2. TO GUARD YOUR TONGUE IS TO GUARD YOUR LIFE
1 Peter 3:10-11
10 For, "Whoever would love life and see good days must keep his tongue from evil and his lips from deceitful speech. 11 He must turn from evil and do good; he must seek peace and pursue it.
NIV

If you love life and want to enjoy it, then you need to guard your tongue to make only the right things happen in your life. Words are powerful. They become reality in time. As long as you keep a watch over your mouth to make sure you only speak what is right that you want to see happen, life will be pleasant for you.

Prov 21:23
23 He who guards his mouth and his tongue keeps himself from calamity.

Set a watch over your mouth. Agree with yourself and God, that, it is not to your best interest to speak negatively under any circumstance. Agree that you need to choose your words carefully. Agree that when words are many, sin is not lacking; so, you must be a man or woman of few but wise words.

Proverbs 10:19
19. When words are many, sin is not absent, but he who holds his tongue is wise.

Guard and choose your words carefully so you don’t come to ruin. Don’t just talk, talk like a wise person. Say only what will edify and help your hearers. Speak in accordance with the word of God and the nature of Jesus Christ you now have. Speak words that will open doors for you and secure what you have going for you. Speak positively even when going through a challenge. Speak positively when trusting God for a breakthrough. Speak positively in all situations and circumstances of life. To guard your lips is to guard your life. This is so because your words shape your life since they proceed from within you.

Prov 13:3
3 He who guards his lips guards his life, but he who speaks rashly will come to ruin.

Wrong and negative words give us and our families away to the devil to oppress and afflict. There is life and death in the tongue and only those who understand it and love to make things happen as they desire make use of their mouths to speak what they want to see and not just what they are seeing that they want.

Prov 18:21
21 The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.

Always remember that what you are speaking is creating your future. There is life in your tongue and there is death in your tongue. What you stay shapes your life. Allow the word of God that you know and believe to inspire and determine what you say. To guard your tongue is to guard your life because words become reality.

I pray that your language be changed and that you will be careful to say only what you want to see and not what you are seeing that you want in Jesus name.

SEVEN WISDOM KEYS FOR A TRANSFORMED LIFE

1. YOUR LIFE IS A REFLECTION OF YOUR THOUGHTS
Prov 27:19
19 As in water face answers to face, so the mind of man reflects the man.

Transformation starts with a change of beliefs and mindset. The gospel is introduced to you and you believe, and straightaway you are given power to become a son of God. With the life of Jesus in your spirit, things start to turn around in your life. You now have power to say no to evil and yes to good. You can now resist the devil and walk in the power and authority of Jesus Christ in all things and at all times. This regeneration and transformation happened because you opened your mind to the truth of the gospel of salvation through Jesus Christ as presented to you.

As you open up more and more to the truth of God’s word and your mind is being renewed to see life through God’s eyes, your perspective to life, attitude, character, manners and general lifestyle starts changing to reflect the new knowledge you now have and have committed to walk in.

Romans 12:2
2. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Change can only happen, when your mind is renewed (perspective to life changed). You can’t be thinking like a sinner and live like a saint. You can’t be thinking like the devil and life like Jesus. You can’t be thinking like a natural man and live successfully the supernatural life the Lord Jesus has given and called you to live. You cannot be thinking immoral thoughts and live free from immorality. If you intensely think angry thoughts, it will be hard for you to forgive or control your anger. Your thoughts produce the life you live. Your life is a reflection of your thoughts. As the human face reflects on water when you look into it, so the thoughts of your mind reflect in your life – your life reflects what you are thinking inside. Your words, choices, decisions, feelings, behaviour, character, moods and health are all reflections of your thoughts.

Ephesians 4:22-24
22. You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; 23. to be made new in the attitude of your minds; 24. and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.

You must change your thoughts to change your lifestyle. In your relationships, career, business, finances, and walk with God, you must change your thoughts to see things change. Continuous renewal of the mind is non-negotiable.

Do not forget that the thoughts you think are powerful. They are alive. Life springs from it. It influences and controls your life. Your thoughts determine the choices and decisions you make and the direction you go in life. It determines how you respond and react to people and situations. Your thoughts shape your personality.

FORGIVE THAT YOU MAY BE FORGIVEN

Matthew‬ ‭6:14-15
14. For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.
‭‭‭NIV‬‬

This powerful revelation of Jesus is one of the scriptures that we need to take very serious and practice. Unfortunately, many don’t give it attention, because they believe it doesn’t matter, and God will always forgive them each time they ask for forgiveness. We all believe God is a loving and merciful Father and as a result cannot refuse us forgiveness when we ask Him. God is the one that makes the rules and not us. Ours is to discover what is written and obey. God in the Bible reveals to us His principles and laws that He expects us to walk in to enjoy His favour, support and blessings.

Forgiveness is one thing that God takes very serious. His verdict is that each man must practice forgiveness to receive forgiveness. The Lord Jesus who came to bear witness to the truth, declared that if we forgive those who offend us, our Heavenly Father will forgive us our offences. He added for clarity, that if we don’t forgive, our Heavenly Father will not forgive us our sins. This means that to receive, forgiveness which we need daily, we should practice forgiveness ourselves. It is self-delusion to think you are forgiven simply because you asked when you are holding a grudge against another.

Matthew‬ ‭5:7‬
7. Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.
‭‭‭NIV‬‬

Mercy begets mercy. Those who show mercy receive mercy. If you, in mercy, forgive those who wrong and offend you, you too will be shown mercy and be forgiven of your wrong doings.

Do not joke with this. Start walking in forgiveness now. You have the capacity to forgive. You have the life of Jesus in you. You are one with Jesus. So love is your nature. By the nature of Christ in you, forgiveness shouldn’t be a struggle for you. It is your nature and life. Yield to it. Yield to the love nature (the life of Jesus) in you. Stop holding grudges. Root out bitterness. Kill anger in you. Forbear and forgive every offence and live in peace and the fullness of God’s love and mercy.

I pray that you stop struggling to forgive in Jesus name. Receive abundant grace to forgive every offence in Jesus name.

DEAL WITH IT NOW

Matthew‬ ‭27:3-5‬
3 When Judas, who had betrayed him, saw that Jesus was condemned, he was seized with remorse and returned the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and the elders. 4 “I have sinned,” he said, “for I have betrayed innocent blood.” “What is that to us?” they replied. “That’s your responsibility.” 5 So Judas threw the money into the temple and left. Then he went away and hanged himself.

What you fail to destroy will eventually destroy you. Judas failed to destroy the greed and love of money in him that made him steal from the fellowship purse.

John‬ ‭12:6
6 He did not say this because he cared about the poor but because he was a thief; as keeper of the money bag, he used to help himself to what was put into it.

1. Judas was chosen by Jesus though he was a thief influenced by greed and love of money.
2. He had the opportunity of changing, being in the company of Jesus and His disciples every day, hearing the word of God and seeing the miracles of God as Jesus demonstrated the authority and power of God.
3. Judas chose to remain the same despite having access to Jesus who could have delivered him if he had asked.
4. Judas was given opportunity to deal with his weakness and overcome by Jesus when, knowing he was a thief, gave him the ministry purse to hold.
5. If Judas had dealt with his weakness, he would not have sold his Master and Saviour for thirty pieces of silver.
6. What you fail to deal with, will deal with you later. The greed in Judas that he failed to deal with dealt with him and in the end, he committed su***de because he couldn’t handle the guilt for what he did.
7. What you permit stays in your life and will finally destroy you.

It is time to deal with that weakness right now. Don’t let it destroy you like greed destroyed Judas. Do not give it another day in your life.

I pray you break free from that weakness in your life right now in Jesus name. Stop treating it with kids gloves. It’s time to get serious and uproot it out of your life in Jesus name. Be free right now in Jesus name.

GOD KEEPS HIS PROMISES

Ps 145:13
13 Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and your dominion endures through all generations. The LORD is faithful to all his promises and loving toward all he has made.

God keeps His promises. King David tells us here in the above passage by the Spirit of God, that God's kingdom is everlasting and His dominion endures through all generations. He has what it takes to keep His promises. Forever, the throne is His. He alone is and will remain the only true and faithful God. No one can challenge His power.

Isa 14:27
27 For the LORD Almighty has purposed, and who can thwart him? His hand is stretched out, and who can turn it back?

13 Yes, and from ancient days I am he. No one can deliver out of my hand. When I act, who can reverse it?"
NIV

Since no one can stand in the way of God. He is well able to fulfil all His promises. Because He is a keeper of His promises, that is why He is called God and worshiped by billions of people worldwide. Anyone who can't keep promises is not worthy of the title of God.

God keeps His promises. Jesus keeps His promises. Trust Him and He will not fail you. You can, and should build your life, career, marriage, relationship, business on the word of God. It can never fail.

The whole world is filled with testimonies of those who acted on the word of God and it came to pass as God said it would. The Bible is filled with stories of God's word that came to pass. Everything God told Abraham came to pass. Everything He told Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, Joshua and all the Prophets in the bible, came to pass. I testify that the word of God works even till tomorrow. I have tested and tasted the goodness of Gods' word. It works. Believe it. It does work. If you obey it, it will favour you. If you disobey it, it will punish you. There is life and death in the word of God. There are blessings and curses, sickness and healing, death and life, prosperity and poverty, progress and stagnation, favour and misfortune in the word of God. How you attend to the word of God determines what you reap.

Make a wise choice today. Be loyal, submissive and faithful to the word of God. And it will favour you. The word works! The word of God is God Himself. Your attitude to the word of God is your attitude to God Himself. You can't love God more than you love His word. You can't submit to God more than you submit to His word. You can't reverence God more than you reverence His word. You can't respect God more than you respect His word. You can't obey God more than you obey His word. Your reaction to the word of God is your reaction to God Himself. Surrender to the word of God today. If you have not accepted Jesus as Saviour and Lord, do it now.

I pray you embrace, love and cherish the word of God all your life in Jesus name.

UNRELIABLE CHRISTIANS

Proverbs 25:14
14. A person who promises a gift but doesn't give it is like clouds and wind that bring no rain.

5. It is better to say nothing than to make a promise and not keep it.

Many cannot be trusted with words. They never keep their promises. A true believer in Jesus Christ should be a promise keeper. You should be a man of your word. Your word should be your bond. You do not need to swear to assure someone that you mean what you say and you are committed to keeping your word. Your track record of keeping your promises precedes you and helps to convince your hearer.

Do not be an unreliable Christian whose words and promises should not be taken seriously.

Unreliable Christians:
1. Don’t keep promises.
2. They quickly deny what they said.
3. They never own up to the stories they have told you when they are called upon to give witness to the things they reported to you.
4. They gossip, lie and slander others, and then turn around and deny it.
5. You can’t plan with them because they never keep to agreements.
6. They use people, telling lies and promising what they know they have no intention of doing just to have their way and get what they want. Their words are empty and deceptive.
7. They are users. They do it not only to man, but also to God their maker. They make vows and promises to God and in church and forget or claim to forget to keep it.

Train and discipline yourself to only make promises that you can keep, and to keep every promise that you make. Make yourself reliable and trustworthy.

I pray for you that you will not be numbered among those who are unreliable and never keep promises In Jesus name.

DO WHATEVER HE TELLS YOU

John 2:5
5 His mother said to the servants, "Do whatever he tells you."
NIV

As we expect God to guide us into the solution to our problems, it is important that we listen attentively to what He may say to us and make sure we follow His instructions to the letter. The scripture through the instruction that Mary the mother of Jesus gave the servants at the wedding in Cana, taught us to obey every instruction the Lord gives to us without questioning His wisdom and rationalizing it. If the servants where not instructed to just obey and don’t question the wisdom behind the instruction, they would not have given the water they fetched from the well into the jar to the master of ceremony to serve the guests as wine. They were amazed that the water became wine, yet they never knew how and when it became wine seeing that they were the ones that fetched and filled the jar with water and drew from it and gave to the master of ceremony.

Miracles always happen when we obey promptly and wholeheartedly, simple instructions that God gives us. Whatever He tells you as you wait on Him for a way out, do it without letting your brain get in the way. Look out for those spontaneous thoughts that will come to your mind as you wait on God. Be mindful of them. Be mindful also of the images or pictures that God will bring to your mind. It could be somebody you may need to see or share with. As you obey, you will become victorious by the help and power of God.

If you will decide today to be victorious and never to allow a challenge to win over you, you will celebrate. If you will listen and obey any and every instruction the Holy Spirit will give you from time to time, you will never lose a battle, your joy or enthusiasm for living, you will always be on top of any and every challenge that will come your way. It pays to listen and obey. Do it always when He communicates to you. That’s how you escape. That’s how you win the battles of life.

I pray the grace to patiently wait until you hear from God to rest upon you in Jesus name. May you hear clearly and apply what you receive in Jesus name.

CHANNELS OF BLESSINGS THAT PRODUCE SUPERNATURAL BREAKTHROUGHS:

THE COMMON DENOMINATOR
Luke 6:38
38. Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you."

The common denominator with the five channels of blessing discussed in the last few days that enables one to access the blessings of God is GIVING. You give your life to Jesus. You give your time, talent and energy to His service. You give your resources to the work of God and help the needy.

Acts 20:35
35. In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.'"

Commit to giving and adding value to the kingdom of God and the life of people. Support your pastor and outreach ministers in the work of the kingdom and be a channel of blessing to those in need and you will see the blessings of God continually manifest in your life.

Mal 3:10-12
10 Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this," says the Lord Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it. 11 I will prevent pests from devouring your crops, and the vines in your fields will not cast their fruit," says the Lord Almighty. 12 "Then all the nations will call you blessed, for yours will be a delightful land," says the Lord Almighty.

Be a diligent, faithful, tireless, excited tither. Blessings are provoked by giving. Abraham gave to Melchizedek and he blessed him in the name of the Lord. Isaac blessed Jacob thinking he was Esau after he ate his venison prepared for him. The giving of the last portion of meal to Prophet Elijah provoked abundant supply for her and her son as well as Elijah the prophet. The giving and hospitality of the Shunamite woman blessed her with a son and raised him up again when the devil struck him dead. The blessings of the poor enhanced and increased God’s blessing and favour upon Job’s life.

Give as you are led by God. Be generous in your giving. God rewards based on the measure we give (Luke 6:38). If you sow sparingly, you will reap sparingly. If you sow generously, you will reap generously (2Cor 9:6).

Remember that nothing of value is ever free. Therefore, we see giving as the gateway to a world of blessings.

It is more blessed to give than to receive. It is more blessed to give than to pray. It is more blessed to give than to fast. Be on the giving side of life. Giving has proved to be the gateway to supernatural turn around in all ages. Most supernatural turn around stories in scriptures came out of giving. No matter how much a man prays, fast, studies, preach and teach the word of God, he cannot prosper financially if he is not a giver.

When God wants to bless you, He will usually demand a gift from you to provoke the blessing that will take you to your next level. Every demand from heaven is designed for a change of level. Pull out blessings from your parents through giving to them. Your parents cannot but bless you when you respect and honour them with gifts. Start giving now with joy and faith and the blessings will start flowing bringing multiple breakthroughs and change of levels.

I pray the Father baptize you with Spirit of giving and that you will never be tired of giving in Jesus name. I pray that your life will be a living proof of the bountiful result of giving in Jesus name.

5. THE BLESSINGS OF THE POOR
Ps 41:1-3
41 Blessed is he that considereth the poor: the Lord will deliver him in time of trouble.
2 The Lord will preserve him, and keep him alive; and he shall be blessed upon the earth: and thou wilt not deliver him unto the will of his enemies.
3 The Lord will strengthen him upon the bed of languishing: thou wilt make all his bed in his sickness.

The poor amongst us are covenant channels of blessings. Give a helping hand to the poor and the blessings of God will be activated in your life.

When you see the poor and you feel unconcern, you are blocking your channel of blessings. Your giving to the poor guarantees your own deliverance and breakthrough in time of great opposition.

13 If a man shuts his ears to the cry of the poor, he too will cry out and not be answered.

Disregarding the situation of the poor brings you under a financial oppression. Helping the poor provokes the blessings of God to work in your life. You are blessed to be a blessing. You are not blessed to be an accumulator but a distributor of the resources of the Almighty God. You are blessed to be a channel of blessings. The breakthrough of Job was through the channel of blessing the poor. The scriptures say he was eyes to the blind, feet to the lame and a father to the needy. He made the widow sing.

Job 29:7-17
7 "When I went to the gate of the city and took my seat in the public square, 8 the young men saw me and stepped aside and the old men rose to their feet; 9 the chief men refrained from speaking and covered their mouths with their hands; 10 the voices of the nobles were hushed, and their tongues stuck to the roof of their mouths. 11 Whoever heard me spoke well of me, and those who saw me commended me, 12 because I rescued the poor who cried for help, and the fatherless who had none to assist him. 13 The man who was dying blessed me; I made the widow's heart sing. 14 I put on righteousness as my clothing; justice was my robe and my turban. 15 I was eyes to the blind and feet to the lame. 16 I was a father to the needy; 17 I broke the fangs of the wicked and snatched the victims from their teeth.

Commit yourself to helping somebody underprivileged. You can undertake to train someone in school, start up a business for someone, raise someone out of poverty, rent a house for someone or find a job for someone. Just do something to help the poor and the blessings of God will be unleashed in your life.

I pray that your heart will always be open to help the needy around you as much as you can, and that with joy you will continue to help people even when you are not well appreciated by them in Jesus name.

4. PARENTAL BLESSING
Gen 27:27-29
27 So he went to him and kissed him. When Isaac caught the smell of his clothes, he blessed him and said, "Ah, the smell of my son is like the smell of a field that the Lord has blessed. 28 May God give you of heaven's dew and of earth's richness — an abundance of grain and new wine. 29 May nations serve you and peoples bow down to you. Be lord over your brothers, and may the sons of your mother bow down to you. May those who curse you be cursed and those who bless you be blessed."

There is no gainsaying the fact that parents have authority over their children. The pronouncement of their mouths over their children do come to pass. Every word Isaac spoke over Jacob came to pass. Every blessing Israel spoke over Joseph came to pass despite the hatred of his brothers.

• Biological parents have divine authority to speak over their children. So, when your parents bless you, it sticks. God confirms it. Even their curses on your life come to pass. If any of your parents have cursed you before, you have to go to them with a gift in hand and a repentant and humble heart and ask for their forgiveness and blessings to cancel their curse.
• Spiritual parents are your spiritual fathers and mothers who minister to you and care for you as a father will care for his children. Their blessings over your life will work wonders. If your biological parents cursed you in their life time and they are no more, your spiritual father can plead on your behalf and through the authority of God upon his life cancel the curse with his blessing.

It takes your respect, honour and gift to provoke parental blessings. Good behaviour always gets commendation and blessing while bad behaviour brings curses. Through respect, honour and gifts, earn your (biological and spiritual) parent’s blessings.

12. "Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the LORD your God is giving you.

3. THE BLESSING OF PROPHETS
1 Kings 17:8-14
8 Then the word of the Lord came to him: 9 "Go at once to Zarephath of Sidon and stay there. I have commanded a widow in that place to supply you with food." 10 So he went to Zarephath. When he came to the town gate, a widow was there gathering sticks. He called to her and asked, "Would you bring me a little water in a jar so I may have a drink?" 11 As she was going to get it, he called, "And bring me, please, a piece of bread."
12 "As surely as the Lord your God lives," she replied, "I don't have any bread — only a handful of flour in a jar and a little oil in a jug. I am gathering a few sticks to take home and make a meal for myself and my son, that we may eat it — and die."
13 Elijah said to her, "Don't be afraid. Go home and do as you have said. But first make a small cake of bread for me from what you have and bring it to me, and then make something for yourself and your son. 14 For this is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: 'The jar of flour will not be used up and the jug of oil will not run dry until the day the Lord gives rain on the land.'"

Prophetic blessings secure the future. It rescues, delivers, preserves and protects. It opens doors and helps bring into manifestation the plan and purpose of God in one’s life. Elijah in obedience to the instruction of God to go to Zarephath of Sidon where He has commanded a widow to feed him till the famine period is over, went to this woman and spoke a blessing that kept the woman, her son and prophet Elijah well fed till the famine period was over. The woman had declared that she had only a little portion of flour and oil for the last meal before death will take her and the son. Elijah asked for her to feed him first and after which she will make for herself and her son, for God had given a command and the oil and flour will not finish. If Elijah did not pronounce that, and the woman did not believe and obey, she and her son would have died of hunger. The pronouncement of God’s plan (willingness and readiness) to provide for them by Prophet Elijah activated the blessing to come to pass.

2 Kings 4:14-17
14 "What can be done for her?" Elisha asked.
Gehazi said, "Well, she has no son and her husband is old."
15 Then Elisha said, "Call her." So he called her, and she stood in the doorway. 16 "About this time next year," Elisha said, "you will hold a son in your arms."
"No, my lord," she objected. "Don't mislead your servant, O man of God!"
17 But the woman became pregnant, and the next year about that same time she gave birth to a son, just as Elisha had told her.

Prophet Elisha was provided for and giving special accommodation by a certain well to do Shunamite woman and her husband. After a while, the Prophet wanted to reward her for her kindness, but didn’t know what she will bless her with. He called her and asked what she will like him to do for her, and she said, “nothing”. Elisha was still determined to bless her for her kindness over a long period of time. When Gehazi (Elisha’s servant) reminded him that she has no son, he declared, "About this time next year," Elisha said, "you will hold a son in your arms." And it was so. She has always desired a son, but she couldn’t bear one. It took the pronouncement of the Prophet on her to make it happen.

Be sensitive the pronounced blessing of your Pastor (Prophet) over your life. Receive them with faith and it will work for you.

Matthew 10:41
41. Anyone who receives a prophet because he is a prophet will receive a prophet's reward, and anyone who receives a righteous man because he is a righteous man will receive a righteous man's reward.

In the two stories considered, the recipients of the blessings did something to active the blessings.
1. They sowed into the life of the man of God.
2. They served the man of God.
3. They met the needs of the man of God.
Practice the above willingly and joyfully and you will be blessed like they were.

Apostle Paul blessed the Philippian believers because they were in the habit of meeting his personal and ministry needs. Don’t just expect and ask for prophetic blessings, activate the blessings by supporting your pastor’s work and meeting his needs.

Philippians 4:18-19
18. I have received full payment and even more; I am amply supplied, now that I have received from Epaphroditus the gifts you sent. They are a fragrant offering, an acceptable sacrifice, pleasing to God. 19. And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.

God is committed to bringing to pass the inspired blessings (pronouncements) of His servants and messengers.

Isaiah 44:26
26. who carries out the words of his servants and fulfills the predictions of his messengers, ……

Receive grace to continually activate the blessing from your Pastor (Prophet) through service, sowing to his life and meeting his personal needs and that of his ministry in Jesus name. May you never be tired of doing this, and may every blessing from his mouth on you and yours always produce result in Jesus name.
