As a believer, if your heart is cold towards God, then something is definitely wrong with you. You need self-examination.

There must be a continuous longing for God and His presence in your heart.
• Dragging your feet to church is a sign something is wrong inside you.
• Lack of excitement to chant praises or sing and worship God is a sign your spiritual life is under serious attack.
• Coldness towards reading and studying the word of God is a sign that you need revival.
• Lack of zeal to go to the house of worship and worship your God is a sign that the hand of the devil is now upon you and you need to quickly cast it off your head and life.
• If witnessing for Jesus is no longer attractive to you as before, then you have backslidden and yet do not acknowledge it.
• If you find more happiness in the place where sin happens and you enjoy feeding your mind with sinful things, you need serious spiritual help – you need to separate yourself for some time to fast and pray to regain yourself.

RESIST THE DEVIL
1. Fight off the enemy.
2. Keep your spiritual eyes open always and keep reading your spiritual thermometer.
3. Resist the devil each time he comes against you.
4. Watch your thoughts not to allow anything that can pollute your mind and weaken your love and zeal to serve God.
5. Guard your mind. Feed it with the word of God daily, and live in the consciousness of what you learn from it.
6. Fast and pray from time to time.
7. Attend church regularly so you can encourage others and be encouraged by others.
8. Take Church Bible Studies and prayer meetings serious. They will help build you up and keep you spiritually strong, stable and active.
9. Work for the Lord – witness for Jesus and serve in one department or the other in the church.

Oh Lord, set my heart on fire for you should be your prayer daily.

I pray that your heart will be set on fire and that you will burn daily for the Master in Jesus name.

BE FERVENT IN SPIRIT SERVING THE LORD

Romans 12:11-12
11. Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. 12. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.
NIV

The phrase "be fervent in spirit serving the lord" means to serve God with intense passion, enthusiasm, and a boiling zeal, rather than with laziness or complacency. It involves living with spiritual intensity, maintaining a fervent attitude in all actions, and serving the Lord wholeheartedly in a way that demonstrates the vibrancy of one's faith.

KEY ASPECTS OF BEING FERVENT IN SPIRIT
1. Intense passion: The Greek word for "fervent" (z e ō) means to be "boiling with heat." It's a picture of spiritual intensity, earnestness, and passion for serving God.
2. Enthusiastic attitude: It means approaching your duties with a constantly boiling enthusiasm, not being lazy, sluggish, or apathetic in your spiritual life.
3. Serving the Lord: This fervor is to be directed toward serving the Lord. When you do your job with excellence and a positive attitude, it serves as a testimony to Jesus.
4. Staying energized: The command is to stay "fueled and aflame" rather than burning out, maintaining a cheerful, expectant, evangelical and dedicated spirit unto the Lord, even during difficult times.

HOW TO APPLY IT
1. In your daily life: Be diligent and enthusiastic in your work and daily activities, viewing your work as a way to serve the Lord.
2. In your spiritual life: Maintain a passionate spiritual life, resisting complacency and "lukewarmness." This involves constant prayer and fellowshipping with the brethren, working for the Lord, rejoicing in hope, and being patient through trials.
3. In your community: Show this fervor by being generous, hospitable, and acting with love and humility toward fellow believers and even those who persecute you. Evangelize your community for Jesus. Be a faithful and fervent witness for the Lord Jesus your Saviour.

SCRIPTURAL INSTRUCTION
1. Never be lacking in zeal,
2. But keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord – stay on fire and never let it go down or quench.
3. Be joyful in hope,
4. Patient in affliction,
5. Faithful in prayer.

Never allow what you experience or what life throws at you weaken your zeal or make you to become cold towards God or stop you from serving. Stay on fire always.

I pray that your fire will never go down or out in Jesus name. Remain on fire for the Lord always by the grace of God and the ministry of the Holy Spirit and the Word in Jesus name.

HONOUR THE LORD WITH YOUR WEALTH

Proverbs 3:9
9. Honour the LORD with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops;
NIV

Honour means high respect, esteem, or a personal quality of moral integrity and fine principles. (Collins Dictionary)

Honouring God with your wealth is recognizing that God is your provider who gave the connection, job and business and the strength and wisdom to work and make money, good health and supernatural support to succeed and advance in one’s career and business. It is esteeming God and showing it in the management of the money to His glory and admiration (being a good steward of the resources of God under your care). It involves sacrificing thank offering to Him.

Psalms 50:23
23. He who sacrifices thank offerings honours me, and he prepares the way so that I may show him the salvation of God."
NIV

Honouring God with your wealth means recognizing that God owns everything and using your financial resources as a faithful steward. Based on Proverbs 3:9, it involves putting God first in your finances rather than treating Him as an afterthought.

In your scale of preferences on how to spend your money, God must be considered first. God first before you start spending on other things. This is the teaching and principle of the scripture for the people of God. God must be given first attention.

Leviticus 23:10
10. Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, when ye be come into the land which I give unto you, and shall reap the harvest thereof, then ye shall bring a sheaf of the firstfruits of your harvest unto the priest:
KJV

Giving God firstfruits is honouring Him and showing your deep respect and appreciation of His participation in your life, business and career.

The subject of firstfruits is so important to God that the Lord Jesus will present to the Father 144,000 persons as firstfruits from the resurrected believers. The quality of their lives and level of consecration and commitment is so high. They are the best among the saints.

Revelation 14:1-5
1. Then I looked, and there before me was the Lamb, standing on Mount Zion, and with him 144,000 who had his name and his Father's name written on their foreheads. 2. And I heard a sound from heaven like the roar of rushing waters and like a loud peal of thunder. The sound I heard was like that of harpists playing their harps. 3. And they sang a new song before the throne and before the four living creatures and the elders. No one could learn the song except the 144,000 who had been redeemed from the earth. 4. These are those who did not defile themselves with women, for they kept themselves pure. They follow the Lamb wherever he goes. They were purchased from among men and offered as firstfruits to God and the Lamb. 5. No lie was found in their mouths; they are blameless.
NIV

Key Ways to Honour God Financially
1. Give the firstfruits: Dedicate the first and best portion of your income to God through tithes and offerings before spending on yourself.
2. Be generous to the poor: Share your resources and give to those in genuine need.
3. Practice wise stewardship: Avoid destructive debt, live with contentment, and manage your money honestly.
4. Rely on God, not money: Trust that God provides for your needs instead of placing your ultimate security in wealth.

If you will honour God with your wealth, God will return the honour with more.

Proverbs 3:10
9. Honour the LORD with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops; 10. then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine.
NIV

I pray that your money or wealth will not become your god in Jesus name. I pray that your heart will always be filled with thanksgiving and honour for the role God plays in your business, work and career in Jesus name.

BE CAREFUL WHAT AND HOW YOU THINK

Prov 4:23
23 Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life.
NIV

Proverbs 4:23
23. Above all, be careful what you think because your thoughts control your life.
ERV

A man’s thoughts influences and controls his life and shapes him continually. Watching over our thoughts is so important because the thoughts we think influence and control the words we speak and the way we speak them (Matthew 12:34). Our thoughts influences and controls our emotions or feelings, and our actions (Proverbs 27:19).

The scripture says, “it is the wellspring of life”. Which means that life springs from it. It means thoughts are alive. They are living forces, and not idle things running through the mind. Thoughts become reality. They come to life. They influence and control the thinker. You and I must be careful what we think and how much time we spend thinking it. The more time you spend thinking on a thing, the more power it has over you.

Everything conceived in the mind always finds expression in our lives. A man’s life is only a reflection of his thoughts. Our emotions, words, behaviour, character are all reflections of our thoughts.

Proverbs 27:19
19. As in water face answers to face, so the mind of man reflects the man.
RSV

Matthew 15:16-20
16. Jesus said, “Do you still have trouble understanding? 17. Surely you know that all the food that enters the mouth goes into the stomach. Then it goes out of the body. 18. But the bad things people say with their mouth come from the way they think. And that’s what can make people wrong. 19. All these bad things begin in the mind: evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual sins, stealing, lying, and insulting people. 20. These are the things that make people wrong. Eating without washing their hands will never make people unacceptable to God.”
ERV

The thoughts of man has life in itself, and has the ability to become manifest. Evil thoughts will produce evil life and character (Romans 8:5; Ephesians 4:21-24). Lustful thoughts will produce immoral life. Angry thoughts will produce quarrels, fights, bitterness, hate, enmity and murder. Disappointment induced thoughts will bring discouragement, frustration, and defeat. Negative thoughts towards your partner will make your love sour and kill your marriage. Unhealthy thoughts towards your job will kill enthusiasm for your job and make you unproductive and this can lead to job loss. Unhealthy thoughts will make you sick as it destroys your health gradually.

Therefore, be careful what you give your mind to. Do not think what will weaken your love and commitment to the Lord Jesus. Do not think thoughts that will weaken your love for, or distance you from your spouse. Do not think thoughts that will make you live contrary to the word of God. Do not entertain thoughts that will weaken your faith and fill your mind with doubt and at the end deny you of the help you need from God.

Receive grace today to think always in line with the word of God in Jesus name.

DROP THE NEGATIVE WORDS

Proverbs 18:20-21
20. A man's belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; and with the increase of his lips shall he be filled. 21. Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.
KJV

Colossians 4:6
6. Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.
KJV

It is time you change your language and start speaking like someone who wants to have positive results on a daily basis. Negative words will always produce negative experiences, while, positive words will produce positive experiences. Positive words open doors, while negatives words close doors. Positive words activate and release positive energy, while negative words activate and release negative energy that eventually cause things to happen to make the negative words become reality. Positive words rooted in the scriptures move God into action to meet a need or solve a problem.

There are words or phrases that many use that work against them without them realizing it. Such words must be dropped immediately. You may have to retrain yourself on how to speak.

Common negative phrases that have to be dropped
1. “It’s not easy”.
2. “Life is not easy”, ‘life is difficult”, “Country hard”, “I am tired of life”.
3. “My sickness”, “I have malaria (or a particular sickness)” It si time you stop claiming a sickness or disease as your own property – The right language should be, “I feel sick, but I know I am well or strong in Jesus name”,
4. “I don’t have”. “I am broke” “there is no money anywhere”
5. “I have no one to help me”, “It’s not what you know but who you know”, "If you do not know anybody, you do not stand a chance”.
6. “My husband/wife will never change”, “You will never change”.
7. Telling your loved one, “You will not prosper”, “You will never make it” “basket head”, and other kinds of evil curses and statements.
8. Any statement that contradicts the teachings of the Bible should be dropped from your daily speech.

These kinds of words program evil to happen in your life and that of others. Therefore, you must do everything within your power to change your language. Give attention to what you say daily. Pray earnestly for a change to take place in your life, especially that you will control your tongue and speak wisely and positively. Do not allow your emotions to determine what you say. If feelings control your words, you will always say the wrong things. Let the spirit and the word of God influence and control your words.

I pray that you will have the courage and determination to drop negative words and statements that work against you and begin speaking positively and in accordance with the scriptures in Jesus name.

CONFESS THE WORD

2 Corinthians 4:13
13. We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak;
KJV

Positive confession is not just saying what is positive, but confessing the word of God. It is all about lending your voice to the voice of God - speaking what God has spoken. God cannot deny His word or refuse to bring it to pass. Each time you confess the word of God, you declare your faith in it, and God cannot but confirm it. The more you speak the word, the more you weaken the power of the challenge and move situations in your favour.

The more you confess the word of God, the more you condition your thoughts to see and believe the reality of the change you seek. Confession helps to strengthen your faith. As your mouth speaks, your ear hears it, and as your ear hears it, your mind thinks on it, and your faith is strengthened. Practice positive confession of the word of God daily no matter the condition you find yourself.

The word of God is the sword of the Spirit. It is the word of God that we strike the devil in a way he cannot but submit and flee.

Ephesians 6:17
17. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
NIV

Each time you quote the scripture in faith and not in fear, you turn the word into a sword that strikes deep into the devil’s heart. So, keep speaking the word of God over your life and situations. Confess it in faith and never allow the current negative reality to make you doubt it’s potency. It will bear fruit in your life. God who spoke them, is watching to bring them to pass. They will come true.

Receive grace to speak the word of God continually over your negative situations without fear and doubt and through it, change your experience in Jesus name.
