TUESDAY BIBLE STUDY

THE BATTLE OF THE MIND

01-09-26

Proverbs 4:23; 2 Corinthians 10:3–5

The battle of the mind is more dangerous than the physical battle because whatever controls your mind eventually influences your life. The mind is a place of battle.

The enemy may not always attack your body first; sometimes, he attacks your thoughts, your confidence, your identity, and your perception of yourself. This is why the Bible says in 2 Corinthians 10:5 that we should bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.

2 Timothy 1:7 reminds us that God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind. Therefore, you must learn to guard your mind because a troubled mind can produce a troubled life, while a sound mind can produce a sound life.

You are like what is in your mind

Proverbs 23:7 says, “For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he.”

What you continually think about eventually influences what you believe, what you say, what you do, and ultimately who you become.

Romans 12:2 teaches us that transformation begins with the renewing of the mind. If you want to change your life, you must first allow God to change the way you think.

Your life may not change until your thinking changes.

Only the spiritual controls the physical

There is a spiritual dimension behind the physical. This is why we must not allow physical circumstances to dictate our mentality.

You may be facing a difficult situation, but you must refuse to allow the situation to determine what you believe about God or what you believe about yourself.

Philippians 4:8 teaches us to think on things that are true, honest, just, pure, lovely, and of good report.

What occupies your mind matters.

A great man has a great mind.

Greatness begins from within before it becomes visible on the outside. Before a person builds a great life, he must first build a great mind.

Every action is a product of the mind

Every action, whether good or bad, is a product of what has been processed and permitted in the mind.

Mark 7:21 shows that evil thoughts can proceed from within a person.

John 13:2 also shows how a thought can be entertained until it produces an action.

Therefore, do not entertain every thought that comes into your mind.

Not every thought deserves your attention. Not every thought is from God. Some thoughts must be rejected, some must be corrected, and some must be replaced with the Word of God.

Life is also about progress

You cannot continue to think the same way and expect to experience a completely different life.

Growth requires mental development.

You must constantly evaluate your thoughts, your decisions, your associations, your values, and your standards.

If your mind grows, your capacity grows.

As your thinking expands, your ability to recognize opportunities, solve problems, handle responsibility, and walk in God's purpose also increases.

What you call yourself in your heart matters

Proverbs 23:7 teaches us that as a person thinks in his heart, so is he.

What you call yourself in your heart is important because your internal identity eventually affects your external reality.

If you continually see yourself as a failure, you may begin to behave like one. If you see yourself as incapable, you may stop attempting great things. But when you see yourself through God's Word, you begin to develop the confidence to walk in what God has designed for you.

Do not allow your present situation to give you a permanent identity.

You are not what you are going through. Your circumstance is not your identity.

MATURITY IS OF THE MIND

Maturity is not merely about age. Maturity is of the mind.

A person can be old and still be immature. Likewise, someone can be young and demonstrate remarkable wisdom.

Maturity is discerning good from evil.

Maturity is knowing what to accept, what to reject, when to speak, when to remain silent, when to walk away, and when to stand your ground.

Maturity means you no longer allow every emotion to control your decisions.

Maturity requires constant mental evaluation

You must constantly examine your thoughts.

A mature person does not simply think; he evaluates his thoughts.

Maturity builds standards

Maturity builds standards because when your mind becomes mature, you become more intentional about what you allow into your life.

You become careful about the people you listen to, the things you watch, the conversations you entertain, and the environments you expose yourself to.

Guard your heart. Guard your thoughts. Guard your imagination.

Proverbs 4:23: “Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.”

The battle may be taking place in your mind, but the victory begins when you learn to submit your mind to God.

TOPIC: YOUR MINDSET IS MAGNETIC

Romans 12:2

Your mindset is magnetic. The state of your mind has the ability to influence how you see life, respond to situations, and approach the future.

The way you think determines how you speak, and what you consistently speak can shape the direction of your life.

Even grace is looking for mindset. What you decree is what will come.

God may give you an opportunity, but your mindset will determine how you see and maximize that opportunity. A negative mindset can make a person see problems where God has already provided possibilities.

Numbers 13:30, 14:8

Caleb and Joshua saw the same land, the same giants, and the same challenges as the other spies, but they had a different mindset. While others focused on the greatness of the problem, Caleb and Joshua focused on the greatness of their God.

No matter the bigness of the situation, we have a God that is bigger than all.

Your situation may be big, but God is bigger. Your challenge may look impossible, but nothing is impossible with God.

Do not allow the size of your problem to determine the size of your faith. Let the size of your God determine how you see your problem.

David as an instance. 1 Samuel 17:25

David saw the same Goliath that everyone else saw, but he did not see him from the mindset of fear. He saw Goliath from the mindset of faith and confidence in God.

While others saw Goliath as too big to fight, David saw the power of God as greater than the giant.

Your mindset will determine whether you see an obstacle or an opportunity for God to manifest His power.

A positive and faith-filled mindset does not deny the existence of problems; it simply refuses to allow the problem to become bigger than God.

SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHING

TOPIC: SET YOUR MIND FREE

30-08-26

What Is the State of Your Mind?

The state of your mind will determine how well you will succeed in life.

Your mindset is the key to the state of your heart.

How do you handle your mind even when situations become tough?

Your mindset is a magnet.

Negativity attracts negativity.

Positivity attracts positivity.

If you’re in the light, things of the light will come your way because of the state of your mind.

What are the things to set one’s mind free from?

Many are holding on to their past for too long. It is really time to set your mind free.

Everything in life determines your mindset, but how free is your mind?

2 Corinthians 10:3–5

It is time to set your mind free from all negativity.

The mind is the most important part of one’s life.

Your disobedience and obedience simply start from the mind.

How do we set our minds free, even from all manner of troubles?

Matthew 15:13

Do not let those things that are not supposed to be in you dwell in you.

Say to yourself, “I will set my mind free from every thought that is not from God.” Amen.

1. Be renewed in the spirit of your mind.

Romans 12:1–2

1. Control your thoughts.

The things that enter your mind, learn to control them. You don’t have to believe whatever comes to you.

Proverbs 25:28

1. Learn to replace every negative word.

A big man is not known by his size, but by his words that translate to his dreams.

FRIDAY VIGIL SERVICE

TOPIC: YOUR MINDSET IS MAGNETIC

As you think in your heart, so you are. Put your confidence in God.

Isaiah 26:3

Your mind is very important because the way you think influences the way you live. When your mind is stayed on God, He will keep you in perfect peace. Do not allow fear, worry, or negative thoughts to take control of your mind. Put your confidence in God and trust Him completely.

Keep your hope in Him. Do not give up.

No matter what you are going through, never lose your hope in God. Your present situation is not the conclusion of your life. As long as God is involved, there is still hope. Keep believing, keep trusting, and keep moving forward.

Philippians 4:8

God is able. When you change your mindset, your life will change.

Your mindset attracts your goal. What you continually focus on has the power to influence your decisions, actions, and direction. Think about things that are true, honest, just, pure, lovely, and of good report. A renewed and positive mind positions you to see the possibilities that God has placed before you.

Naturally, nobody has the capacity to help anyone, but behind every help there is a spirit involved.

When God wants to help a person, He can use people as instruments and channels of that help. Therefore, do not put your ultimate trust in man; put your confidence in God, who is the source of every genuine help. God can move anyone to become a helper of your destiny.

Romans 12:2

Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. A transformed life begins with a renewed mind. When God changes your mindset, He changes the way you see yourself, your challenges, your opportunities, and your future.

Change your mindset, change your life. Renew your mind with the Word of God, keep your hope in Him, put your confidence in Him, and never give up.
